Pesticides are takinginnocent lives!Elif Demir, Yasemin YükselThe pesticide is the term used for comprising a wide scope ofchemicals such as “insecticides, fungicides, herbicides, rodenticides,molluscicides, nematicides, plant growth regulators, and others”(Hermann, 16) Within these compounds, organochlorine (OC)insecticides have been used in economically struggling countries forthe crop yield and in other European countries to reduce thetransmissibility constant of epidemics such as malaria and typhus.Other inorganic, synthesized insecticides such as organophosphate(OP), however, took control in agricultural activities since the 1970s bybeing able to provide beneficial output as fungicides and herbicides.The issue of pesticides originates from the fact that while primarybeneficial outcomes are local and short-termed, the hazardous effectsare long-termed and worldwide. As a result of its contamination withinorganic substances such as soil, water, lawn, and greenery, pesticidesmay become toxic out of its target area (insects and weeds) bytoxifying other host animals like fish, birds, beneficial soilmicroorganisms. In today’s world, freshwater has become awidespread problem. One of the most popular reasons for this issue is
