Crown Hills Community College
From Aspiration to success
Crown Hills wins the Premier League trophy…(for a day)
As a result of the great partnership work we do with Leicester City FC,
we were lucky enough to receive the actual trophy for an afternoon.
A number of nominated students were given the opportunity to have
a photograph taken alongside the trophy. We also invited Mayflower
Primary School to bring a small group of deserving students to have
their photographs taken too. This proved to be one long photograph
shoot!
Mr Keast, Assistant Principal and Director of Sport said, ‘We are
both honoured and grateful for this opportunity to showcase the
Premiership trophy. It takes us all back to the heady days of last season when the team
overcame all the odds to win the league for the first time in its history. The great belief
the players and the manager had in each other and the fantastic support afforded by the
supporters for their heroes all played a part in the momentum of the challenge. The
magical climb to the summit was great testimony to the power of teamwork and that,
despite other teams possessing much more expensive and debatably
more talented players, the whole country galvanised behind this
impossible dream. Leicester City are the Kings of England and few
can argue that this ranks as one of the biggest sporting upsets
in the history of modern sport. Good luck to them as they try to
replicate this feat in Europe.’
