8.1 Akutte oljeutslipp
sea. The concentration of Aqua-Col D in the mud
is 3.5% in volume. That product is essentially
Glycol. We also have Lubricant additive that has
been added to the mud earlier (also Yellow SFT
color coding) at a concentration of 2% volume.
That WBM is dumpable but that event is
considered as a spill due to the fact that it has
been uncontrolled.
After landing of the 18 3/4" WHRT for BOP test,
it was discovered a drop in the trip tank.
Investigation showed that the wear band in the
upper (primary) packer on the slip joint was
laeking. The air pressure on the packing element
was 10 bar. A total of 800 ltr of waterbased 1,41
sg mud was lost to the sea.
The closing pressure was increased to 22
bar and the leakage stoped. Later the
pressure was reduced to 15 bar with still
not leaking
