beginning of Chapter Fourteen is typical of an ECE classroom today. Diversity in many forms beyond language and
ethnicity is standard in the majority of our schools. After reading Chapters Eight and Fourteen, share three skills or
understanding that would best prepare an early childhood educator to work with diverse learners and diverse
backgrounds. Reference these skills to specific pages within your text. What are the challenges you see when trying to
support children and families in diverse communities? Support your ideas with resources from the course (text, videos)
and at least one additional outside resource.
Guided Response: Review several of your classmates posts. Respond to at least two and reflect on the ideas they
addressed in their posts. Challenge them by asking questions, connecting your own experiences or resources to
overcome the obstacles they shared. Remember to be use respectful language in your response. This section lists
options that can be used to view responses.
