Base & Variable Pay<br />

In additional to our employees base pay (basic salary) which is determined via<br />

our employees individual performance, <strong>Daikin</strong> <strong>of</strong>fer its employees several<br />

variable pay schemes.<br />

The variable schemes within <strong>Daikin</strong> are:<br />

Support Staff – our supporting staff will be included in our bi-annual performance<br />

evalu<strong>at</strong>ions, <strong>at</strong>tached to this is <strong>the</strong> opportunity to earn up to a maximum <strong>of</strong> 18% <strong>of</strong> your<br />

base salary<br />

Sales Bonus – our sales employees will be included in a quarterly commission scheme<br />

where <strong>the</strong>y can achieve bonus based on <strong>the</strong>ir achievements again set targets<br />

Management Bonus Contracts – Our management team will be included a<br />

management bonus scheme where <strong>the</strong>y will be assessed on pre agreed targets. As <strong>the</strong><br />

leaders <strong>of</strong> <strong>Daikin</strong> <strong>the</strong> scheme is designed to assess <strong>the</strong> effective management <strong>of</strong> individuals<br />

and teams in order to achieve high levels <strong>of</strong> organis<strong>at</strong>ional performance.

At <strong>Daikin</strong> our annual salary review and increases to our employees<br />

salaries will be driven by <strong>the</strong> employee’s individual performance<br />

r<strong>at</strong>ing from <strong>the</strong> PDR<br />

Reflecting achievements against results <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> PDR –<br />

“performance”<br />

Acknowledging wh<strong>at</strong> has been achieved in terms <strong>of</strong> development<br />

PDP– “contribution”<br />

An average <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> r<strong>at</strong>ings from <strong>the</strong> employee’s last two evalu<strong>at</strong>ions<br />

in conjunction with <strong>the</strong> individuals personal compa r<strong>at</strong>io within<br />

<strong>the</strong>ir salary band will determine <strong>the</strong> increase to <strong>the</strong>ir salary.


Flexible Benefits<br />

Employees <strong>at</strong> <strong>Daikin</strong> can take advantage <strong>of</strong> our Flexible Benefits<br />

scheme which gives employees <strong>the</strong> choice to select from a range <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>benefits</strong> th<strong>at</strong> suit <strong>the</strong>ir personal needs.<br />

Every year during <strong>Daikin</strong>’s election window (March) employees will<br />

be asked to select <strong>the</strong> <strong>benefits</strong> <strong>the</strong>y want for <strong>the</strong> year ahead,<br />

employees can buy new <strong>benefits</strong> ei<strong>the</strong>r via salary sacrifice or as Net<br />

pay deductions.<br />

Total Reward St<strong>at</strong>ements<br />

At <strong>Daikin</strong> we want our employees to understand <strong>the</strong> true value <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Pay<br />

and Benefits <strong>the</strong>y receive.<br />

<strong>Daikin</strong> will issue all employees with an annual Total Reward St<strong>at</strong>ement<br />

which hold <strong>details</strong> <strong>of</strong> all Base and Variable pay, Benefits and o<strong>the</strong>r non<br />

cash associ<strong>at</strong>ed <strong>benefits</strong><br />

The Purpose <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> st<strong>at</strong>ements is to give employees an insight to wh<strong>at</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong>ir total remuner<strong>at</strong>ion package is worth and <strong>the</strong>ir value to <strong>Daikin</strong><br />

Employees can access <strong>the</strong>ir Total Reward St<strong>at</strong>ements via Orbit our on-line<br />

<strong>benefits</strong> pl<strong>at</strong>form.


Holidays<br />

<strong>Daikin</strong> standard holiday entitlement for each year is 25 days, in<br />

addition to this employees will also be entitled to <strong>the</strong> 8<br />

standard bank holidays each year.<br />

As part <strong>of</strong> our Flexible Benefits package our employees are<br />

able to buy and sell up to 5 days holiday each year, with a<br />

maximum <strong>of</strong> 10 banked days.<br />

<strong>Daikin</strong>’s holiday year runs from <strong>the</strong> 1 st April to <strong>the</strong> 31 st March,<br />

employees will be asked to select <strong>the</strong>ir holiday choices via<br />

Flexible Benefits in <strong>the</strong> March prior to <strong>the</strong> new holiday year.


Pension<br />

At <strong>Daikin</strong> we are aware <strong>of</strong> our responsibility to ensure our employees are<br />

saving for <strong>the</strong>ir future retirement, with this in mind we <strong>of</strong>fer a competitive<br />

scheme via our on-line <strong>benefits</strong> pl<strong>at</strong>form Orbit.<br />

<strong>Daikin</strong> will contribute a fixed percentage <strong>of</strong> our employees salary based on<br />

<strong>the</strong>ir length <strong>of</strong> service with <strong>Daikin</strong>.<br />

3 month to 5 years = 5%<br />

5 years to 10 years = 6%<br />

10 years to 15 years = 7%<br />

15 years + = 8%<br />

For employees to take advantage <strong>of</strong> our pension scheme <strong>the</strong>y must<br />

contribute a minimum <strong>of</strong> 1% <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir salary.<br />

Our pension scheme works on a salary sacrifice basis which allows<br />

employees to take advantage <strong>of</strong> additional NI savings.


Healthcare<br />

<strong>Daikin</strong> <strong>of</strong>fers its employees <strong>the</strong> opportunity to join our comprehensive<br />

priv<strong>at</strong>e medical scheme.<br />

On <strong>the</strong> successful completion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir prob<strong>at</strong>ionary period (and up to 1<br />

month after) or on our annual renewal d<strong>at</strong>a (July) employees can join our<br />

scheme.<br />

We also <strong>of</strong>fer our employees family to take advantage <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> scheme and<br />

our competitive corpor<strong>at</strong>e r<strong>at</strong>es, if employees wish to take advantage <strong>of</strong> this<br />

<strong>the</strong>y will be asked to reimburse <strong>Daikin</strong> for this cost<br />

The only exception to <strong>the</strong> joining terms is following <strong>the</strong> birth or adoption <strong>of</strong><br />

a child.<br />

Employee only cover is funded by daikin, it is however a benefit in kind and<br />

will be declared on your annual P11D.


Health Cash<br />

Back Scheme<br />

At <strong>Daikin</strong> along with our comprehensive priv<strong>at</strong>e medical scheme we also <strong>of</strong>fer<br />

our employees <strong>the</strong> opportunity to join our Health Cash Back scheme.<br />

The scheme covers some tre<strong>at</strong>ments not usually covered under a priv<strong>at</strong>e<br />

medical scheme with such things as Dental, Optical and an Employee Assistance<br />

Programme.<br />

Our aim is to <strong>of</strong>fer our employees all <strong>the</strong> help and support <strong>the</strong>y need to recover<br />

from sickness or injury.<br />

Employees can join <strong>the</strong> scheme ei<strong>the</strong>r on completion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir prob<strong>at</strong>ionary<br />

period or <strong>at</strong> our annual renewal d<strong>at</strong>e (July).


Life Assurance<br />

Subject to acceptance by <strong>the</strong> provider, all employees on completion<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir prob<strong>at</strong>ionary period, (or if l<strong>at</strong>er, on <strong>the</strong>ir 18th birthday) will<br />

be provided with <strong>the</strong> benefit <strong>of</strong> Group Life Assurance.<br />

This currently provides a lump sum payment <strong>of</strong> up to 4 times <strong>the</strong><br />

basic salary upon de<strong>at</strong>h, subject to guidelines and procedures in <strong>the</strong><br />

scheme. Details <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> scheme are <strong>available</strong> for inspection from HR.<br />

Employees will be required to complete an Expression <strong>of</strong> Wishes<br />

form as part <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> scheme; this can be found on Cascade <strong>the</strong> HR<br />

d<strong>at</strong>abase.


Child-care Vouchers<br />

As part <strong>of</strong> out commitment to support our working parents <strong>Daikin</strong> <strong>of</strong>fers<br />

its employees <strong>the</strong> chance to join with <strong>the</strong> child-care vouchers scheme we<br />

run in conjunction with Computershare Vouchers.<br />

Child-care vouchers are a tax initi<strong>at</strong>ive, designed to help working parents<br />

save money on <strong>the</strong>ir registered childcare costs.<br />

Employees can enjoy <strong>the</strong> Tax and NI saving <strong>of</strong> up to £933 per annum with<br />

<strong>the</strong> vouchers.


Dental Insurance<br />

The scheme works on a reimbursement basis, providing you with a contribution (subject<br />

to <strong>the</strong> policy document and scheme rules) towards <strong>the</strong> cost <strong>of</strong> NHS or priv<strong>at</strong>e dental<br />

tre<strong>at</strong>ment.<br />

There are three different plans to choose from, each with different levels <strong>of</strong><br />

reimbursement <strong>available</strong>.<br />

You can extend cover to your partner and/or children.<br />

No prior oral health check required.<br />

No applic<strong>at</strong>ion form to complete in order to join.<br />

Simple claims process.<br />

You can continue using your own dentist.<br />

Children must be under <strong>the</strong> age <strong>of</strong> 18, or 19 if in full time educ<strong>at</strong>ion.<br />

Personal Accident Insurance provides a cash benefit if you are involved in an accident<br />

which, solely and independently <strong>of</strong> any o<strong>the</strong>r cause results in lose <strong>of</strong> limb, eye sight,<br />

speech, hearing, permanent disabilities or de<strong>at</strong>h.<br />

under <strong>the</strong> age <strong>of</strong> 18, or 25 if in full time educ<strong>at</strong>ion).<br />
