PRESS RELEASE<strong>Shughuli</strong> <strong>za</strong> <strong>Kujitolea</strong> <strong>ni</strong> <strong>Tunu</strong><strong>Kubwa</strong> <strong>katika</strong> <strong>Vita</strong> <strong>na</strong> <strong>Majanga</strong><strong>Shughuli</strong> <strong>za</strong> kujitolea huimarisha jamii <strong>za</strong>idi <strong>na</strong> kupungu<strong>za</strong>madhara ya machafuko, kwa mujibu wa ripoti ya Umoja waMataifa.Bonn, Desemba 5, 2011 (Programu ya Wa<strong>na</strong>ojitolea ya Umoja wa Mataifa) – <strong>Shughuli</strong><strong>za</strong> kujitolea <strong>ni</strong> tunu kubwa <strong>katika</strong> kuwasaidia watu <strong>na</strong> jumuia kabla, wakati <strong>na</strong> baada yamachafuko <strong>na</strong> majanga asilia, Ripoti ya Hali ya <strong>Kujitolea</strong> Du<strong>ni</strong>a<strong>ni</strong> i<strong>na</strong>ele<strong>za</strong>.Ari ya kujitolea i<strong>na</strong> athari muhimu <strong>katika</strong> kuzuia machafuko. I<strong>na</strong>we<strong>za</strong> pia kusaidia <strong>katika</strong>hali ya machafuko <strong>na</strong> baada yake. Katika ngazi ya mtu mmoje mmoja, shughuli <strong>za</strong>kujitolea huonge<strong>za</strong> maelewano <strong>katika</strong> jamii, hivyo kuwafanya watu wasijitumbukize <strong>katika</strong>migogoro. Katika ngazi ya jumuia, kujihusisha kwa raia ku<strong>na</strong>imarisha kuami<strong>ni</strong>a<strong>na</strong> <strong>na</strong>kupungu<strong>za</strong> ukosefu wa usalama <strong>katika</strong> eneo husika. Ripoti i<strong>na</strong>pendeke<strong>za</strong> kwamba “jumuiaimara zenye uwiano madhubuti zi<strong>na</strong>we<strong>za</strong> kuwa vichocheo vya ama<strong>ni</strong>.” Mifano kutokaBos<strong>ni</strong>a <strong>na</strong> Herzegovi<strong>na</strong>, Cyprus, <strong>na</strong> Israel/Palesti<strong>na</strong> i<strong>na</strong>onyesha kwamba ai<strong>na</strong> mbalimbali<strong>za</strong> raia kujihusisha zi<strong>na</strong>we<strong>za</strong> kupungu<strong>za</strong> uwezekano wa kutokea kwa machafuko. Mifano<strong>ni</strong> pamoja <strong>na</strong> kujishughulisha <strong>katika</strong> vyama vya wafanyakazi, vyama vya siasa <strong>na</strong> asasi <strong>za</strong>kitaaluma.Wakati wa machafuko, juhudi <strong>za</strong> kujitolea kutoka nje zi<strong>na</strong>we<strong>za</strong> kuwa chachu ya kuwafanyawatu wasijitumbukize <strong>katika</strong> machafuko. Ripoti hiyo i<strong>na</strong>toa mfano wa India ambakomachafuko ya kidi<strong>ni</strong> mara nyingi hutulizwa <strong>na</strong> „watu wa kujitolea wa ama<strong>ni</strong>‟ ambaohusuluhisha <strong>na</strong> kuwezesha kupatika<strong>na</strong> kwa maelewano muafaka. Na mfano mwingine,nchi<strong>ni</strong> Papua New Guinea kikundi cha Aki<strong>na</strong>mama wa Ama<strong>ni</strong> wa Kup kimekuwakikijishughulisha <strong>na</strong> kuleta utatuzi <strong>katika</strong> mapigano ya kikabila.Katika mazingira ya baada ya mapigano, ari ya kujitolea i<strong>na</strong>we<strong>za</strong> kuwa njia nzuri sa<strong>na</strong> yakuku<strong>za</strong> utengamano <strong>na</strong> ama<strong>ni</strong> pale ambapo mahasimu wa <strong>za</strong>ma<strong>ni</strong> wa<strong>na</strong>unga<strong>ni</strong>ka <strong>katika</strong><strong>na</strong>m<strong>na</strong> mpya.
