Pre-notification of the need for a pilot shall normally be done via the e-Services on the
Swedish Maritime Administration website, www.sjofartsverket.se, in conjunction to the
reporting to the Vessel Reporting System (FRS).
A preliminary pilot request shall be done via the FRS minimum 24 hours before pilotage
starts.
The preliminary pilot request must always be followed by a definitive pilot request, no
later than five hours before the pilotage starting time.
In exceptional cases pilot ordering may be done by e-mail, fax, phone, telex or VHF call,
see below.
Pilot ordering routines for transiting THE SOUND.
The pilot must be ordered minimum five hours before the pilotage is started. Notification
and pilot request should preferably be done via FRS, see above. If this is not possible,
e-mail, telex, fax, phone or VHF could be used:
