RAJSHAHI
Rajshahi dista 270 km da capital Daca. Aqui nesta região
temos a cidade de Puthia, que possui a mais extensa
quantidade de estruturas hindus do Bangladesh. A mais
impressionante de todas é o Templo Govinda, edificado
entre 1823 e 1895, que é uma grande estrutura quadrada
cheia de numerosas torres ornamentais em miniatura.
Gaud, é um lugar com mais mesquitas históricas do que
qualquer outra área em Bangladesh, excepto em Bagerhat.
SYLHET
Comecemos por Sylhet a sensivelmente 350 km da
capital, com as suas poderosas montanhas. Esta região é
considerada a zona montanhosa do país, que faz fronteira
com a Índia. Está ainda bem patente a arquitectura colonial
inglesa.
Na região de Sylhet fica Srimangal. É a capital de chá de
Bangladesh, uma área também ela montanhosa e uma das
partes mais pitorescas e agradáveis do país. As plantações
do chá formam quilómetros e quilómetros de um tapete
verde que se estende de forma perene pelas colinas
inclinadas, como se fosse um jardim.
Entre as danças tribais, são particularmente populares
Monipuri e Santal. Existem também inúmeros instrumentos
musicais: Banshi (flauta de bambu), Dhole (tambores de
madeira), Ektara (um único instrumento de cordas), Dotara
(um instrumento de quatro cordas), Mandira (um par de
bawls metal utilizado como instrumento de ritmo), entre
outros.
O cricket, o hóquei e o futebol estão entre os desportos
mais populares.

RAJSHAHI
Rajshahi is 270 km away from the capital Dhaka. Here in
this region is the town of Puthia, which has the largest
number of Hindu structures in Bangladesh. The most
impressive of all is the Govinda Temple, built between
1823 and 1895, which is a large square structure, filled
with numerous miniature ornamental towers. Gaud is
the place with more historical mosques than any other
area in Bangladesh except in Bagerhat.
SYLHET
Let’s start with Sylhet, 350 km from the capital, with
its powerful mountains. This region is considered the
highland area in the country, which borders India. It’s
still very clear the English colonial architecture.
In the region of Sylhet is Srimangal. It is the tea capital
of Bangladesh, a mountainous area which is also one
of the most picturesque and pleasant in the country.
The tea plantations make up miles and miles of a green
carpet that stretches from the hills sloping perennial
form, like a garden.
Among the tribal dances, Monipuri and Santal are
particularly popular. There are also numerous musical
instruments: Banshi (bamboo flute), Dhole (wooden
drums), Ektar (a single stringed instrument), Dotara
(a four-stringed instrument), Mandira (a pair of metal
bawls used as rhythm instrument), among others.
Cricket, hockey and football are among the most popular
sports.
