Day 1: The Great Ocean Road Departing cosmopolitan<br />

Melbourne<br />

Travel west to Geelong and the surf town of Torquay, iconic Bells<br />

Beach, then along the beautiful Great Ocean Road. Koala spotting<br />

at Kennett River, lunch in Apollo Bay. Then to Twelve Apostles and<br />

Loch Ard Gorge, spending the night in Warrnambool. (L)<br />

Day 2: The Grampians<br />

View more Great Ocean Road’s wonders , then drive into the<br />

Grampians National Park – rich in Aboriginal culture and beautiful<br />

landscapes. Visit Brambuk Aboriginal Culture Centre. Hike up to<br />

the Pinnacles for views across the Grampians. Tonight a traditional<br />

Aussie BBQ in Halls Gap. (B/D)<br />

Day 3: The Grampians to Adelaide<br />

Hike up to McKenzie Falls, the highest waterfalls in the Grampians,<br />

see The Balconies and Reeds Lookout. Leaving the Grampians, pass<br />

through Horsham before crossing the famed mighty Murray River<br />

and making the last leg of the journey into Adelaide. (B)<br />

Itinerary<br />

Day 1: Alice Springs - Uluru<br />

Head south through the Waterhouse and James Ranges. Stop<br />

at the Camel Farm for a Camel ride (own expense). We stop at<br />

Mount Ebenezer Roadhouse where you can view or purchase<br />

Aboriginal artefacts. Stop to view Atila (Mount Connor). Arrive<br />

at the Uluru - Kata Tjuta National Park, we head to the Cultural<br />

Centre, learn about the local Aboriginal law and religion<br />

(Tjukurpa). We then head to the base of Uluru. Meet our local<br />

Aboriginal Guide who will provide an authentic Indigenous<br />

cultural experience with an interpretive walk to Mutitjulu<br />

Waterhole, followed by dot painting session. Experience the<br />

famous changing colours of Uluru at sunset. Then settle in at our<br />

remote private camp, retire to your swag under the amazing<br />

night sky or safari tent bed.<br />

Day 2:<br />

Watch the sunrise over Uluru and Kata Tjuta, then Kata Tjuta<br />

for a 7km hike through “Valley of the Winds”. Then to Kings<br />

Creek Station for remote private outback campsite.<br />

Day 4:<br />

Explore the mighty West MacDonnell Ranges. Travelling to<br />

Ormiston Gorge. Hike the “Ghost Gum Walk”, a 1.5-hour loop<br />

that takes in views down through the majestic Ormiston Gorge.<br />

Then to the Ochre Pits, and Ellery Creek Big Hole, one of the<br />

most picturesque swimming and walking spots in the West<br />

MacDonnell Ranges. 4WD into our remote campsite located<br />

at Hugh River.<br />

Day 5:<br />

4WD through the Owen Springs Reserve. At the end of the track<br />

we cross over the Stuart Highway and continue to 4WD into<br />

Rainbow Valley. Then make the journey back to Alice Springs<br />

and your chosen accommodation approximately 5.30pm.<br />
