Anlamak
Yeryüzü sözlükte yer kabuğu
olarak geçmektedir. Aynı
zamanda yaşam kabuğu
olarak da nitelendirilmektedir.
Yaşamın olduğu her alanda
bir yeryüzü, yani yaşam
kabuğu olmak zorundadır.
İnsanlık yaşamaya ve yeni
şeyler üretmeye devam ettikçe
bu yaşam kabuğu da olmaya
devam edecektir. Yeryüzü
olarak nitelendirdiğimiz yer
kabuğumuzun da kendine has
birçok halleri mevcuttur
Yaşam var olduğundan
günümüze kadar insanlığın
her alanında bu haller kendisini
göstermiş, bazen bir ilham
kaynağı bazen ise bir engel
olarak görülmüştür. İnsanlık
olarak yeryüzünü ve onun hallerini
anlamak; aslında yaşam
ve yaşayışın nasıl devam
ettiğini anlamak olacaktır.

Understanding States
of the Ground
The earth is mentioned in the
dictionary as a ground shell. It
is also described as a life shell.
In every area where life exists,
it has to be the earth, the shell
of life. As humanity continues
to live and produce new things,
this will continue to be the shell
of life. Our shell, which we describe
as the earth, also has its
own unique states.
Since life has existed, these
states have manifested themselves
in all areas of humanity
until today, sometimes it has
been seen as an inspiration
and sometimes an obstacle.
Understanding the earth and
its states as humanity; in fact,
it will be to understand how life
and life continue.

Yeryüzünü doğduğumuz ilk
andan itibaren deneyimlemeye
başlarız. Aldığımız ilk nefes,
bastığımız ilk yer, bize yaşama
imkânı sunar. Bu deneyimler
ile başlayan yeryüzü tecrübemiz
hayatımız bitene kadar
kesintisiz devam eder. Kimi insanlar
küçük bir bölgede, kimisi
ise çeşitli alanlarda yeryüzü
tecrübesi edinerek hayatını
tamamlar.

We begin to experience the
earth from the first moment we
are born. The first breath we
take, the first place we press,
gives us the opportunity to live.
Our earth experience, which
started with these experiences,
continues uninterrupted until
our life ends. Some people
complete their lives by acquiring
the experience of the earth
in a small region and some in
various fields.

Yeryüzünün insanın her duygusunu
ortaya çıkaracak
çeşitli halleri vardır. Bunlar bir
fotoğrafta görünse bile insanın
hislerini değiştirebilmektedir.
Yeryüzünün hallerini deneyimlemek
insanın hayal gücünü
genişletmekte, insana farklı
bakış açıları katmaktadır.
Nitekim Jules Verne gibi
büyük bir hayal gücüne sahip
yazar da bu özelliğini gezgin
olmasına bağlamaktadır. Jules
Verne seyahatlerinde birçok
yeryüzü hallerini deneyimleme
şansı bulmuş ve yaşam
kabuğumuz hakkında birçok
bilgi edinmiştir.
There are various states of the
earth that reveal every feeling
of man. Even if these can be
seen in a photograph, they can
change the feelings of the person.
Experiencing the states of
the earth broadens the imagination
of the person and adds
different perspectives to the
person. As a matter of fact, the
writer with a great imagination
like Jules Verne attributes this
feature to being a traveler. Jules
Verne had the chance to experience
many earth conditions
on her travels and learned a lot
about our life shell.

He used this information in
his books and gave millions
of people different perspectives
and imagination. In short,
experiencing the earth and its
states means saving the human
from being stuck somewhere
and a narrow imagination and
taking the man on a journey to
infinity.

Projenin temelinde sınır
kavramlarının birleştiği bir
noktada sınırsızlığı sağlayan
‘’Yeryüzünün sahip olduğu
olaylar ve imgeler örüntüsünün
tümünü deneyimleyebilmek
mümkün müdür?‘’ sorusunun
cevabını bulmaya yönelik
bir arayışa girildi. Bu noktada
aslında hepimizin küçük
yaşlarımızdan beri tanıdığı
gezginci ruhumuzu uyandıran,
dünyaya bakış açımızı ve hayal
gücümüzü geliştiren ‘’Jules
Verne’’ büyük ölçüde ilham
kaynağımız oldu.
At the point where the concepts
of border meet at the
base of the project, “is it possible
to experience the whole
pattern of events and images
of the earth?“ A search was
made to find the answer to the
question. At this point, “Jules
Verne”, which has awakened
our spirit of stroller, which we
all know since our early ages,
and developed our perspective
and imagination to the
world, has been our source of
inspiration.

öngörüsü ve hayal gücü ile
yüzyıllar öncesinden günümüz
icatlarına ilham kaynağı
olmuştur. Bir gezgin kâşif ve
seyahat tutkunu olarak Ay’a
seyahatin mümkün olmadığı
zamanlarda Ay’a yolculuk adlı
romanı yazmış, denizaltılar
olmadan denizaltıları, bilim
adamlarından önce uzay
gemilerini, roketleri, helikopterleri
ve zeplinleri hayal etmiş
bu hayallere dayalı bilim
kurgu türünde önemli eserler
bırakmıştır.
Jules Verne’in varoluşsal
arayışının özünü temsil eden
‘’Dünyanın merkezine yolculuk’’
romanında sözü geçen
Dünyanın merkezine bir geçidin
bulunduğu Snæfellsjökull
dağı projenin çıkış noktası
olmuştur.
Jules Verne has inspired today’s
inventions centuries ago
with his high vision and imagination.
As a traveler explorer
and travel buff, he wrote the
novel “Journey to the Moon”
when the trip to the moon was
not possible, and submarines
without submarines left important
works in this fictional
science-based type of fiction
before imagining spaceships,
rockets, helicopters and zeppelins.
Snæfellsjökull mountain,
where there is a gateway to
the center of the world mentioned
in the novel “Journey to
the center of the world”, which
represents the essence of Jules
Verne’s existential quest, has
been the starting point of the
project.

Snæfellsjökull İzlanda’nın
Snæfellsnes yarımadasında
bulunan en son M.Ö. 200
yılında patlamış, sönmüş bir
yanardağdır. İzlanda içinde
barındırdığı ekstrem doğa
koşulları ile doğa fenomenleri
ülkesi olarak bilinmekte
bununla beraber Snæfellsnes
yarımadası da İzlanda’nın
batısında bulunan doğal
oluşumların zenginliği ve
çeşitliliği nedeniyle genellikle
‘’Minyatür İzlanda’’ olarak
adlandırılır. Bölgenin %80 inde
yerleşim izni bulunmayıp doğa
kendi ile baş başa bir haldedir.
Yeryüzünün kutuplara doğru
incelmeye başladığı Snæfellsnes’
de yer altı zenginlikleri
yeryüzüne çıkmıştır. Yarımada
yeryüzünün tüm hallerini
görüp deneyimleyebileceğimiz
bir coğrafya olarak çalışma
bölgesi seçilmiştir.
Snæfellsjökull’un coğrafi
ve fiziksel yönlerinin ele
alınmasının yanı sıra kültürel
tarihiyle olan bağlamı projenin
temel felsefesini oluşturmuştur.
Iceland -Snæfeljokul
Snæfellsjökull is the last found
in 200 BC’s Snæfellsnes peninsula.
It is an erupted volcano
that erupted. Iceland is known
as the country of extreme
natural conditions and natural
phenomena, however, the
Snæfellsnes peninsula is also
often called “Miniature Iceland”
due to the richness and
diversity of natural formations
located in the west of Iceland.
In 80% of the region, there
is no settlement permit, and
nature is alone with itself. In
Snæfellsnes, where the earth
began to thin towards the
poles, the underground riches
came to the earth. The peninsula
has been chosen as a
geography where we can see
and experience all the earth’s
states.
In addition to addressing the
geographical and physical
aspects of Snæfellsjökull, its
context with its cultural history
has been the basic philosophy
of the project.

Değişken koşullar ve tezatın
enerjisinin uyandırdığı Dinamizm
etkisi projenin bütününde
dinamik yansımalarla karşılık
buldu. Yeraltı katmanlarının
hareketi , Jules Verne’nin
seyahatlerle başlayan hareket
döngüsü ve Snaefeljokull’daki
yeryüzü hallerinin devinimi
projeyi bir yere bağlı kalmaktan
uzaklaştırmıştır. Bu sebeple
yeryüzünün sabit bir noktadan
deneyimlenmesi yerine dinamik
bir proje önerisi sunuldu.
Projenin dinamik etkisi geniş
bir vista olanağı sağlamıştır.

The effect of Dynamism evoked
by the energy of contrasting
conditions and contrasts has
been met with dynamic reflections
throughout the project.
The motion of the underground
layers, the movement cycle of
Jules Verne starting with the
travels and the movement of
the earthy states in Snaefeljokull
have removed the project
from being tied to one place.
For this reason, a dynamic project
proposal was presented instead
of experiencing the earth
from a fixed point. The dynamic
effect of the project provided
a wide vista opportunity.

Kullanıcıların yapı ile birlikte konaklarken
seyahat edebileceği,
araştırma görevlilerinin yerinde
numune alıp uygulama
yapabilmeleri için hazırlanan
laboratuvarı içinde bulunduran
hareketli bir proje tasarlanmaya
başlandı. Bölgeye dair
analizler tamamlandığında
dağın etrafını çeviren ulaşım
ağı projeye bir referans olarak
tanımlandı. Snæfellsnes’in yeryüzü
zenginlikleri ve önemli
yapılar tespit edilip turistik faaliyetlerin
de gerçekleştirileceği,
ulusal park ile bağlantısı olan
noktalar belirlendi. Bu değerler
üzerinden ulaşım ağının seyahat
duraklarına karar verildi.
Üst ölçek kararları ve mevcut
araç yolları göz önünde bulundurularak
yeni bir ulaşım
ağı tasarlandı. Ulaşım ağının
yeryüzü ile temasını minimum
tutmak için monoray sitem
tercih edildi. Böylelikle doğa
ile bütüncül yeryüzünü deneyimleyen
ama yer ile bağı olmayan
bir tasarım ilişkisi kurmak
hedeflendi
A mobile project was started to
be designed which includes a
laboratory where the users can
travel while staying with the
building, and that the research
assistants prepare the sample
and perform on-site. When
the analysis of the region was
completed, the transportation
network that surrounded the
mountain was defined as a reference
to the project. The land
riches and important structures
of Snæfellsnes were identified
and the points that are connected
with the national park
were determined, where touristic
activities would also be carried
out. Based on these values,
the travel stops of the transportation
network were decided.
A new transportation network
was designed by taking into account
the upper scale decisions
and existing vehicle routes. The
monorail system was preferred
to minimize the contact of the
transportation network with the
earth. Thus, it was aimed to
establish a design relationship
that has a holistic earth with
nature but has no connection
with the earth.

Daha sonra bu ağ üzerinde
yer alacak modüllerin
tasarımı düşünüldü. Jules
Verne’in hikâyelerinde
tasarladığı araçlar incelendi.
Gerek denizaltı gerek zeplinler
gerekse uzay araçlarında
keskin bitişleri olan formların
kullanılmadığı parametresi
tasarımda öncül kabul edildi.
Seyahat konforunu artırmak
için dış etkileri ve hava akımını
en az hissettirecek aerodinamik
form arayışına başlandı.
Kavisli hatları olan, hiç ayrıtı
bulunmayan kapsül formu
tasarlandı. Enine ve boyuna
kesitlerde de görüldüğü üzere
dairelerin çapları eşit tutularak
hem kusursuz hem de mümkün
olan sınırlar içerisinde en
büyük hacim elde edilmiş oldu.
Ulaşım yapısı olan bu projede
Avangard mimari gruplardan
Archigram’ın neo fütüristik ve
teknoloji çağını yakalamaya
çalışır tasarım tutumları yönlendirici
kabul edildi.
Later, the design of the modules
on this network was considered.
The tools designed
by Jules Verne in his stories
were examined. The parameter,
which does not use forms
with sharp finishes in both
submarines, zeppelins and
spacecraft, was considered a
premise in design. In order to
increase the travel comfort, the
search for aerodynamic form
that will make the outer effects
and air flow feel the least is
started. The capsule form with
curved lines and no details was
designed. As can be seen in
the transverse and longitudinal
sections, the diameters of the
circles were kept equal and the
largest volume was obtained
within the limits of both flawless
and possible. In this project,
which has a transportation
structure, Archigram, one of the
Avangard architectural groups,
tries to capture the neo-futuristic
and technological age, and
its design attitudes are considered
guiding.

aksı ile düşünüldü. Merkezde
laboratuvar hacmi açık mekan
olarak tasarlandı. Yanal
büyüyen hacimlere ise hizmet
fonksiyonları yüklendi. Hareket
yönü cephesi galeri katı ile
genişletilerek cam yüzeylerinde
etkisi kullanılarak iç-dış ilişkisi
görsel olarak artırıldı. Diğer
eğrisel bitiş ise opak tutuldu
mekanik hacimler ve ıslak hacimler
gizlendi.

The in orizontal linear growing
mass was considered with
the laboratory and the circulation
axis. Laboratory volume in
the center was designed as an
open space. Lateral growing
volumes were loaded with service
functions. The direction of
movement has been expanded
with the gallery floor, and its
interior-exterior relationship
has been visually enhanced by
using its effect on glass surfaces.
The other curved finish was
opaque, mechanical volumes
and wet volumes were hidden.

düşey sirkülasyon minimum
mekan kullanımı için platform
ile sağlandı. Pistonlu platform
ile üst kata dinlenme ve
gözlem hacmine doğrudan
erişim sağlandı. Yatay kütle ile

çakıştığı izler referans alınarak
kabuk üzerinde saydam bir
malzeme kullanıldı. Projede
akışkan mekanlar öngörüldü.

öğeler yerine tefrişler ile mekanlar
sınırlandırıldı. Gezici
modüller ve bisikletler, ulaşım
ağına alternatif alanları da
deneyimleme imkanı vererek
araştırmacıların kullanımına
sunuldu. Saydam yüzeylerden
oluşan gezici modüller çift
kişilik küre formu üzerinden
tasarlandı. Hareketi sağlamak
için küre merkezini kesen aksın
iki yanında kesişen halkalar
kullanıldı.
Vertical circulation between the
lower floor and the upper floor
was provided with platform
for minimum space usage. The
piston platform provides direct
access to the upstairs rest and
observation volume. A transparent
material was used on
the shell, with reference to the
traces of a virtual mass that
intersect the horizontal mass
perpendicularly. Fluid spaces
were envisaged in the project.
Instead of limiting architectural
elements such as walls, furnishings
are limited to spaces. Mobile
modules and bicycles were
made available to researchers
by giving them the opportunity
to experience alternative areas
to the transportation network.
Mobile modules consisting of
transparent surfaces were designed
over a double sphere
form. To ensure the movement,
rings intersecting on both sides
of the axle cutting the sphere
center were used.
