The PS Emmylou is the only wood-fired paddlesteamer in
the world offering regular overnight cruising. Catering for just
18 guests in 9 cabins Emmylou exudes old-world charm whilst
offering modern comforts. Emmylou is fueled by redgum logs
and is driven by a completely restored 1906 steam engine built
to the highest world classification standards. She is perfectly
at home in the Port of Echuca, residing with the very few
remaining paddlesteamers of the past.

paddlesteamers in the world offering accommodated cruising.
Experience the magic of the Murray River and follow in the wake
of early history when Echuca was Australia’s largest inland port.
Enjoy riverside campfires and barbecues. Visit a vineyard for
tastings and see world heritage wetlands and Australian culture
on a day excursion. All whilst discovering the sights and sounds
of the river aboard a traditional paddlesteamer.

Take a guided walk to see Watarrka (Kings Canyon). Visit the
Amphitheatre, Lost City and the tranquil ‘Garden of Eden’.
Then 4WD along the Mereenie Loop Road. Then arrive at our
permanent camp at Glen Helen.

Day 1: The Great Ocean Road Departing cosmopolitan
Melbourne
Travel west to Geelong and the surf town of Torquay, iconic Bells
Beach, then along the beautiful Great Ocean Road. Koala spotting
at Kennett River, lunch in Apollo Bay. Then to Twelve Apostles and
Loch Ard Gorge, spending the night in Warrnambool. (L)
Day 2: The Grampians
View more Great Ocean Road’s wonders , then drive into the
Grampians National Park – rich in Aboriginal culture and beautiful
landscapes. Visit Brambuk Aboriginal Culture Centre. Hike up to
the Pinnacles for views across the Grampians. Tonight a traditional
Aussie BBQ in Halls Gap. (B/D)
Day 3: The Grampians to Adelaide
Hike up to McKenzie Falls, the highest waterfalls in the Grampians,
see The Balconies and Reeds Lookout. Leaving the Grampians, pass
through Horsham before crossing the famed mighty Murray River
and making the last leg of the journey into Adelaide. (B)

most locations will have an ensuite however in some cases
facilities will be shared. This trip departs from Melbourne at
approximately 7am and finishes in Adelaide at approximately
6.30pm on day 3. We recommend onward travel be booked to
depart the following day.

Itinerary
Day 1: Alice Springs - Uluru
Head south through the Waterhouse and James Ranges. Stop
at the Camel Farm for a Camel ride (own expense). We stop at
Mount Ebenezer Roadhouse where you can view or purchase
Aboriginal artefacts. Stop to view Atila (Mount Connor). Arrive
at the Uluru - Kata Tjuta National Park, we head to the Cultural
Centre, learn about the local Aboriginal law and religion
(Tjukurpa). We then head to the base of Uluru. Meet our local
Aboriginal Guide who will provide an authentic Indigenous
cultural experience with an interpretive walk to Mutitjulu
Waterhole, followed by dot painting session. Experience the
famous changing colours of Uluru at sunset. Then settle in at our
remote private camp, retire to your swag under the amazing
night sky or safari tent bed.
Day 2:
Watch the sunrise over Uluru and Kata Tjuta, then Kata Tjuta
for a 7km hike through “Valley of the Winds”. Then to Kings
Creek Station for remote private outback campsite.
Day 4:
Explore the mighty West MacDonnell Ranges. Travelling to
Ormiston Gorge. Hike the “Ghost Gum Walk”, a 1.5-hour loop
that takes in views down through the majestic Ormiston Gorge.
Then to the Ochre Pits, and Ellery Creek Big Hole, one of the
most picturesque swimming and walking spots in the West
MacDonnell Ranges. 4WD into our remote campsite located
at Hugh River.
Day 5:
4WD through the Owen Springs Reserve. At the end of the track
we cross over the Stuart Highway and continue to 4WD into
Rainbow Valley. Then make the journey back to Alice Springs
and your chosen accommodation approximately 5.30pm.
