Please accept this letter of recommendation for Erica Womer, who is applying for employment
with your school district.
I have known Erica for many years. She was a dedicated and involved student of Halifax High
School. Erica always worked hard to earn good grades, which was reflective of her wonderful
attitude and work ethic. She displayed her writing talents through her involvement in many
English-based activities such as CORAL, the yearbook, and the student plays. As a senior, she
won a silver award in the Scholastic Writing Awards (no longer offered). She also exhibited great
leadership skills in becoming our color guard captain.
After graduating from our schools, Erica went on to Shippensburg University, where she
ultimately earned several teacher certifications. Since then, she has also continued to hone her
writing and communication skills in becoming a writer for Reflector magazine.
Erica has proved herself to be a great addition to our substitute teacher pool. She is always willing
to come in on short notice and pitch in with any activities. Somehow, she comes in with a smile
on her face every time. Whenever she has subbed for me, I have returned to find that my
classroom is still neat and orderly. She also leaves me copious and dutiful notes to explain how
well the students did that day. It is always comforting to know that everything is in good hands
when Erica is here. Of course, none of this would be possible if she did not have good classroom
management skills and that special demeanor that is needed when dealing with teenagers.
Please contact me so that I may tell you even more about the great qualities this fine candidate has
to offer you. I can be reached at the address/phone number listed above, or at the email address
listed below.
Sincerely,
