Geçmiş birikimleri ile yarına dair öngörüler
üzerine ‘görsel zaman mektupları’ olarak
tasarlanmış olan ‘Mektuplar’, son 40 yılın
okuması niteliğini taşıyor. Türk fotoğrafının
önemli isimlerinden biri olan Kamil Fırat, sergiye
dair yaklaşımını şöyle ifade ediyor:
“Fotoğrafçı, deklanşöre her bastığında hem
kendi, hem de toplumsal belleğe bir ek yapar.
Biriktirir, biriktirir... Sonra bir gün bu
biriktirdiklerinin, bir ‘görsel hafıza’ya
dönüştüğünü ve artık bir anlamda ‘sadece’
kendine ait olmadığına karar verir.
Ve bir şey daha belirginleşir; çektiği her fotoğraf,
çekildiği zaman diliminde de ‘bir gelecek
okuması’ydı... Üretilen her bir ‘şey’, gelecek
üzerine söylenen bir söz, dile getirilmiş ‘kaygı’lar
üzerine metinlerdi.
Nasıl bir dünyada yaşadık, yaşıyoruz,
yaşayacağız...
Bizi de içine almış olan dünyaya karşı
sorumluluklarımız, sorumsuz davranışlarımız...
Çevre ile iletişimimiz, etkileşimimiz... Sosyal,
siyasal dünya... Doğuşlar, çöküşler...
Düne ait bütün bunları yarının insanına, yani
çocuklarımıza anlatabilmek için yaşamış olmamız
gerekiyor.”
Sergi iki ana bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci
bölüm; o günleri anlatma olanağı veren
yaşadıklarımız. Burada seçilen fotoğrafların
hepsinin ortak paydası; hem çekildikleri zamanı,
hem de o günün geleceğine dair olması
üzerinedir.
Diğer bölüm ise; gelecek üzerine tahminleri
içermektedir. Çoğu fotoğrafçı, fotoğraflarının bir
zaman kapsülü içinde yer almasını ve gelecekte
okunmasını gönlünden geçirir. Kamil Fırat’ın
‘Mektuplar’ sergisi de, bu amaçla tasarlanmış
olup, geçmiş 40 yılın geleceğe dair tahminlerini
içerir.
The exhibition is a reading of the last 40 years
and designed as a visual time letters with its
accumulation and foresight. Kamil Fırat who is
one of the most important Turkish
photographers explains his approach to the
exhibition:
“Whenever the photographer press the shutter,
he adds pieces of images on his own memory
and the social memory. He accumulates and
accumulates… Then one day, he realizes this
accumulation turned into a visual memory and it
did not belong just to him.
And also something else becomes clear; every
picture he took was a future reading, too.
Something is produced or a word is said about
the future were the texts about apprehensions
that put into words. What a world we have been
living and will be lived in…
Our responsibilities and irresponsible behaviors
to the world we live in… Our communication and
interaction with the environment… Social and
political world… Rises and collapses…
We have to go through with all these things
which belongs to yesterday, to tell to people of
tomorrow, our children who will live similar
situations future.”
The exhibition is formed by two main parts.
First part is our experiences which help us to
remind those days. Common point of the photos
in this part is based on the day taken shoot and
also they are about future of that day. And the
second part includes foresight of the future.
Most of the photographers wishes to his photos
will be in a time capsule and be seen in the
future.
Letters exhibition of Kamil Fırat is designed for
this purpose and includes foresight about the
future of last 40 years.
