Κατά καιρούς έγινε κατάλυμα
και φιλοξένησε την φρουρά των
γενιτσάρων στην Θεσσαλονίκη.
Άγρια σφαγή 500 περίπου
γενιτσάρων έγινε στον Πύργο το
1826 κατά διαταγή του
σουλτάνου Μαχμούτ του Β΄
Το 1878 γίνεται μεταφορά
βαρυποινιτών από το Λευκό
Πύργο στο Επταπύργιο.
Εξακολουθεί όμως να είναι
κεντρική φυλακή της
Θεσσαλονίκης.
Over the times it was used as a
shelter that put up the guards of
the janissaries. Approximately
500 janissaries were brutally
slaughtered in the Tower in 1826
by the command of the sultan
Mahmoud the second.
In 1878 there is a transportation
of the heavily sentenced from the
White Tower to the Eptapyrgio.
However, it still remains the
central prison of Thessaloniki.
