Tips To Maintain Your Hair Color
You just left the salon and spent a small fortune, but your hair has never looked better, and all
you can think about is how to keep it like this. Architeqt Salon is here to tell you the do’s and
don’ts to maintaining your hair color as soon as you step out of the salon.
Before you even leave the salon, be sure to get yourself a moisturizing, color safe, shampoo
and conditioner. Over the counter products contain a lot of sulfates and detergents which can
make it cheaper and more pocket appealing. However, naturally putting something inexpensive
over something expensive is going to dull its shine. Just think of it as insurance for your hair.
Skip your next shower, well for at least 24 hours. The color needs time to settle and find a new
home in your hair cuticle. Pre-planning your showers around your week are super helpful also,
to prevent over washing. Dry Shampoo is the next best thing to get an extra day or 2 between
showers. When you get into shampooing be sure to be focused on the root areas not so much
the ends.
Heat and Uv protectants play a big part especially in the summer time with keeping your fading
and brassiness at bay. Heat is the enemy, you want to be using something that creates a barrier
between your hair and your iron or blowdryer. Summer time everyone needs a dose of vitamin
d, the problem is, the uv rays are soaking up your color while your having fun in the sun. You
want a leave in conditioner that contains a uv protectant that will have your back from the sun.
Last but not least think twice before you take a quick dip in the pool. That quick dip has the
potential to take out a lot of your color and wash your hard earned money down the drain. The
chlorine can even stain your blonde to a pale green if you don't take precaution before your
swim. Here at Architeqt Salon, as well as other top hair salons in Philadelphia, we suggest that
you wet your hair with water before you swim, or spray in a leave in conditioner. Although
summer is coming to an end, the fun in the sun doesn't always stop there, and i hope these tips
and tricks help keep your hair as fantastic as the moment you left our doors!
