As rod afterrod finally evolved, the rods even surprised the Guideline crew with theirperformance, exceeding all expectations. Hence, the name of these rodswas born – Exceed…The lighter single handed rods have collected inspiration and action curves from thepopular Fario Flyrods, a smooth, yet powerful action that accepts a widevariety of casting strokes and styles. The 9’6 and 10’ rods have evolved fromseveral sample generations and revisions. The final result is rods that have acharacter of their own; fast, but yet offering a surprising and very positive “Slingshot”feeling during the cast. This will be highly noticeable also during any kind of Speycast.Exceed Switch Rods come in three line weights and are great tools for the anglerthat wants the best of both worlds. LPXe Switch rods have borrowed part of theiraction curves to these rods and then we started making small changes here and there.Unique to these rods is the lightness and the slightly shorter butt and full wellshandles. This brings out the very best performance from the blank during both single- anddouble handed casting and ensures a very effective and exact stroke, when needed.Building the rods in this way make them so much more alive and fun to fish than thetypical, slightly heavy and either extremely soft (regressed action) or stiff Switch rods, socommon on the market today.Four double handed rods inspired by our bestselling Le Cie Rods make up the range forthe Salmon, Sea Trout and Steelhead angler. The 12’ and the 12’9 rods are newcomersto the Guideline length range and have immediately shown themselves to have a temperthat is very well suited to many European and Icelandic Rivers. The two longer modelswill feel equally at home in British Columbia’s Steelhead Rivers as in Norwegian andScottish Salmon waters. These two rods almost carry the same fast, overdrive kick astheir better known “Big Brothers”, LeCie and LPXe and will be a superb rod for the morebudget minded angler. Exceed Rods are manufactured exclusively with Japanese HighModulus Carbon cloths. GL multi- modulus manufacturing produces strong, lightweightblanks with small diameters and great balance.A new non-linear taper cut has enhanced the strength of the critical spots and at thesame time maintained a lively, continuous action throughout the blank. The rods arefinished in a discreet deep green color with dark green wrappings. All rods have PBgun smoke stripper guides and light weight hard chrome snake guides. Individualrod identification markings on each part double as rod alignment marks when rod isput together. Exceed rods are finished with the philosophy that less is more. We havereversed the clock and fitted them with no-nonsense, extra hard anodized metal partsin the reel seats. Single handed rods up to line weight 6 have beautiful wooden insertswhile line weight 7 and higher rods have all metal reel seats. Fighting butts are “GL HardEVA Style” (same as on Reaction and RS V2 rods) and make for a cool, practical andcomfortable butt. All handles are made from high grade Portuguese cork.
