Many factors determine the next generations’
relationship with their family business. In this
session two members of the next generation,
Ronan (Clancy Group) and Rupa (Day Lewis),
will talk about what compelled them to join their
family firms, what entices them to stay, the
challenges they have overcome and their advice
to others thinking about their future.

ROSS WARBURTON
Cousins Brett, Jonathan and Ross took over
their family firm in their early 30s, and have
since built the business into a nationwide brand.
Ross and Jonathan will share some of the lessons
they learnt through this experience and how
this has shaped how they involve their own
next generation.

Carole, Professor of Entrepreneurship and Family
Business at the University of Bradford, will share
findings from the latest IFB Research Foundation
study into next generation engagement.

A 3-part workshop aimed at helping younger family members to
better understand and give voice to their needs and aspirations for

generations of this successful family about how they are empowering

Behind the Mask (Part 2) With Susan Kaye, The Challenge of
Excellence. Get crafty in this session, where you will create your
own mask and explore what you want to share from behind it the
following day.
The Masks we Wear With Francesco Lombardo, Veritage. This
session will help you discover the mask you wear in your family and
uncover the story you hide behind.
Open Space With Oasis School of Human Relations. This workshop
will explore in depth some of the issues raised in the Marketplace
of Ideas.
Next Generation Inquiry IFB Next Generation members will share
their personal journeys and reflect on their learnings from the
collaborative IFB Inquiry.
Business Transformation With Charles Le Strange Meakin, KPMG.
This session will explore the challenges family businesses are
facing in transformational times and how to prepare to ensure long
term success.

will launch the latest IFB Research Foundation report, unveiling key
findings and frameworks for next generation engagement.

Empowering The Next Generation Through Philanthropy With Paddy

generation empowerment.
Behind the Mask (part 3) With Susan Kaye, The Challenge of
Excellence. Share your thoughts from behind the mask you built and
invite a member of your family to wear your mask, putting themselves
in your shoes.
The Kids Are Alright: How Are the Seniors? With Ken McCracken,
KPMG. There is a lot of information on helping the next generation
prepare for ownership and leadership. But what support do the
seniors need?

How Do You Talk About Wealth In Your Family? Facilitated by Smith &
Williamson. Wealth - does it motivate, scare or turn off younger family
members? How do you educate the next generation about money and
how do you pass it on?
Next Generation Inquiry IFB Next Generation members will share
their personal journeys and reflect on their learnings from the
collaborative IFB Inquiry.
3:00pm – 4:45pm Inspiration and Learning From Business Families
With Maria del Mar and Gonzalo Raventós, Codorniu. In this panel
session two generations of the family business behind Spanish Cava
will share how they engage the 150 next generation members of
their family.
With Ross and Jonathan Warburton, Warburtons. In the final panel
session Ross and Jonathan will talk about the challenges and
opportunities they faced when being handed the reins of the family
firm, and how this has influenced their plans for engaging their
next generation.
