The Central Valley Corvette Club was
chartered in 1991 for the owners of the only
real AMERICAN sports car, the awesome
CORVETTE. It's a social organization with
activities that provide enjoyment for the true
Corvette lover.
MONTHLY MEETINGS ARE HELD
AT 6.30 P.M. ON THE 3 RD TUESDAY
OF EVERY MONTH AT YOSEMITE
FALLS CAFE, 4278 W. ASHLAN AVE,
FRESNO CALIFORNIA. INTERESTED

ATTEND THE MEETINGS AND MEET
OUR MEMBERS.
Club activities include monthly meetings,
car shows, weekend Club activities,
overnighters, picnics, road rallies, summer
cruises, holiday get-to-gathers and more!
Eligibility for membership in CVC is
defined in Article III, section 1 of the
bylaws in part as follows: "Membership in
Central Valley Corvettes shall be open to all
Corvette owners who are sponsored by a
member in good standing. Additionally, a
prospective member must, within a three
month period , attend two consecutive
meetings, participate in two club sanctioned
social activities, pay current membership
dues and initiation fees, and be approved by
two- thirds vote of membership present at
any general membership meeting by secret
ballot
Sponsors shall be responsible for advising
prospective member of results. All members
must submit proof of personal insurance in
accordance with California State Law upon
application for membership, and all
members must be a member of the
association providing club liability
insurance for CENTRAL VALLEY
CORVETTES.
A prospective member who does not have a
sponsor will be provided one by the
membership committee. Non-members may
not participate in more than three meetings
or two sanctioned activities.
CVC membership dues are $67.00 plus an
initiation fee of $35.00. Membership entitles
two members at the same address voting
privileges at meetings (provided they are in
good standing) and membership rights.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY

the outstanding turnout and the
input received from our members, the
Central Valley Corvettes June 1 picnic at
Kroekerville can be classified as an
overwhelming success.
This event was made possible by a variety of
people including the Kroeker’s for opening up
the venue, your CVC board which came up with
the event and you the members who showed up
in strong numbers and participated in the salsa
and dessert contests as well as contesting for
prizes.
We had around 65 people attend which is about
80% of the club, and they were treated to a
delicious taco luncheon with “made from
scratch” tortillas. A four piece mariachi band
entertained us during our meal and the desserts
and homemade salsa and chips rounded out a
fantastic afternoon. Several couples that we
seldom see at our monthly meetings attended
and it is good to see them doing well. Hopefully
they can find the time to visit us occasionally on
the third Tuesday of each month at Yosemite
Falls.
At this point, the picnic was a one shot deal.
But with the positive comments, perhaps an
annual event such as this should be considered.
Complimented by our annual Christmas party,
which is largely subsidized by your annual dues,
a midyear picnic would give as a major social
event every six months. Perhaps at our June
17th meeting we can have a discussion and vote
and create a club picnic as a perpetual event.
The second annual Hansen President’s Mystery
Run is coming up at the end of September. We
had two couples sign up at the picnic bringing
the total to 28 people, or 14 cars. If you are still
considering going with us, time is becoming
critical. I blocked several hotel rooms, but
those extra rooms will have to be released the
day following our June 17th meeting. That
means if you decide later that you want to go,
there is no guarantee that our host hotels will
have any available rooms.
In case you missed it, the Mystery Run will be
from Monday September 29 to Friday, October
3. The cost is $1,100 per couple and the first
installment of $550 is due now, with the
remaining $550 payable at the August 20th club
meeting.

An important element to the picnic was the fact
it was entirely supported by club dues. With our
newsletter now electronic, the savings in postage
this year enabled us to pull this off with a budget
of $1,500.

General Meeting Minutes
May 20, 2014
President Craig Hansen called the General
Meeting to order at 6:31pm. The minutes from
the April general meeting were read by Kim
Fosnaugh. Leigh Ann Severance made a motion
to accept the minutes as read which was
seconded by Joyce Kroeker.
Membership Chairman, Charlie Fosnaugh
reported we currently have 82 members and
introduced 4 visitors and prospective
members. Treasurer Fred Parks gave the
Treasurer’s report. There were no questions.
Skip Severance, Vice President of Public
Relations reviewed the April Birthdays and
Anniversaries and important happenings on
their dates. Pam Hansen, Vice President of
Activities had run leaders report on their
pervious runs of Clovis Rodeo Parade and
Superior Dairy. Upcoming runs of a movie day,
the Great Central Valley Chili Cook-off, Word
from Home Car Show, Picnic, Snelling Car
show, Domino Day, Firebaugh Queen Haul and
Presidents Mystery Run were discussed. Lupe
Dawson, Sergeant at Arms found that everyone
remembered their name badges and no money
was collected. Our Sunshine reporter, Jan
Pflepsen shared current news from our
members. Our Parliamentarian, Linda
Laningham had nothing to report this month.
Craig Hansen gave a hint of information about an
epic adventure in 2016 so everyone could start
thinking ahead. The tour would take us thru the
Northwest via Yellowstone, Glacier National Park,
Banff, Lake Louise, Coeur d’Alane and Klamath
Falls.
The next Board meeting will be held the 4th
Tuesday of the month, May 2th at the Hansens’.
The next General meeting will be June 17th.
Charlie Fosnaugh motioned to adjourn the
meeting and was seconded by John Bird.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:12 pm

It is hearing the lusty cry of your newborn baby,
and the sharing and caring for the small fragile life
that you made. It is working each day to provide
for your own, and going to do zoo when you would
rather be at home. Being a father is helping each
child face the world and challenges of today, and
showing them the wisdom of choosing to go the

child has broken the rules, and lifting them up
when they have learned from life’s hardest school.
It is letting go of your children when they go their
own ways, and having the knowledge to know that
they will be forever changed after doing so. It is
giving away your little girl to another man and
having to trust someone else to take over the
protective and provider role that once belonged
only to you. A fathers job is not an easy one, ask
any father and he will tell you so, but a good father
will also tell you that no matter what he had to
endure, the end justified the means and was always
