East Coast explorer
Commencing your journey in Launceston
with time to explore the region taking in
the Tamar Island Wetlands walk, and a visit
to Grindelwald Swiss Village and some
local wineries.
Travelling east from Launceston, travelling
across the Tamar River following the
‘Targa’ route through Nunamara and Targa,
take the opportunity to visit Pyengana
Cheese factory before arriving in St Helens,
continuing south through Scamander,
Four Mile Creek and Bicheno – take a short
exploration into Freycinet National park,
visit Wineglass Bay. Arrive into Swansea.
Explore the Bark Mill and Wine & Wool
Centre at Swansea before continuing south
across magnificent coastal scenery en route
and stopping to view the convict-built
Spiky Bridge. Stopping in at Richmond
where historic treasures include Australia’s
oldest bridge, oldest church and a perfectly
preserved jail. Continue onto Hobart.

West Coast Wilderness
Heading out from Hobart with a stop at
Hamilton famous for its craft centres, visit
Tarraleah Village, an old hydro town which
boasts gorgeous art deco cottages. Enjoy
lunch here before proceeding to Lake St
Clair. Continue onto Queenstown, with a
short walk at Nelson Falls nature trail before
arriving at Strahan.
Take a journey down the Gordon River
aboard World Heritage Cruises, leaving early
in the morning taking you into the heart of
World Heritage area.
Travelling north/west from Strahan through
to Zeehan and a visit to the West Coast
Pioneers’ Memorial Museum. Innkeepers
