ABSTRACT<br />
This research is in line 03: Cultural Diversity and the Indigenous Education Master’s in<br />
Education <strong>UCDB</strong> in search of a holding reflexive around the indigenous identity and the<br />
senses and meanings circulating in the context of Campo Grande. Backed into a methodology<br />
of the studies qualitative character of the material collected (drawings, writing and<br />
interviews), establish a relationship between identity, difference and culture, with the axis of<br />
interpreting the historical processes that produce the senses and meanings and establish<br />
relationships of they place in a hierarchy power that the relations between different cultures.<br />
The work is seeking support interfaces established between culture, history, anthropology and<br />
education. Attendance cultural marked and significant in the state of Mato Grosso South, the<br />
Indians are up in little segments worked and discussed in academic circles, in particular with<br />
regard to identify the non-muted and said that history and culture in the works regional<br />
history (academic production and memorialistas) and in school. The research shows that<br />
indigenous peoples is only next addressed the celebrations of the Day of the Indian (April 19)<br />
and on the pages of textbooks that portray the indigenous peoples in general scope and<br />
referendados on stereotypes constructed from quinhentistas period. Amid the these<br />
discussions, studies indicate: dislocated a vision of reality, the lack of information not<br />
unilateral in history, tensions and conflicts experienced by those segments in the process of<br />
development of the state and a strong tendency to prejudice and discrimination, “naturalizing”<br />
the condition of culture less what strengthens the relations of silencing and concealing the<br />
identity indigenous.<br />
