Aspire for Year 11's

Aspire: the action of directing your hopes or ambitions towards achieving something
Aspire: What is it?
‘Aspire’ is our new Year 11 Support Program
No matter what, we want of all our students to try their best in all their subjects; to do
their best in the classroom, to bring their best to school every day, and to take advantage
of what they are being offered outside of school.
‘Aspire’ is a support program designed to encourage students to acknowledge they can
do better than they are.
How does it work?
1) All Year 11 teachers are aware that some students are on our Aspire Program
2) Over the next two half terms, teachers will continue to monitor
a. classwork
b. attitude
c. behaviour for learning
d. attendance to revision sessions
3) Form tutors and our Year 11 Leader will continue to encourage students to bring a
little more focus to their school work and to commit to other opportunities if they
would be of benefit
4) There will be regular review points where teachers will have the opportunity to
comment on whether they have seen an improvement in the areas outlined above
5) Students will be encouraged to become more active in their own improvement by
setting themselves small, concrete targets for improvement
6) Students will stay in touch with Mrs Levesley during regular Friday assemblies in
the Sixth Form Common Room
7) After Half Term some students will be partnered with teacher mentors
8) Year 12 subject mentors will be linked with specific students if appropriate
9) Some students will have the opportunity to participate in a 3 day Easter Revision
Workshop running from 10.00am - 2.30pm on Tuesday 3 rd of April – Thursday 5 th
of April.
I very much look forward to working with Year 11 students over the next few months. As
you can see we are passionate about ensuring that all of our students achieve results they
can be proud of in August.
Their GCSE results really are the keys to their future.
