“Notável documentalista <strong>de</strong> Lisboa e amigo íntimo do gran<strong>de</strong><br />
olisipógrafo Júlio <strong>de</strong> Castilho.<br />
J. Leitão Bárcia é, certamente, um dos poucos fotógrafos <strong>de</strong>ste<br />
período com preocupações formalistas inovadoras. São <strong>de</strong>le, na revista<br />
SERÕES, entre 1906 e 1908, à imagem <strong>de</strong> magazines estrangeiros, algumas<br />
fotografias em plongées «absolutos», alguns nocturnos abstractizantes e um<br />
lindíssimo retrato <strong>de</strong> Afonso Lopes Vieira e Albino Forjaz <strong>de</strong> Sampaio, à<br />
noite, no meio da neblina da Av. da Liberda<strong>de</strong>, em Lisboa.”<br />
