Born in Bristol, England, grew up
mostly in Israel, and a few years in
Virginia, where her father worked
with NASA.
Rachel served two years in the
Israeli Navy, and spent a year
pregnancy and in 1994 she decided to
offer this service to other women and
opened her home-studio in Encino.
Rachel made a name for herself
RANDY DUNBAR
A
magazine is a process. It starts with an idea and
reaches out to others to join in the process—because
no magazine is done alone. There is the writing, the
photography, and the design: the three essentials ingredients that
go into making the stew we call a publication.
The word “magazine” is derived from the Arabic word
“makhazin” or “storehouse,” and was generally thought to mean a
collection of loosely-related stuff all bundled together in one big,
beautiful package.
A story often begins with a notion, a drawing on a sheet of
paper, an inspiration (frequently from other magazines!) and a
collaboration begins between a team of people.
We borrow heavily from friends, mostly photographers who
give gracefully their time and talents to an endeavor. We cajole
companies, writers, parking lot attendants to help create what can
only, in the end, be called a vision.
This issue is visionary, picking from some of the most talented
individuals that LA has to offer. Young fashion designers on their
way up, to masterful imagery by, yes, visionaries. This issue holds
the promise of the future.

online
by Sara Berkes
Maz Durbin
Founder of the LA-based style and fashion website, Sassenfras,
talks about her “signature” style
Can you tell me a bit about the history of Sassenfras?
Sassenfras was born in April of 2012, in a period of professional
malaise. I was a bit lost, burnt out mentally and just unsure of what
my next move was going to be. It started as an Australian-based
blog with only a handful of readers. Within three months, I saw I
was getting more California-based readers than homegrown ones.
By October of 2012 I was on a plane to LA, meeting with potential
PR firms to find one that could help me grow in the USA.
With a PR firm in place, the site has grown beyond my original
expectations with a healthy and ever-creasing readership, almost
16,000 fans on Facebook, and a raft of interviews and features with
various LA designers
under its belt.
Where does the
name Sassenfras
come from?
I’d love to be able to
tell you it has a deep
significance, but truth
be told I was sitting in
my favorite armchair,
my mind a bit of a
blank when I sounded
it out in my head. I
jumped on Google
straightaway to make
sure I hadn’t heard
it somewhere else. I
couldn’t find any reference
to it anywhere,
and it felt so perfect. It sounded sassy, feminine, and most importantly,
it was memorable.
Have you always been interested in the concept of a
signature style?
I have. The men and women I consider to be style icons all have a
“signature”. For example, Isabella Blow’s signature was an extraordinary
hat (usually designed by her friend and collaborator, Philip
Treacy), Debbie Harry’s is her platinum blonde hair, and with Anna
Wintour, it’s her hair/sunglasses and elegant ladylike attire.
What does having a signature style mean to you?
A signature style is a means of specifically expressing who you are
as an individual. If you regularly update your look with trends, then
you’re expressing a general love for fashion and that is perfectly
fine. A signature style is powerful, because it’s expressing your loves,
passions, and interests. It becomes your own unique identifier.
It’s important because when your personality and your style are
aligned, it creates a powerful confidence. A signature style says to
the world that you know who you are and are not afraid to express
it on your own terms.
How did you move from graphic design to the creation
of Sassenfras?
Fashion and graphic design are both visual languages so it seemed a
natural progression. The idea of creating a blog or a website wasn’t
daunting because I’d already
done those. The
creation of captivating
images using type,
color, and photography
is what I love to do.
Combining that love
with an almost lifelong
investment in reading
and learning about
fashion made sense to
me.
What are your
future goals for
Sassenfras?
I want Sassenfras to be
the go-to website for
women who are ready
to become style icons
in their own right. I want the website to be a place of inspiration,
where individual women of all ages, sizes, shapes, and ethnicities
are valued and celebrated for their style. I think what we all want
in life is to be remembered and valued for who we are. I want
Sassenfras to be a place where lovers of style can come to find
those pieces that will make them burst with confidence. Our style
is just one way to become what I think all of us most wish to be:
extraordinary.
Photo by Ellie Luna styled by Tiana Freeman for Freeman x Bell
Do you feel that Los Angeles has a special kind of
style or is influential for you?
Absolutely! It’s not that LA produces one particular kind of style,
it’s that it is the ultimate style melting pot. From Los Feliz to
Downtown you will see wonderfully diverse and confident self-expression
from men and women alike.
JIM TSELIKIS & SABIN LOMAC
BRINGING LOVE & LOBSTER TO LOS ANGELES
Jim Tseliki and Sabin Lomac
18
in
2012, Sabin and Jim Started their first food truck business in Los Angeles
called Cousins Maine Lobster. CML was featured on Shark Tank where they
sealed a deal with Barbara Corcoran, and have since appeared on The Chew,
Katie Couric, and Good Morning America. After such debuts, the company was
named Best Food Truck in LA for 2012 and 2013. Since then local foodies have been lining
up for their signature cult classic, The Lobster Roll. This buttery treat cannot only be found
on the truck but now on your very own door step. CML started an E-commerce business
and now sell Live Maine Lobsters, oysters and other pier favorites. Sabin and Jim call it
a “shore to door” experience. “Sourcing our Maine lobster is what is most unique to us.
Sabin and I are both from Maine, have our facility on a wharf in Maine, and source the best
Maine lobster there is. Providing the succulent and tender Maine lobster to customers is
so important. We want to see them smile, have a great experience, and continue coming
back. Being native Mainers, having an authentic story and having true roots and feet on the
ground in Maine is what differentiates us from any other business”.
By Noel Alumit
“I understand how it
is to shop with a little
one—it’s nearly impossible,”
said Michelle
Helseth, owner of the
recently opened Native
Boutique in Eagle Rock.
She wanted her store to
be Mom and Kid friendly,
making sure there’s a play area with snacks for
children. Soon, a TV will be installed for kids to
watch their favorite cartoons.
The aesthetics of the store was inspired by the
Baz Luhrmann movie The Great Gatsby. She
wanted women to feel warm, comfortable and
cozy while shopping. She’s aware that a woman’s
body changes after she gives birth, and wanted to
offer clothes to honor that change.
“We can be mothers, but still be women who
can be attractive,” she said.
Vertigo Salon LA
605 W Olympic Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90015
(213) 622-2101
By Katie Neblett
Over the last decade, the gentrification of Downtown
Los Angeles has led to a cultural renaissance, making
it an epicenter for restaurants, nightlife, shopping, and
ultra-lux, high-rise apartment homes. Situated just blocks from
Staples Center and L.A. Live, in the trendy South Park neighborhood,
is Vertigo Salon.
This full-service, luxury salon and spa boasts a talented roster
of beauty professionals that includes hairstylists, manicurist/
pedicurists, makeup artists, massage therapists, licensed estheticians,
and air-brush tanning experts. Located in the penthouse of
the historic Standard Oil Building, this 5,000 sq. ft. space blends
old Hollywood glamour with simple, modern elegance. The salon
features sleek concrete floors, plush white couches, beveled
glass mirrors, and black crystal chandeliers throughout. One look
at the space and you might think you’ve just stepped into a chic
Beverly Hills celebrity hangout, instead of an urban, concrete
office building in the heart of Downtown LA.
What once served as regional headquarters for John D.
Rockefeller’s legendary company, now houses renowned brands
such as Keratase, KMS California, and Murad Skin Care. The
space lends itself not only to beauty services, but to hosting
events as well; most recently the FIDM MODE Magazine
launch party.
The juxtaposition of the early 20th Century metropolitan
office space and the sleek design of a modern beauty salon encapsulate
the continued reformation of Downtown LA.
Vertigo Salon is open six days a week at 605 W. Olympic
Boulevard. For more information, visit vertigosalonla.com.
MULE POWER
A strange name, a sordid history,
made popular by Hollywood starlets,
the mule promises to be “the” fashion
shoe this spring
Let’s get this out of the way: mules were often associated
with prostitutes, then again, this was in the 18th century
and we’ve come a long way, baby.
It wasn’t until the 1950’s when a young actress
named Marilyn Monroe made the
mule popular, as did a host of other
actresses like Jane Russell and
Jayne Mansfield.
Mules became to be known as clogs in the 60s and
the popularity of this shoe was susbstantial in both culture
and sales.
Open or closed toe, high or low heel, chunky or thin,
the venerable mule always makes a statement.
LA DESIGNERS
Bex Taylor Klaus is far from your typical upand-coming
actress. She quickly developed a
cult fanbase after viewers were str uck by her
gender-bending character, Bullet, on Netflix’s
revived season of AMC’s The Killing. Catch
her on the upcoming season of Arrow, as
streetwise DC sidekick, “Sin.”
master class
Former FIDM student, Alejandro Ortega takes on the
fashion world...in his own way
BY SARA BERKES
Q Describe what you do in one
sentence.
I do moral ambiguity on a professional scale.
Q Where are you from?
Atlanta, GA
Q Where are you going?
Chasing the shadows.
Q What drives you there?
To be an actor is to visit the dark places others
strive to stay away from. I want to visit those
dark places. I always find the most interesting
spots of light there.
Q If you were to explain your belief
or theory of life to a 5 year old,
what would you say?
Even when life sucks, there is magic
everywhere. You just have to remember to look
up.
Q What’s your guilty pleasure? What
form does it take? (ex: Baking,
reading teenage thriller novels, etc)
I have this theory that if you feel any guilt,
it’s not a true pleasure. That being said, I do
have a deep love for Disney princesses and
honestly cannot get enough of the old cartoon
movies!
Former FIDM student Alejandro Ortega
loves fashion. Growing up in Morelia,
Mexico, Alejandro’s mother was a tailor,
fashion designer, and founder of a fashion
institute, and it was at twelve years old, after seeing
his mother’s first fashion show, that Alejandro realized
fashion was his calling.
Inspired by fashion greats such as Cristobal
Balenciaga, Yves Saint Laurent, and Christian Dior,
whom he describes as “innovators, creators, and masters
in the world of fashion,” Alejandro sees being
a fashion designer as “like being an actor. I can be
anyone when it comes to creating fashion. You are
always casting for new roles.”
Graduating from FIDM’s Fashion Design program
PHOTOGRAPHED in 2011, Alejandro BYreceived a full scholarship
KELLY WEBB
to present his Debut show in 2012. His show was
such a success that he was offered a second full
scholarship to study haute couture at the prestigious
Koefia Institute in Rome. Along with studying
fashion in school, Alejandro has had plenty of
hands-on work in the industry. As associate designer
at Bocanegra, Alejandro had the opportunity to dress
celebrities such as Eva Longoria, Reese Witherspoon,
and Mila Kunis. He has also worked for Louis
Verdad, David Salom, Akiko, Kevin Hall, Elisabetta
Rogiani, and French-American company, Jomsy Inc.
As for where he gets his own design inspiration,
Alejandro notes that it can come “from anything,
whatever catches my attention. It can be on the
Ballroom champion Suzanne Sapperstein, sashays her
way from parquet to the runway with Essera.88
PHOTOGRAPHED BY MATTHEW MITCHELL
STYLED BY TALIA M C ILWAIN
LINUS PETTERSSON RETOUCHING
In 2008, Swedish born Suzanne Saperstein put on her first pair of ballroom dance shoes
and set her goal to become nothing less than the world champion of Latin ProAm. Upon
discovering that the best dance coach in the world, Norwegian born Espen Salberg, had
retired to Bali, and only still coached a few select champions in the world, Suzanne packed
up her things and then Russian dance partner and flew across the
world. Suzanne’s enthusiasm to practice and perfect her routine under
the tutelage of such a legendary coach left her feeling more driven
than ever.
Besides being a world-class dance coach, Espen also worked as a
fashion designer, drawing his inspiration from his time in the professional
dance world. A short time after arriving in Bali, Suzanne attended
Espen’s black tie birthday, and Espen generously offered one of his
gowns to Suzanne for the evening. As fate would have it, the Scandinavian
due would go on to produce women’s evening wear line, Essera88,
and a world champion trophy only eighteen months later.
Soon after, another twist of fate fortuitously brought Suzanne,
who was wearing one of Espen’s designs, face to face with Marigay
McKee, CMO at Harrods Department Store in London. As Suzanne
had become a fixture in the world of couture, Marigay was keen to
know which designer she was wearing. Although Marigay had not
come across Espen’s line before, she was drawn to Suzanne’s passion for
the talented designer and saw an opportunity to challenge the duo to
put together an exclusive collection for Harrods. Espen and Suzanne
jumped at the exciting opportunity and together they overcame the
fifteen-hour time difference with sleepless nights and endless phone
Suzanne Saperstein
conversations. Espen explains, “We wanted to appeal to modern women
that work, travel, and do not want to spend a fortune on a dress but still look and feel great.”
All of the designs are unique in their beauty, yet also in that they do not wrinkle and are
machine washable. Suzanne clarifies, “You can throw them in your bag going to work, and
take them out when happy hour or dinner time comes around and still look amazing.”
Both Espen and Suzanne agree that Essera88 is about making today’s lifestyle easier for

thelosangelesfashion.com SPRING 2014 LA FASHION 27

women. Suzanne remarks, “Who carries an iron around any longer or wants to
spend a lot of money and time on dry cleaning? I think women should be able
to let loose, enjoy themselves, go out for a night of dancing and if someone spills
a drink on you, who cares? Just drop the dress in the sink and the next morning
after icing your feet and nursing that hangover, the dress will be as good as new.
Trust me…it works!”
Essera88 was formed from a shared passion and embodies the spirit of the
new generation of women. No matter if you are a single working gal, or married
with kids, you can slip into one of these spectacular dresses and embrace your
femininity, beauty, and enjoy what makes you the strong woman that you are.
Welcome to the world of Franz
Szony. Born in Reno, Nevada
and currently living in Los
Angeles, Franz Szony’s work
takes us on visual adventure into
the world of the subconscious,
where fashion meets Freud in
a phantasmagorial world of
images. Complicated vignettes
that require hours of production
and even more hours of
computer manipulation, each
image tells a story that we are
invited to decipher.
We sat down with Franz
to get a better idea about his
process, work and his upcoming
gallery show in Palm Springs
later this month.
“Art is a zeitgeist that cannot be touched.
It can be expressed in never-ending ways but
the core of “art” is subjective indefinitely.”
Lets start with your name, it’s so European,
yet you’re from Reno? How did your parents
come to give you the name Franz?
Yes, very Euro, its Czech and German. My fathers side of the
family wanted to name me “Fido” but fortunately my mom
vetoed that and named me Franz. My grandfathers name is
Francois, my fathers name is Ferenc…do you see a trend here?
In the process of creating your images, how
much is created after the photo is taken?
I try to set-up as much as I can prior, so the the scene is
“photo ready” …most people don’t actually realize that my
photographs are completely physical. I’ve often heard people
think they are stock photographs or fully composited, but
in reality I build the set completely and photograph each
character in the scene separately. That being said, I focus on
color alteration and tinting after the photograph is completed,
and a few other magic touches.
When you look for inspiration, where do you
usually go?
I’m mostly inspired from worlds that no longer exists /
times past. Im inspired from illustrations, children’s stories,
mythology, and theatrical characters. I love traveling, I could
sit at a cafe and people watch all day. Although I always feel
enlightened when staring at a beautiful sunset or enjoying
a haunting thunderstorm… I’m most inspired sitting in a
library with a stack of beautiful old books. Pierre et Gilles,
Joel Peter Witkin, Marc Davis, Alastair and Harry Clarke and
George Melies are all brilliant artists who greatly inspire me.
You have worked with Furne One, any other
designers who you have worked with?
I’ve done a lot of work with Furne because we share the
same love and aesthetic of drama, silhouette and theatricality.
The universe definitely aligned the two of us. I have
photographed Michael Cinco’s work for an editorial, which
is also magnificent. I would like to expand my connection
with other designers. I would greatly love to photograph
the works of the great “GGMM” I like to call it. (Gaultier,
Galliano, Mugler and McQueen).
What is the soundtrack you listen to while
working?
I mostly listen to orchestral music while I work, even during
the photoshoots this is what I play. It sets the tone for the
models and really puts people into character. Heavy beats
are great for bringing out the fierceness in a model, but
Tchaikovsky and Les Baxter help a model bring out the
emotion and character of a model. When I work on the
photo in post, I listen to a lot of Thomas Newman, John
Debney, Alan Silvestri. Enigma and Goldfrapp or also quite
lush and cinematic.
Is your work about art, fashion, the subconscious,
all of the above?
I like to create work as a theatrical exploration of all of
the above, somewhat. I’m not sure if my work is “about
art” because art is a zeitgeist that cannot be touched. It
can be expressed in never-ending ways but the core of
“art” is subjective indefinitely. Although I express fashion
in my images, I also never want to make work that follows
a trend or can be pinpointed to any specific time or place.
Transcendentalism is something I embody in my work, it
forces the viewer to think at a higher level when something
cannot be easily understood or identified. I love to celebrate
androgyny for the same reasons. I think when these
philosophies are applied, it inherently takes the viewer into a
“sub-conscious” state of mind. Much like that of dreaming,
the joy is to find the space in-between your thoughts.
The exhibit in Palm Springs has a theme, a
subject?
The exhibit in Palm Springs will be a continuation of my
show Hapenis, which I’ve shown at the Project One Gallery
in San Francisco and here in Los Angeles at the PopTart
Gallery. Each piece of my work takes roughly 3-4 months to
create, so as of now my gallery shows are a continuation of
the next with pieces added as I progress. The show reception
will be the evening of Thursday February 20th and will run
for four weeks.
Q Describe what you do in one
sentence.
I shine light on others aiming to inspire, uplift and
create humor through art forms of being a TV host
personality and actress.
Q How would you describe your
fashion style?
You caught me at the perfect time. I’m actually
defining my personal style right now. As a kid,
I got hand me downs from my big brother and
it usually looked like boys cargo pants. Now
I’m entering a new phase of life where I love a
comfortable, classy, beachy style.
But frankly, in my perfect world, I would never
want to wear the same outfit twice. I am always on
the lookout for new trends and designers because
I am so attracted to what is fresh and unique. My
style comes down to expressing what I am feeling
moment by moment and, like many women, that
is changing constantly!
Q Favorite designers?
What’s been catching my eye on the runway lately
is Sachika Twins, YOZE, Altaf Maneshia, and
Alexander McQueen. My attitude is open and
soulful right now where I see beauty all around me.
The designers that catch my attention usually touch
me with a positive, bright, and subtly sexy energy.
Q What’s your superpower or what’s
your spirit animal?
My superpower is the ability to see real visions.
I’ll see a vision in my mind’s eye and often it
will be manifested. It takes a lot of concentration
and discipline to get connected to my higher
consciousness, but it’s worth it when I do tap into
it. The results, well that’s a longer interview to be
shared in a more intimate time setting. I’ve got
stories. My favorite moments are when I’ll get
receive a vision for someone else and it blesses them
in a special way.
My spirit animal is the enchanted unicorn, flying,
jubilant and vibrant.
Are you up in Canada?
Yes, I’m going to Canada on the 29th of this month. I’m going to
shoot a movie, tentatively called “13 Steps” but they’re still working
on the name of the movie. The producer and director is Ivan
Godoy and there’s another lead character that plays Cairo, which
is one of those gangster cartel people. He kills my family and his
name is Tero who is played by Raoul Trujillo. He’s been in Apocalypto
and Riddick. It’s exciting to work with new people.
Let’s start with the beginning, you were born where?
I was born in Queens, New York.
But you grew up…
We moved to Los Angeles when I was like 15.
I moved to Miami at 21.
What drew you to Miami?
Yes. I was working with a Latin Grammy winning producer there
but that was just not working out so well and I had an opportunity
to come to New York and I did.
Since I was seven years old, I saw six or seven, I can’t remember
— I saw The Bodyguard in Spanish in the Dominican Republic. I
was also raised in the DR from 6 to 15 years old, and I went to an
American school there, where I saw The Bodyguard and I was so in love
with Whitney Houston, I told my mom I wanted to be a singer and an
actress. When my mom heard me sing, she put me in classes and said
“We’re moving to Hollywood, baby.”
Your mother was very supportive?
Yeah, and I have to say I was raised by five wonderful women. My
mother was 15 when she had me, so she had her sisters raise me with
her, as well as a very good friend of the family, Diana Martin, who
lives in New York. They’re Italian-American, and they sent me every
a part of the family. They’re like my aunt and uncle, but they’re not
My style is derived from influences
I was in the first season, and I’m still moving forward.
Do people recognize you? Has it changed your life dramatically?
Yes, it has. I didn’t think it would, but I take the train in New
York, and people are like, “Can I take a picture of you?” It’s crazy.
the
A man’s guide to looking younger
BY JOHN RENUCCI, MD, FACS
More men are focused on looking better
Ok men, let’s be honest with ourselves: We really do care about getting old and we
care about how we look. According to the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic
Surgery, over 950,000 procedures were performed on men in 2012, an increase of
18% from 2011. The data also shows that non-surgical procedures enjoyed the most
significant gain of 21.5%. These include botox, hair removal and hyaluronic acid fillers
(570,000 procedures) I can attest to the success of these procedures as I perform
them every day in my office. These are proven treatments that counter the effects of
aging and damage that has already taken a toll on our skin. Now that we can admit
that we care about how our skin looks, logically we should shift our focus toward prevention.
Don’t worry, prevention should not by synonymous with inconvenience, hassle,
or expense. Think of the terms “simple” and “efficient”.
Skin care for men can and should be simple
Let’s focus on hydration and protection. A simple, underutilized form of prevention is
the daily use of a well-selected facial moisturizer. Even though men have thicker skin
than women and the testosterone in our systems stimulates more oil production from
our sebaceous glands, daily cleansing and shaving can strip our skin of both moisture
and natural oils that help to protect it. Water in the skin is an important structural
component for maintaining plump, smooth skin. Regular use of a facial moisturizer can
fortify our natural skin barrier and replenish the natural hydration elements in the outer
layers of our skin thereby reducing the occurrence of dry, scaly, susceptible skin.
The first thing anyone sees is the face. It is the first impression.
Let’s make
it a good one by getting into some habits that will prolong that
youthful look and preserve your skin. BY DRJOHN RENUCCI
thelosangelesfashion.com SPRING 2014 LA FASHION 107

Moisturizers are not just for women
Most moisturizers have a combination of humectants
and emollients to optimize hydration. Keeping
it simple, humectants draw water into the outer
layers of the skin from both the deeper layers as
well as from the environment, and emollients act
to seal moisture in by forming a protective barrier.
Emollients also help to make the skin feel soft and
smooth. Because men have oilier skin than women,
manufacturers of
skin care for men
have formulated
products that combine
humectants and
emollients that are
light, oil-free, and
non-comedogenic
(will not clog pores).
So, you don’t have to
feel like you’re wearing
a shiny, heavy,
acne-producing
product.
Looking to
reduce wrinkles
and aging
skin? Use protection
Well-hydrated skin
will look and feel
better, but it won’t
likely lead to long-term wrinkle reduction. How can
we achieve more significant long term effects? By
using a broad-spectrum SPF in our moisturizer. It
is estimated that 90% of the skins’ visible aging is
caused by sun exposure. A recent study by Green
in 2013 revealed that daily use of sunscreen with an
SPF 15 reduced skin aging by 24% when compared
to subjects who only used sunscreen intermittently.
Even if you aren’t concerned about wrinkles, you
should care about skin cancer as men have a significantly
higher incidence of sun related skin cancer
when compared to women. Of course, as the study
reveals, daily use of an SPF 15 sunscreen helps, but
using a broad-spectrum SPF 30 during more extensive
exposure is recommended.
Find a
moisturizer
that you like
and use it
daily…you
won’t regret
it
The process is quite
simple if you consider
how impactful applying
daily moisturizer
to your skin can
be. Hydration and
protection should
start at an early age
because the damaging
effects from the
sun (uv radiation)
and environment
(wind, pollution)
tend to be cumulative.
To keep your
routine simple, look
for a moisturizer that
is light in feel, non-comedogenic, hypoallergenic, and
has a broad-spectrum UVA/UVB coverage. If you
have trouble finding one you like, seek advice from a
knowledgeable skin care specialist. Don’t wait until
you notice wrinkles. Hydrate and protect your skin
now as you will thank yourself years down the road.
You won’t be lacking energy nor charisma in February! The Sun, which is present in
your sign places you on the front of the stage and urges you to express your creativity,
your desires and the force to achieve them. Let go of the past that haunts you, a
history that required you to silence your feelings. There’s an emotional
climate in the air that is more inviting to you and your query. It’s
AQUARIUS
time to assess opportunities that are in front of you and exercise your
power of seduction freely! Fortunately for you, it is a perfect time to enjoy the support
of your peers. You can rely on spirited kindred spirits, and be enterprising. Push
Get ready to create change this month. Concoct the
situations that will allow you to change your fate at your
own will. It’s not in your nature to follow trends anyways.
You will have more decision-making in your life at work
and at home because you will instinctively
remember some facts of the past that didn’t
ARIES
work for you. Act courageously through
those situations to advance your projects. Your
emotional life calls for attention though, so let go of that
tom-boy look and imagine how Venus would dress in
this day and age. I suggest wearing color for a change.
Red for love.
This month will push you towards the outskirts of
your expectations and projects, in all areas. Your constructive
attitude will attract you to the best possible conditions
for your progress. You will focus on the current
culture and what flows harmoniously with your loved
ones. Your efficiency increases primarily because you
move with serenity. You are getting closer to
points of views, techniques and strategies that
TAURUS
you had neglected so far. Finally you will unlock
funds, to support your projects. Do not go splurging
those funds to redecorate. Your projects will have far
more impact on your life than a new couch.
You will feel happy to put an end to obsolete situations
at the beginning of this month. A wind of adventure
is blowing inside of you and that will lead to new
knowledge. Overall, it’s a month that moves! An influx
of energy helps you to move quickly and advance your
day-to-day affairs. This tempo will help you to
GEMINI
love with more lightness, not to be confused
with frivolity in your expressions. Your sentimental
life will be the focus this month, regardless of
your present situation, to redress some of the trends that
you’ve held on to.
The stars this month lead you to new trails, in all
areas. You will be less in need of security and traditions,
because you feel a greater need for discovery and change,
that will enhance your relationships to a more fluid and
profound understanding. You will face adversity with
efficiency. The stars allow you to solve family or relationship
troubles. It is on the whole a month of
CANCER
fruitful actions that come to term. Your love
life is in the spotlight. You won’t miss opportunities
to oxygenate your love bubble. If single, your
charm is positively attracting possibilities available to you!
Global climate pushes you to see big this month as
you evaluate your ambitions. You have great ideas and
your projects take off. The stars help you refocus more
efficiently to the construction of your ideals, with a lot
of pragmatism. It is an ideal time to renew your life in all
areas. However, an effort should be made towards your
family life to calm tensions. Your love life looks exciting
this month, but there will be a few emotional moments
that you’ll need to manage with gloves to avoid
conflicts. If you’re solo, you will be exposed to
LEO
events that can generate lightning! If in a relationship
your partner will be more assertive, less flexible than
ordinary, this month.
Global inflows push you into battle this month.
You are walking the walk and this can be positive if you
channel this energy in the right place. The influx of love
will soothe things in relational terms, and will considerably
help you put oil on the wheels that are in the
workings. You will feel freer in your initiatives and goals.
You will have resources to make plans for the future and
in accordance with your strategies. It’s time to see your
banker to solicit the funds you need. This month will
be constructive for your projects. The love
of your life is reinforced this month. You will
VIRGO be more inclined to develop intimacy and be
open, emotionally speaking, and even show
your faults and weaknesses. What will prove as picture
of perfection transpires from the good health of your
loved ones. It is up to you to seek the real source of your
fears and check its proportions in relation to the current
situation, to healthily reassess your position for the rest of
the year. Maybe it’s time to take off your sunglasses, put
mascara on and stare into your lover’s eyes.
This month will be dominated by transits of the stars,
which will have a certain impact in all areas of your life.
How you communicate, especially in your social life,
will have huge influences on your life and enhance your
external image.
Your practical efforts will give results. Venus finally
allows you to improve certain links, including at the
family level, as well as for everything in the vicinity. You
will have a positive approach to win your arguments!
You are standing center stage and your role will mobilize
considerable energy. In your personal business, you move
efficiently. You will energize your love life this month,
and you’ll find it is a priority to be less hesitant
than the ordinary. The best statement for you
LIBRA
will be to release some weight! If you are in a
situation in which you are too dependent on a partner,
and their dreams, then dream bigger to achieve that
dream. Your personal creativity will emerge spontaneously,
and this will help you to find a better balance of life.
Home is where the heart is and your heart is in the right
place. Fashionably correct!
This month will be highly active. In fact, you’ll have
ants in your heels and you will tend to feel guilty if you
allow yourself to rest. An influx of energy will set the
tone to a fast-paced lifestyle, which leaves very little
time for reflection. Take the opportunity to act on the
projects you started to see them come to fruition. The
stars allow you to set up the beginnings of a long-term
project in the right direction. You’ll have plenty to do to
reconcile external requests with the overabundance of
what you do in your personal life. Your family circle will
have difficulty understanding why you work so hard and
neglect your health. An unexpected displacement may
call into question your predetermined plans. Keep up
the hope and you will be reborn. If you are
SCORPIO
single, you will attract a lover with whom
you have affinity with. Your dark side will
see the light! If you are in a relationship, your bond
will grow, but be careful not to sit too deeply on your
laurels with love. Emotionally, you’ll have a better level
of understanding this month. There will be an influx
of energy that will make you formidable in the art of
the limits and you will inspire some initiatives which will bring you a rush, a bath of
thrills, and restore your the sense of adventure. Trust your instincts and your support
system to help you revitalize those dreams, which may have recently fallen flat. You
are poised to shine this month, so go out and make the best of it. I suggest leaving the
house, shutting the laptop down and getting some fresh air at a bistro or outside mall.
Meet up with friends, old and new, and do some window shopping. Perhaps a new
trinket is just what you need to put some pep back in your step.
seduction. Enjoy it and pick a partner who matches your
actual expectations!
The planetary influences will push you out of a certain
comfort zone in relational terms. This influx of energy
will push you into claims that you’ll carry out subtlety.
It’s up to you to undertake these very profound changes
in your lifestyle. The transit of beauty in your sign is loosening
up your inflow of mental optimism that pushes
you forward, to create situations that radically change
your everyday life. Your efforts on your external image
are the fruits in all areas. There will be situations to build
new relationships on the career level. This month will be
a time of expansion. Couples will have facilities through
dialogue to strengthen their cohesion by finding new
compromises. If you’re solo, it’s time
SAGITTARIUS
to get out of your shell and go to new
places, meet new people of your fancy!
Your love life is at the center. External circumstances
encourage you to not rush anything, to observe more
and better understand your relationships, your suitors,
and your partner. From this point of view, there is a delay,
so it is the time to catch up, in order to adjust your expressions,
without denying that you’re basically loveable.
You have style, so flaunt it with fun and flare.
Astrological impulses booster up your philosophy of
life this month. Indeed, the influx of energy will give
you a positive point of view and creativity for everything
that represents new beginnings, radical changes.
You are in charge of your own destiny and direct the
course on the correct path. You will be exposed to
situations that arouse your emotions
and in turn, your deepest values. You’ll
CAPRICORN
paradoxically be highly efficient in
acting in your social life, to get your messages across.
This month will be very positive and constructive! The
transit of stars in your Constellation will bring you a
current of financial luck. You are fully in agreement
between reason and attachments. New meetings of the
minds this month may lead you far, positively. Projects
won’t be difficult, as long as you are not forcing anything
or anyone! Your love life this month will not rest,
far from it.
Your sign will open doors at a relational level, and
you will have more facility to link up new knowledge to
your values. You will encounter brakes on some of your
projects, but you will succeed if you use pragmatism and
common sense. Do not discourage too quickly. Your
love life will evolve slowly this month, and
PISCES
you will naturally tend to leave more time
for yourself. Your individual development will
be promoted, which will have a positive impact in your
near future. The incoming vibe of love will evolve your
sentimental life and create more exchanges with others.
Expect more movements and changes of the heart that
will either bring you closer to the elect of your heart, or
get you out of isolation. If you’re solo, your friendliness
will promote new meetings of the minds.
