The name Wilo equally stands for<br />

represents more than 70 years of<br />

pump. Wilo were the first to apply<br />

the glandless pump design in the<br />

fields of water supply and pressure<br />

merger of the 1996-founded Wilo-<br />

Multistage not self-priming vertical high<br />

pressure centrifugal pump of Inline design,<br />

PN 16/25 or with victaulic coupling with<br />

equally sized suction and discharge ports.<br />

Stage construction with stainless steel<br />

impellers, diffusers and pressure casing.<br />

Pump stub shaft and motor spindle of the<br />

IEC-standards motor are directly close<br />

coupled. A separate stool mounted roller<br />

bearing serves to balance the axial forces<br />

so that any make of IEC-standard motor<br />

(mounting frames V 1 or V 18) can be used.<br />

Maintenance-free, bi-directional mechanical<br />

seal. All relevant parts suitable to handle<br />

food-compatible fluids.<br />

and discharge ports. Stage construction<br />

with stainless steel impellers, diffusers<br />

and pressure casing. Pump stub<br />

shaft and motor spindle of the IEC-standards<br />

motor are directly close coupled. A<br />

separate stool mounted roller bearing<br />

serves to balance the axial forces so that<br />

any make of IEC-standard motor (mounting<br />

frames V 1 or V 18) can be used.<br />

Maintenance-free, bi-directional mechanical<br />

seal. All relevant parts suitable to<br />

handle food-compatible fluids.<br />

Wilo-Economy MHIE<br />

Functions<br />

The pump is equipped with a three phase<br />

motor with integrated air-cooled frequency<br />

converter enabling an infinitely variable<br />

speed control between 40 and 100%<br />

(relating to a speed range from 1500 rpm<br />

to 3770 rpm) of the rated motor speed.<br />

Motor and speed controller are suitable<br />

for wiring to a 3 ~ 400 V / 50 or 60 Hz<br />

mains power supply. The permissible voltage<br />

tolerance is ±10%.<br />

All motors are equipped with comprehensive<br />

PTC motor protection.<br />

Low water will be detected by the motor<br />

control electronics; motors will in such<br />

event be automatically switched off.<br />

Current operating conditions will be indicated<br />

by three LED's integrated in the frequency<br />

converter panel.<br />

The pump can be run at different operating<br />

modes. The respectively required<br />

mode can be set by means of three DIP<br />

switches.<br />

1. Potentiometer control<br />

In this mode, which is possible without<br />

any further extras, the required motor<br />

speed is preselected by a potentiometer<br />

located inside the terminal box. It is<br />

recommended to make the setting to the<br />

required performance with the aid of suitable<br />

test tools (e.g. pressure gauges).<br />

The pump, now running at the preselected<br />

max. speed, will react in the same way<br />

as a fixed speed pump, i.e. it will operate<br />

along the preselected curve with the duty<br />

point always at the intersection with the<br />

currently effective system curve.<br />

(refer also to Fig. A)<br />

The factory-provided 'Remote On/Off<br />

control' is additionally available when<br />

operating in the potentiometer control<br />

mode.<br />

2. <strong>Pressure</strong> control 4 – 20 mA<br />

This mode requires an external analogue<br />

pressure sensor/transmitter (accessories)<br />

with which the control mode p = constant<br />

can be achieved (refer also to Fig. B). The<br />

required pressure setpoint value can be<br />

set by the potentiometer located inside<br />

the terminal box. A control signal < 2 mA<br />

will be valuated as a broken wire by the<br />

control electronics. Zero flow conditions<br />

will also be detected by the control electronics.<br />

At zero flow the pump will be switched<br />

off. On the system pressure dropping<br />

below the setpoint level the pump<br />

will be automatically restarted in order to<br />

maintain a constant pressure.<br />

To be applied in such cases where it is<br />

required for the direct control of the<br />

speed/frequency and thus the hydraulic<br />

performance of the pump from a central<br />

management system (BMS). The remote<br />

setpoint control can be applied to control<br />

pump operation to any duty point within<br />

the duty field. In this mode signals < 1 V or<br />

< 2 mA respectively will be valuated as<br />

'Remote Off'. The potentiometer, required<br />

for speed / frequency / pressure settings<br />

has no functions in the remote control<br />

operating mode.<br />

pump, PN 16/25, with inline suction and<br />

discharge ports.<br />

Sectional construction with stainless steel<br />

impellers, diffusors and pot casing. Close<br />

coupled pump and motor shafts by<br />

means of shell coupling. Axial forces are<br />

fully compensated by a separate lantern<br />

mounted roller bearing. Maintenance-free<br />

bi-directional mechanical seal. Variable<br />

speed controlled motor via attached frequency<br />

Wilo-Multivert MVIE<br />

Functions<br />

The pump is equipped with a three phase<br />

motor with integrated air-cooled frequency<br />

converter enabling an infinitely variable<br />

speed control between 40 and 100%<br />

(relating to a speed range from 1500 rpm<br />

to 3770 rpm) of the rated motor speed.<br />

Motor and speed controller are suitable<br />

for wiring to a 3 ~ 400 V / 50 or 60 Hz<br />

mains power supply. The permissible voltage<br />

tolerance is ±10%.<br />

All motors are equipped with comprehensive<br />

PTC motor protection.<br />

Low water will be detected by the motor<br />

control electronics; motors will in such<br />

event be automatically switched off.<br />

Current operating conditions will be indicated<br />

by three LED's integrated in the frequency<br />

converter panel.<br />

The pump can be run at different operating<br />

modes. The respectively required<br />

mode can be set by means of three DIP<br />

switches.<br />

1. Potentiometer control<br />

In this mode, which is possible without<br />

any further extras, the required motor<br />

speed is preselected by a potentiometer<br />

located inside the terminal box. It is<br />

recommended to make the setting to the<br />

required performance with the aid of suitable<br />

test tools (e.g. pressure gauges).<br />

The pump, now running at the preselected<br />

max. speed, will react in the same way<br />

as a fixed speed pump, i.e., it will operate<br />

along the preselected curve with the duty<br />

point always at the intersection with the<br />

currently effective system curve.<br />

The factory-provided 'Remote On/Off<br />

control' is additionally available when<br />

operating in the potentiometer control<br />

mode.<br />

2. <strong>Pressure</strong> control 4 – 20 mA<br />

This mode requires an external analogue<br />

pressure sensor/transmitter (accessories)<br />

with which the control mode p = constant<br />

can be achieved (refer also to Fig. B). The<br />

required pressure setpoint value can be<br />

set by the potentiometer located inside<br />

the terminal box. A control signal < 2 mA<br />

will be valuated as a broken wire by the<br />

control electronics. Zero flow conditions<br />

will also be detected by the control electronics.<br />

At zero flow the pump will be switched<br />

off. On the system pressure dropping<br />

below the setpoint level the pump<br />

will be automatically restarted in order to<br />

maintain a constant pressure.<br />

control function. A pressure sensor giving<br />

an output signal 0 - 10 V (accessories)<br />

4. Remote control operation 4 - 20 mA<br />

or 0 - 10 V respectively<br />

To be applied in such cases where it is<br />

required for the direct control of the<br />

speed/frequency and thus the hydraulic<br />

performance of the pump from a central<br />

management system (BMS). The remote<br />

setpoint control can be applied to control<br />

pump operation to any duty point within<br />

the duty field. In this mode signals < 1 V or<br />

< 2 mA respectively will be valuated as<br />

'Remote Off'. The potentiometer, required<br />

for speed / frequency / pressure settings<br />

has no functions in the remote control<br />

operating mode.<br />

Functions<br />

The pump is equipped with a three phase<br />

motor with integrated air-cooled frequency<br />

converter enabling an infinitely variable<br />

speed control between 40 and 100%<br />

(relating to a speed range from 1500 to<br />

3600 rpm) of the rated motor speed.<br />

Motor and speed controller are suitable<br />

for wiring to a 3-400 V / 50 Hz or 3-380 V /<br />

60 Hz mains power supply. The permissible<br />

management system ( BMS ). The remote<br />

setpoint control can be applied to control<br />

pump operation to any duty point within<br />

the duty field. In that case, signals < 1 V or<br />

2 mA will be valuated as “Remote Off”.<br />

Application<br />

The use of the bypass set always makes<br />

sense when the fluid contains a high<br />

amount of air or oxygen or shows a trend<br />

to gas formation.<br />

The bypass set serves to mainly avoid air<br />

or gases collecting in the upper region of<br />

MVI pump hydraulics where the mechanical<br />

seal is located.<br />

Typical applications where the use of<br />

the bypass installation is beneficial to<br />

the user are:<br />

Handling of hot condensate / pressure<br />

boosting where pump(s) displace water<br />

from atmospherically open break tanks.<br />

Application<br />

To upgrade water supply/pressure booster<br />

sets with series MVISE, MVIE and<br />

MHIE to be capable for automatic pressure-activated<br />

operation. The sensor to be<br />

installed at the discharge side of the<br />

pump.<br />

Note: Kindly observe the installation<br />

guide set out in the operating and maintenance<br />

instructions for the respective<br />

pump types.<br />
