Bel V, a foundation under private law, has been created as a
subsidiary of the FANC. As such, Bel V constitutes the Technical Safety
Organisation (TSO) of the Belgian Nuclear Safety Authority FANC.
Our activities cover inspections and safety assessments for the 7
Belgian nuclear power plants (at the Doel and Tihange sites) and for
several other nuclear installations in Belgium (SCK-CEN, Belgoprocess,
IRE, ...).
Bel V is participating in many international Working Groups (IAEA,
OECD, EC, ...) and projects.

These varied jobs are performed in the heart of the nuclear sector.
With a view to a multidisciplinary approach for maintenance and
development of the expertise, you will also participate, in collaboration
with your colleagues, in other studies and specific projects (periodical
safety reviews, various safety analyses, waste disposal, calculations
of shielding, modifications to the installations,…), within specific
“competency centres” inside Bel V as well as on the international
level.
A considerable part of the engineers’ time is dedicated to specific
training programmes and other external activities, with a view
to developing and maintaining the competency (international
conferences, working groups, expertise abroad,…).
