Причем сопереживаниетем сильнее, чем дольше эти мыши знакомымежду собой. Даже такие недалекие птицы, как куры,испытывают явный стресс, если их цыплятам причиняютнеприятные ощущения.В основе нашей способности понимать эмоциидругих людей и сопереживать им лежит система«зеркальных нейронов». Эти нейроны возбуждаютсяв нашем мозгу не только когда мы сами выполняемкакое-то действие или испытываем эмоцию, но и когданаблюдаем за кем-то, кто совершает аналогичноедействие или испытывает эмоцию. Этот механизм,который «делает нас такими человечными», работаетне исключительно в мозге человека. Многие животныес успехом им пользуются.Социальные нормы? НЕТ!Всем знакома расхожая фраза «Человек —общественное животное». Но человек — далеконе единственное общественное животное. Волкив стае, журавли в клине, селедки в косяке — все онидемонстрируют непростое социальное поведение.А муравьи и пчелы по сложности социальной организациипревосходят иные человеческие сообщества. Понятно,что их социальное взаимодействие запрограммированогенетически. Другое дело — мы, люди. Мы способнывырабатывать социальные нормы и взаимодействоватьдруг с другом, опираясь на них. Но насколько уникальнаэта наша способность?Голландский ученый Франс де Вааль много летжизни отдал изучению человекообразных обезьяни пришел к выводу, что они вырабатывают сложныесоциальные нормы. Например, они склонны помогатьдруг другу и наказывают тех, кто обманывает или ведетсебя угрожающе. Обезьяны запоминают тех, кто оказалим услугу, и стараются отплатить тем же.Более того, обезьяны имеют довольно твердоепонятие о справедливости. К примеру, капуцин радполучить огурец в награду за выполненное задание.Но если он видит, что его сосед за то же заданиеполучает виноград, то чувствует себя несправедливообиженным и всячески выражает свое возмущение.Может даже запустить огурцом в экспериментатора.Почему-то чувство справедливости у обезьян большевсего задевает философов, удивляется де Вааль.«Обезьяна не может испытывать чувство справедливости,ведь оно было изобретено во время Французскойреволюции!» — цитирует он одного из своих оппонентов.Другой оппонент де Вааля настаивал на том, чтоо справедливости можно было бы говорить, только еслибы обезьяна в знак протеста отказалась не от огурца,а от винограда. Де Вааль повторил эксперимент нашимпанзе, и произошло именно это. Нашлись обезьяны,которые гордо отказались от любимого винограда, когдаобнаружили, что их соседей «обидели» огурцом.Так существуетли коренное отличие,которое делает наслюдьми?В течение многих веков была незыблемойтеологическая догма, согласно которой только человекобладает душой. Всем остальным живым существамв душе было отказано. Не все религии согласныс этим. Например, буддисты верят в реинкарнациюдуш, причем душа может переселяться из человекав животное и из животного в человека. Однаков целом мы все склонны разделять точку зрения о том,что человеку свойственны некие особые душевныекачества, которых нет у животных.Надо сказать, многие серьезные ученые такжебыли в этом убеждены. Так, великий математикРене Декарт считал животных неодушевленнымимашинами. А суть человека он видел в его способностирационально мыслить и испытывать субъективныепереживания. Отправной точкой его философии быловыражение Cogito ergo sum — «Я мыслю, следовательно,я существую». Однако шли годы, и наука признавала заживотными все больше и больше прав на мышлениеи другие «душевные» проявления.Полтора века назад Чарльз Дарвин высказалкрамольную мысль. В своей знаменитой книге«Происхождение человека» он прямо написал, чторазличия между мышлением человека и животных имеютне столько качественный, сколько количественныйхарактер. И в самом деле, добываемые наукой фактыпродолжают подтверждать это. Как мы убедились,животные в состоянии логически мыслить, испытыватьэмоции, понимать намерения других и сопереживать,изготавливать орудия труда, придумывать новоеи делиться опытом, осмысленно общаться с помощьюязыка и вырабатывать сложные социальные нормы.Естественно, в каждом из этих компонентов мы быстрее,умнее, сильнее, но, возможно, Дарвин прав — отличияэти в основном количественные.И все же за всем многообразием небольших«ко личественных» отличий прослеживается явнаябольшая закономерность, которую отмечаютмногие современные ученые-эволюционисты.Сила человека — в культуре, то есть способностивырабатывать, передавать и сохранять полезнуюинформацию негенетическим путем. Нам повезло, чтонаши далекие предки в своем биологическом развитиисделали ставку не на зубы и когти, а на изощренныймозг и развитые органы коммуникации. Благодаряэтому люди начали регулярно изобретать новыетехнологии и делиться друг с другом своими знаниями.Особую роль тут сыграл язык. Люди научилисьобщаться с помощью слов, а это помогло развитьсясложному абстрактному мышлению, которое в своюочередь способствовало дальнейшему развитию новыхтехнологий и культуры в целом.В общем, закрутилась эволюционная спираль.Особенности биологического развития человекасделали возможным появление человеческой культуры,культура обеспечила человеку мощное эволюционноепреимущество перед другими животными, чтоподтолкнуло биологическую эволюцию человека в томже направлении.Так что не будет большимпреувеличениемсказать, что именнокультура сделала наслюдьми. Именно онаопределила нашиосновные биологическиеособенности, отличающиенас от других животных.страницы 22–23
