CENTRAL VALLEY CORVETTES

The Central Valley Corvette Club was
chartered in 1991 for the owners of the only
real AMERICAN sports car, the awesome
CORVETTE. It's a social organization with
activities that provide enjoyment for the true
Corvette lover.
MONTHLY MEETINGS ARE HELD AT
6.30 P.M. ON THE 3 RD MONDAY OF
EVERY MONTH AT YOSEMITE
FALLS CAFE, 4020 N. CEDAR AVE,
FRESNO CALIFORNIA. INTERESTED

MEETINGS AND MEET OUR
MEMBERS.
Club activities include monthly meetings,
car shows, weekend Club activities,
overnighters, picnics, road rallies, summer
cruises, holiday get-to-gathers and more!
Eligibility for membership in CVC is defined
in Article III, section 1 of the bylaws in part
as follows: "Membership in Central Valley
Corvettes shall be open to all Corvette
owners who are sponsored by a member in
good standing. Additionally, a prospective
member must, within a three-month period,
attend two consecutive meetings, participate
in two club sanctioned
social activities, pay current membership
dues and initiation fees, and be approved by
two-thirds vote of membership present at a
general membership meeting by secret ballot.
Sponsors shall be responsible for advising
prospective member of results. All members
must submit proof of personal insurance in
accordance with California State Law upon
application for membership, and all members
must be a member of the association
providing club liability insurance for
CENTRAL VALLEY CORVETTES.
A prospective member who does not have a
sponsor will be provided one by the
membership committee. Non-members may
not participate in more than three meetings or
two sanctioned activities as per CVC Bylaws.
CVC membership dues are $60 plus an
initiation fee of $35. Membership entitles two
adult members at the same address voting
privileges at meetings (provided they are in
good standing) and membership rights.

President’s message:
Well, here we are in February already.
Let’s all welcome our newest member Priscilla DeLeon as she was voted
in at the January meeting.
There are several day runs in the planning stages for the coming
months but please take any new ideas you might have to Gary our VP
of Activities. Let’s get that calendar filled with as much fun as we can.
I have started working on my President’s run which will be June 1st &
2 nd so put that on your calendar. There will be a signup sheet at the
next meeting. I know it’s a long way away, but there are reservations to
lock in. Plan on two full days and one night for this event. I haven’t
decided if it will be a complete mystery as we’ve done in the past, but
you will know where you’re going on the day of.
Be aware of the meeting change for February which is now the 26 th .

TOM JARVIS
Tom and his wife Marcie have been members of the CVC family since 2016. Due first to Marcie’s health and
then Tom’s we have not seen much of then in the last few years.
Tom passed away on December 28 th because of complicaons that arose aer he had open Heart surgery last
year.
Tom was a quiet, kind, so spoken man. He was devoted to caring for Marcie during connuing health issues.
Tom and Marcie were married for 38 years.
Tom was a very acve volunteer at the Seniors center in Old Town Clovis for may years. I am sure he will be
greatly missed.
Tom loved to cook and kept a fantasc garden in his backyard that produced an abundance of vegetables and
berries. The CVC family will miss his presence.

FEBRUARY MEMBERSHIP REPORT
What an amazing January meeting we had due to the sheer number of
those in attendance! I was astonished. How exciting to have so many
visitors that are interested in joining our club. That being said, here are
a few interesting facts about CVC:
• CVC was established October 29,1991, making it 33 years old
• First general meeting was held November 12, 1991
• First event was a Halloween party on November 2 at the
Garrison’s
• First run was to Shaver Lake on December 8 lead by Don Olson
• First Christmas party was December 13 with 100% of members in attendance

CENTRAL VALLEY CORVETTES GENERAL MEETING -MINUTES OF JANUARY 15, 2024
President Lynne Henenfent called the meeting to order at 6:30 P.M.
Secretary Jody Webb –Lynne asked the members to approve the minutes of December 18, 2023, meeting, as
printed in the Newsletter. A motion was made to accept the minutes by Charlotte Renna and was seconded by
LeighAnne Severance.
VP of Public Relations/Membership – Pam Linsner reported that we have 68 members and 10 guests in
attendance- Tim & Tracy Burnett, Chris & Dee Salazar, Don Fairchild & his guest Marie, Peter Postoyan, and
Dana Beasley. Priscilla DeLeon will be voted on for membership tonight as she has completed the
requirements for membership. Anniversaries were announced. Congratulations went out to our Anniversary
winners Jimmy & Jody Webb. The new birthday drawing’s first winner is Debbie Garrison. The club now has 97
members.
Treasurer’s Report-Darlene Derringer read the Club’s Treasury Report with an accounting of the deposits
made and checks written for expenses and our current balance. A copy is attached. Julie Sons sold raffle
tickets for the meeting and collected $591.00.
VP of Activities-Gary Linsner - reported on past runs. Upcoming events include the Superbowl Party at
Lebda’s, and the Gambler’s Classic, St. Patrick’s Day gathering, Valentine’s Day Brunch, The Clovis Rodeo
Parade, and The Webber Car Show. More to come regarding these prospective runs. See our activities page for
further information.

Newsletter Update – Newsletters articles, flyers and pictures need to be sent to Charlie Fosnaugh by January
25, 2024.
Old Business – Lynne reported that we met with our donation recipients and gave them checks. We were able
to tour the Bully Rescue and sometime in June we will be allowed to attend the open house day at the Burn
Camp.
New Business- We stated that the Christmas Party is scheduled for December7th, and the Picnic will be May
5 th .
Sunshine News – MaryLou Lebda reported on the Sunshine and Clouds of the Members, a full report will be in
the newsletter.
Next General Meeting – Club One, Granite Park, Monday, February 26, 2024, at 6:30 PM
Next Board Meeting – The next board meeting will be 11:00 AM, January 24, 2024, at Lynne Henenfent.
Please let President Lynne Henenfent know if you plan on attending.
Meeting Adjourned – Lynne called for the meeting to be adjourned, Bob Peluso made the motion, and the
motion was seconded by Leigh Anne Severance. The meeting was adjourned at 7:27 P.M.

SUNSHINE AND CLOUDS
We had a lot of sunshine in our club last month. Laurie Dukes and Allen went on a
cruise to Hawaii. Looking at the pictures on Facebook they were having a
wonderful adventure. We welcomed two of our members to the January meeng
that have been absent due to health issues. Skip was there with a smile on his
face, and he said he felt much beer. That's great news, especially for Leigh Anne,
and her enre family. We also welcomed Walt back aer a long absence. So good
to see him and pray for his connued recovery. The Taco Bell wedding was a huge
success. Jody and Jimmy wrote their vows and believe me there was not a dry eye
in the room when they exchanged rings and promise their commitment to each
other for the next 30 years. As usual they had the enre weekend planned
thinking of their friend’s enjoyment. It was a weekend of special memories.

We are one month into 2024 and the activities list is starting to grow.
With the club membership bumping up against 100 members, the ideas
for event runs are flowing freely. With such a large and diverse group,
there is bound to be an event that appeals to everyone’s taste. If you
have an idea reach out to me and we will see if it can happen.

February 11, 2024

appetizers to dessert. We will be serving
Hot Dogs this year and will provide all
non- alcoholic beverages

Judy’s Donuts in The Trading Post Center on the SE corner of Herndon & Clovis Ave.
Donuts & Coffee from 7:45 to 8:00 am - No later than 8:00 am, Saturday morning.
We leave at 8:05 am to the parade staging area (Barstow, just west of Sunnyside).
We MUST be in place on Jefferson before 8:30 am as they close all of the streets in the area.
We will wait on Barstow approximately ½ to 1 hour until we are called on to line up.
Parade Theme: TBD
Wear/Bring: Car Flags and patriotic decorations for car decor, Water, Chair, Sunscreen or Umbrella, etc.
Rules:
Lunch:
ABSOLUTELY NO BURN-OUT OF TIRES. If one car spins its tires, we will all be escorted off
the parade route and never be invited back again. No throwing of candy or trinkets.
(Only walkers may hand out goodies). Yes, you MAY honk, wave, smile and sing!
