will build up more quickly than with other bed coverings. A short period mayonly be needed to reach maximum temperature depending on the insulationdensity of your quilt. This also applies if using additional bed blankets.WHEN FIRST USING YOUR WILFA ELECTRIC BLANKETMost mattresses and bedding absorb moisture which can harbour dust mitesand encourage moulds. Wilfa electric blankets are an effectiveprevention to these conditions. It is recommended that once correctly fittingyour blanket, you run your blanket on the highest setting for 3 hours in a wellventilated room to ensure all moisture is removed from your mattress.During this time you may notice a slight odour which is harmless and willdisappear.N.B. Do not place any objects such as washing baskets, bags , suit casesetc or sit on the bed while the blanket is operating as this may create a hotspot and trigger the over temperature safety device thus rendering theblanket permanently inoperable.CONNECTING UP THE BLANKETBefore connecting up the blanket please check that the voltageindicated on the blanket label corresponds with the mains voltage inyour home. For controlled models each half of the blanket is controlled by a separateswitch with a mains plug. If a single socket is available, use a two wayadaptor.By following the above directions your blanket should now be securelyattached to the mattress. Simply connect the controls by inserting theconnector plug into the socket (see fig 1.). Ensure the plug is firmlyinserted then connect the plug end of the control to the power outlet andswitch on. The flexible cord and switch must be kept outside the bed andaway from open windows or exposed to moisture.ENSURE NO OBJECTS ARE PLACED INTO THE CONTROLSOCKET AT THE POWER OUTLET END.
