The Computer ClubThe Computer club is an informal group of Granby highschool students with an interest in electronics andsoftware. The group meets on Fridays after school inroom 1211 from 3:30 - 5:30. The group has an openforum for working with computers for upgrades andperformance. RTS, MMORPG and FPS applications andgames are regularly scheduled. New members arealways welcome.Weightlifting ClubThe Weightlifting club is Granby Memorial High Schoolspower lifting club, with a strong history of former membersholding state records. The club is open to all studentsinterested in power lifting. Club meets four days a week inweight room.AFS ClubThe AFS Club is affiliated with the AFS InterculturalPrograms International organization whose goal is topromote world peace through exchange opportunities forstudents. The club welcomes and supports exchangestudents at GMHS, encourages GMHS students toparticipate in exchange, and holds a variety of activitieswhich focus on interaction with people, schools andcommunities outside Granby. The goal is to provideexperiences and intercultural interactions which willenhance GMHS students’ understanding of others.Activities vary from year to year but have included hostingInternational Weekends, socials, domestic inter-communityexchange, foreign travel, service activities, day-trips toculturally interesting destinations and fund-raising tosupport the club’s activities. Meetings are scheduled asneeded after school in the GMHS Media Center (usuallyweekly during first quarter). Days are alternated toaccommodate student availability.6
