Asia Pacific Sign Linguistics Research and Training ProgramPostgraduate Studentships (2013 – 2015)アジア 太 平 洋 手 話 言 語 学 研 究 および 手 話 研 修 プログラム大 学 院 課 程 奨 学 金 (2013-2015)Organized bySupported byInformation Note お 知 らせBackground and Aim 背 景 と 目 的The Asia Pacific Sign Linguistics Research and Training (APSL) Program, funded by The Nippon Foundation ofJapan and coordinated by The Centre for Sign Linguistics and Deaf Studies (CSLDS) of The Chinese Universityof Hong Kong (CUHK), represents an unprecedented attempt in the region to support deaf and hearingindividuals intending to take on sign linguistics research and deaf development projects as their career. Theobjectives of the APSL Program are: 1) to generate a group of deaf and hearing individuals with expertise forpursuing collaborative research and professional training in Sign Linguistics, Sign Language Teaching, andDeaf Studies preferably at the tertiary institutions of Asian countries; 2) to assist Asian universities and Deaforganizations in developing Sign Linguistics research and training, with the ultimate goal of building aconsortium of Asian institutions intending to develop Sign Linguistics as a research discipline; 3) to documentthe sign language varieties of the Asia Pacific region leading to the production of sign language dictionariesand teaching/learning materials. With the generous support from The Nippon Foundation, the APSL Programoffers training opportunities for Deaf and hearing students. Condition of Studentship 奨 学 金 の 応 募 要 件i. All applicants have to be interviewed by the Selection Board of the Asia Pacific Sign Linguistics Researchand Training (APSL) Program.応 募 者 は、アジア 太 平 洋 における 手 話 言 語 学 の 研 究 および 研 修 (APSL)プログラムの 選 考 委 員による 面 接 を 受 ける 必 要 があります。ii. Successful candidates have to provide proofs of successful admission to the M.A. Programme inLinguistics of the Department of Linguistics and Modern Languages, CUHK.面 接 合 格 者 は、 香 港 中 文 大 学 言 語 学 部 の 言 語 学 修 士 課 程 の 入 学 許 可 の 証 明 を 提 出 しなければなりません。iii.
