‹lk Felsefe Yaz Kamp›<br />
Lise ö¤rencilerimiz taraf›ndan organize edilen Felsefe Yaz<br />
Kamp›, Nesin Matematik Köyü'nde 21 Haziran-3 Temmuz<br />
tarihleri aras›nda gerçekleflti. Projeye VKV Koç Özel Lisesi<br />
(sekiz ö¤renciyle), TÖV‹TOL, Befliktafl Atatürk Anadolu<br />
Lisesi, Ümraniye Anadolu Lisesi ve HEV kat›ld›.<br />
Geçti¤imiz senelerde okulumuzda düzenlenen Ütopya<br />
Günü'nün, ö¤renciler taraf›ndan ilgiyle karfl›lanmas› üzerine<br />
bu etkinli¤in okul d›fl›nda 15 günlük bir kamp haline<br />
dönüfltürülmesi fikri, Tayfun Esenkaya taraf›ndan ortaya<br />
at›ld›. Yine Tayfun Esenkaya'nın büyük çabaları ile sponsor<br />
bulunarak, amaca do¤ru adım adım ilerlendi. Felsefe Yaz<br />
Kamp›'n›n hedefi, ütopya yaklafl›m›na uygun olarak,<br />
herkesin tam anlam›yla "eflit" olabilece¤i yani ö¤retmen<br />
otoritesi olmadan bilginin paylaflabilece¤i bir kamp ortam›<br />
oluflturmakt›.<br />
Kamp›n öncülerinden 11. s›n›f ö¤rencimiz Mistral Contrastin,<br />
“Kamp›m›zda kimse, kimseye bir fley dikte ettirmeye<br />
çal›flmad›. Herkes birbirine az ya da çok yeni fleyler katt›.<br />
Katk›lar yaln›zca bilgi de¤il, ayn› zamanda insanl›¤›n yap›<br />
tafl› olan ahlaki ve etik de¤erlerdi. Fark ettik ki,<br />
amaçlad›¤›m›zdan çok daha fazlas›n› yaratt›k. Gördük ki<br />
insanlar kurallar›n, dikte ettirilmifl normlar›n, hiyerarflinin<br />

The Koç Debate Society<br />
In its first year as a club activity, the debate society is off to a running<br />
start. Led by grade 10 student Tara Avunduk and English teacher Annie<br />
Özsaraç, the debate team consists of nine students from grades nine to<br />
twelve. The team meets each Wednesday during the activity debating<br />
different topics, gearing up for debates with other schools. Their<br />
hard work and effort paid off when it was time to debate The Canterbury<br />
School from Fort Meyers Florida, via Skype. The motion of the<br />
debate was capital punishment, and The Koç Team argued as the<br />
opposition. While it was a friendly debate, the Koç students held their<br />
own and argued excellent points. The advisers from Canterbury School,<br />
Konstantin Georgiadis and Barbara Bacon, were impressed at the<br />
strategy and articulate nature of Koç debators Mert Salur, Tara Avunduk<br />
and Alara ‹çöz. This debate was a part of the ongoing cultural exchange<br />
with The Canterbury School via the Bridges project. The team felt it<br />
was a great experience to interact with students from another culture<br />
and looks forward to more opportunities to engage with our friends<br />
across the Atlantic. Team members also include Onur Bumin, Senem<br />
Çelikörslü, Gizil Fotumacı, Baflak Feyzio¤lu, Elif Kara and Selin<br />
Öztekin.<br />
Proje üyeleri, bu projenin gerçekleflmesinde sponsor<br />
deste¤i temin eden Koç Vakfı'na teflekkürlerini dile getirdi.<br />

Güncel Olaylar Üzerine Elefltiriler”, “Siyaset Felsefesinin<br />
Kavramlar›nda Milliyetçilik”, Senem Onur “Bilim<br />
Felsefesinde K. Popper” ve Gülfer Birsin iki gün süresince<br />
“Etik De¤erler Nas›l Olmal›d›r ve Etik Nedir?” gibi konular<br />
üzerine ö¤rencilerle söylefli ve tart›flmalar yapt›lar.
