Professor Dr. Ben <strong>van</strong> Lier is Directeur Strategie &<br />
Innovatie bij Centric, een Nederlands IT-bedrijf met<br />
vestigingen in België, Noorwegen, Zweden, Duitsland,<br />
Roemenië en Litouwen. In die hoedanigheid richt hij<br />
zich op onderzoek en analyse <strong>van</strong> ontwikkelingen<br />
op het raakvlak tussen organisaties en technologie.<br />
Naast zijn werk bij Centric, promoveerde hij in 2009<br />
aan de Rotterdam School of Management (Erasmus<br />
Universiteit). In 2013 wordt hij benoemd tot Professor<br />
aan de Steinbeis University Berlin, een rol die hij vervult<br />
naast zijn werk bij Centric. In Berlijn continueert hij<br />
zijn lopende onderzoek naar gebieden als systeem<br />
en complexiteitstheorie, interoperabiliteit <strong>van</strong><br />
informatie, de netwerk centrische concepten en het<br />
onderwerp informatie en ethiek. In 2015 wordt hij ook<br />
benoemd tot Lector aan de Hogeschool Rotterdam<br />
in welke rol hij onderzoek doet naar het opkomende<br />
(Industrial) Internet of Things, Cyber-Physical<br />
Systems, Blockchain-technologie en Cybersecurity.<br />
