In this third edition of eyevision in 2011 you can expect something
exciting! The InfoComm in Orlando gave us the adequate frame, to
introduce one of the most ambitious and most important new development
of eyevis’ engineers, next to the many smaller and bigger
innovations of the eyevis array of products.
eyevis omniSHAPES are the small, almost infinitely variable project
modules, that are amazingly applicable in manifold ways.
Under the slogan „it‘s time for a new shape“ we inform you of the
fantastic opportunities, that are offered by this brand new form of
visual presentation.
Like in the last issues we want to give you an understanding of
our home country. What stands more to reason than to reach
back to one of the most important topics of the global economy
development of the last century that had its beginning in Baden-
Württemberg. The automobile is this year 125 years old. This is the
occasion for us to begin with a new series of products, the will continuously
deal with the great minds and outstanding inventions of
the “Ländle”.
Additionally we will report from our participation in trade shows and
conventions, where we presented the eyevis technology to a always
very interested professional audience. People coin the business.
Not only for this reason we let the people have a say, who participate

A project in the
career of
stefan Hohenadel
“To stand in front of that giant wall was an amazing feeling”
n ”one of the most impressing and
most interesting installations since
i started working for the company
eyevis…” this way stefan Hohenadel
describes the video wall that was
installed at CisE M (Centro integrado
de seguridad y Emergencias de
Madrid), the emergency control center
in Madrid in 2005.
During this municipal project the primary
control unit of Madrid’s fire department, the
police and the emergency rescue service
were put together under one roof in order to
use common resources in a better way and
to provide a Europe-wide coordination of
emergency call 112 operations.
“With three eyevis technicians and a few
colleagues from our Spanish partners we
installed the at this time biggest cube wall in
the history of eyevis with 44 projection cubes
with 67’’ screen diagonal, a double lamp
system and double inputs there in about 3
weeks. The large scale display wall has a total
size of 15 meters breadth and a height of 4
meters. The cubes were installed with
2 database servers and 2 graphics controllers
with 44 inputs each. Next to the installation of
the 44 cubes 1 km optical wire as a connection
between the exits of the graphic board
and the cubes and 250m control connections
were placed.
This cube wall displays amongst others video
signals that are used for the administration,
coordination and control of all operation
forces and machines of Madrid’s fire department.
Further, operations can be documented
in real time. On an additional area of the video
wall status reports of current operations and
locations of operation vehicles via GPS are
displayed. This illustration is put over a street
map or digital perspective of Madrid, which is
displayed with further information regarding
structurally engineered characteristics or other
conditions. Besides, the large scale display is
able to display video signals of traffic control
cameras.
One data processor, that is equipped with
the latest processor technology and able
to identify dysfunctions on its own and to
transfer control to other, functioning system
areas, is supervising the whole system. The
redundancy of the installation is not only
system internal, but exists as a real copy on
the eyevis video wall and works on a further
backup video wall.
To stand in front of such a giant wall after the
installation that was built by your own hands
in hard work is an amazing feeling. And after
the satisfied customer received the cube wall,
we could happily start our journey back to
Reutlingen.”

Award and admitted to the eyevisionary club
for the most realized installations in 2010.

Carl Benz – the genius,
that moved the world ...
n the 19th century dates so far back,
that most of us couldn’t have known
a single contemporary witness. still
many developments that started at that
time, today are unthinkable for us to do
without them.
The automobile is without a doubt one
of the most important inventions that coins
the world as we know it, like very few
others.
But 1899 the readers of a Berlin newspaper
voted for the conventional train as the
most important accomplishment. Next to
the postcard and the galoshes, the sewing
machine and the petroleum lamp were
rated high. Only the automobile was not
named. In 1900, 14 years after Carl Benz
filed a patent for his “car with gas drive”,
only about 800 cars were built in Germany
in elaborate handcraft.
Wide landscapes hadn’t seen a car that
moves on his own, without a horse, not
least because there was no net of roads,
gas stations and garages.
Progressive and consequent –
the Benz patent-motor-car
From the beginning of his development
Carl Benz, born on November 25th 1844 in
Karlsruhe, broke – other than the inventor
competitors – with the idea of a carriage
shaped car and concentrated on the
integrated concept of a steel pipe frame,
lying cylinder and flywheel.
1878/79 he had developed a compactionless
two-stroke CI engine, later a light fourstroke
engine. Other elements of motorized
vehicles like the differential drive, the
Ackermann steering, the spark plugs, the
shift of belts as clutch, the carburetor, the
cooler with water and the gear shift were
developed by the genius inventor. 1885 he
built the first gasoline car, a three wheeled
vehicle with Cl-engine und electric ignition
that was driven in the summer of 1885 in
Mannheim according to Bertha Benz.
It had 0,8 hp, high-speed were unhurried
18 km/h.

In business Carl Benz had many ups and
downs. He left his first company, founded
1871 and later turned into a corporation,
because of the pressure of the house bank,
because of missing comprehension of
his visions.
1883 he founded the Benz & Cie. Rheinische
Gasmotorenfabrik Mannheim that became
the biggest factory of automobiles in the
world around 1900.

But in 1903 Benz already angrily resigned
from this company. In 1926 it finally came
to the merging of Benz & Cie. Rheinische
Gasmotorenfabrik Mannheim and the
Daimler-Benz-Motorengesellschaft, founded
by Gottlieb Daimler, to the Daimler-Benz AG.
the strong woman behind the
successful inventor
Bertha Benz, who always believed in the
success of her husbands’ development, did
the first long-distance drive from Mannheim
to Pforzheim with a distance of about 104
kilometers, where she arrived after 12 hours,
with her sons Eugen and Richard in 1888. The
drive that was done without the knowledge
of Carl Benz, became a real adventure.
Although the road was comparatively even,
Bertha Benz had to stop several times und
her sons had to push the car, because the
small engine was to weak for the hills. Also
the search for cooling water and fuel became
a challenge. The city-pharmacy of Wiesloch
which they passed on the road, became
the first gas station of the world, when the
pharmacist there supplied the travel group
with Ligroin, an at that time common spot
remover as fuel.
The Bertha Benz Memorial Route reminds of
that drive.
Carl Benz later wrote in his life memories:
“Only one person held out in the ship of
life besides me in these days when I went
towards the ruin. It was my wife. Courageous
and bold she hoisted new sails of hope.”

flair that might have encircled Carl Benz,
when he built the motorized vehicle in
Mannheim and filed a patent on January
29th 1886. At that time his drives already
often lead him to Landenburg and later the
company C.Benz Söhne emerged here,
todays automobile museum.

omniSHAPES are small projection units,
whose screen modules can be almost arbitrarily
arranged.
eyevis created a completely new type of
device with the development of this display,
that because of his product characteristics
draws a high amount of attention. They are
applicable individually or as units in bigger
projection walls, because every module has
its own internal signal processor for the
perfect geometrical modulation of the
input signal on the part of the overall picture
that has to be displayed.
The projections are in an impressive quality
thanks to the eyevis LED Technology. Pin

With the new EYE-LCD-CAS Colour Adjustment System eyevis provides
the ideal tool for the alignment of LCD video walls comprising
displays from our EYE-LCD-M/W, -SN and -USN series.
The system includes hardware and software components for the
measuring and alignment procedure of LCD video walls. The colour
adjustment works fully automatically which makes the procedure
very simple and time-efficient.
The only necessary interaction is to switch the external sensor from
one display to the next in which no fixed order needs to be adhered
to. Since the system automatically recognizes the displays, no
software settings have to be performed during the measurement of
a complete video wall.

initially there was the space ...
...or: how a large-scale video wall
is built step by step
n it is an impressive view
when you stand in front of
a completely installed eyevis
large-scale video wall.
But how is such a videowall
built from the beginning?
we would like to answer
exactly this question with
the help of the installation at
Queensland Motorways-traffic
Management Center (QLMtMC)
in Brisbane, Australia and with
the following pictures.
Everything started with an empty
space separated by wood, where later
an eyevis large-scale video wall will do
its duty.
In the first step our employees set up
the substructure of the videowall in the
space, in a way that it is perfectly angled, here
in a concave shape, and doesn’t have to be
adjusted in a later work step.
Then wall holders with front access are
attached to the substructure and the wires
are placed from the server location to the
screen feet. Step by step the work proceeds,
following an exactly determined plan. Every
worker knows exactly when he has to do
what.
So it doesn’t take long and the wall holders,
here with front access, are attached to the
substructure and adjusted. This requires
extremely accurate working, because every
little mistake can later hardly be evened out
and can have fatal consequences. That is why
the wall holders are in this step adjusted to
the millimeter.
Then there is the moment when the first
displays find their spot at the wall. Now the
exact adjustment of the wall holders pays
out – everything fits perfectly. The wall slowly
takes its shape and the screens are tentatively
put into operation. The test picture with the
eyevis logo can be seen, the screens work as
expected. In the fine tuning every screen in
interaction are controlled and readjusted.

Exactly like the attached wires of the screens
with the Netpix-Splitcontroller. Do the sources
have a connection? Is everything visualized in
the right way? Perfect! The result convinces
and the tentative run under real conditions
can be started.
The work has payed out, the videowall works
flawless and we can hand over a reliable
product to everyday use to another satisfied
customer.

Confident appearance
at the IFSEC 2011
n Like in the years before eyevis this year
again was represented at the security-event
in Birmingham, UK.
The International Fire & Security Exhibition and Conference (IFSEC)
is considered as the worlds’ largest showcase around the topic
safety-supplies and –technology. It took place March 16 th to
19 th 2011 in Englands second biggest city Birmingham. Over 700
international exhibitors presented products, solutions and ideas for
the world of safety to an interested expert audience.
In 2011 the Ifsec attained a growth in visitor of 11% in comparison
to 2010, 32% international visitors were on their way at the
showcase. An interesting fact was that 31% of the visitors were
end customers and 69% were resellers. 24% had to manage a
budget of over one million pound for the field of security. With
entrance control, CCTV (Closed Circuit Television), burglar alarm
systems, network security and integrated safety solutions the
most important operation areas of products from the field of
security were featured on the agenda. Becoming more and more
important, the area of public security was new this year. Including
topics like perimeter security, scanners, guard controlling systems
and biometry.
Not least because of that the security- and controlsystems drew
the interest of the visitors. The experts of eyevis were accountable
for many questions about technology and control systems,
especially for the examples and solutions that were specific to this
field. eyevis had good company at the Ifsec due to the appearance
of Advancis, Seetec and Recaro. All in all the showcase was wellattended
and some interesting contacts were established.
Alongside eyevis more than 75% of the exhibitors will also be
represented in 2012. A fact that stands for the high relevance of the
IFSEC in the field of security.
n ”it‘s been brilliant“. ”it‘s been buzzy“. ”the best itEC for
years and years“. we can fully confirm those statements made
by the international visitors of this year’s itEC in Cologne.
eyevis presented a highlight for the showcase visitors at the 22 nd
ITEC. The driving simulator, specifically designed for this showcase
and having a very compact construction and a nevertheless broad
field of view of almost 180°, drew all the audience attention to the
eyevis booth.
Two eyevis LED projectors with ultra-broad angeled optics were
responsible for the perfect visualization. The WUXGA definition of
1920x1200 pixels of each projector guaranteed a pin sharp, impressing
picture, despite the large projection area, that almost made
the fact forgotten that it was only a simulation. Alongside this
simulator eyevis showed the eStreamer for the transmition of video
signals over networks and the openWARP2 for the correction of
geometry, color and shading which was presented on two almost
seamless screens of the type EYE-LCD-5500-M-USN-LD.

Center in orlando to bring themselves up to date at the
largest showcase of the east coast of the UsA in the fields of
Conferencing, digital signage and networked Audio.
The annual conference and exhibition for professional, international
AV buyers and sellers denoted 33.000 expert visitors from 90
countries. So the showcase carrier – InfoComm International – was
able to announce that the InfoComm 2011, that took place from
15th to 17th June of this year, was the world’s second biggest
commercial AV-show of all times.
eyevis presented at the InfoComm together with their American
distribution partner VDC. Alongside different other display solutions,
image processing devices and video streaming via IP solutions
for professional large-scale display systems, eyevis presented
for the first time their revolutionary innovative omniSHAPES,
which were the Highlight of the show, according to the consistent
opinions of the AV-experts.
“The omniSHAPES of eyevis are probably the most meaningful
displays presented at this showcase”, stated InAVate magazine.
”eyevis as a new competitor in the market of modular small
displays took their chance to set themselves apart from other bids
with many surprising features. Especially with the opportunity to

informatics inside conference at
the Hochschule Reutlingen on 11 th
May 2011.
The idea for the conference was born in the
study course media and communication
oriented computer science. Students of the
Master degree organized a conference on
which they put topics from their education
out for discussion. The scientific discourse
with current topics of computer science offers
the opportunity for students and experts
to deal with content and experience new
things. With this forum the students want to
test their experiences at the college in real
life. The conference applies to students as an
audience as well as computer scientists from
the economy, science and research, representatives
of industry and of course students and
professors of all universities and every other
interested visitor.

Network based signal distribution at the
latest state of
eyevis estreaming
eStreaming
technology
n with this article we start a two-part
series that elaborately deals with
eyevis’ solution for estreaming. the
first part covers the eyevis estREAMER
es100 for standard networks.
In the past the transmission of DVI signals
was implemented via hardware based
crossbars (Matrix Switch). Those are devices
with a defined number of signal in- and
outputs:

to transmit those
signal types over large distances,
gains more importance in modern
installations. Today those signals have to
be transmittable to every location without
any limitations.
The eyevis eStreaming solution provides
a flexible and scalable technology to
transmit DVI signals in real time with low
latency over networks. The system is
based on an encoder/decoder solution
which transmits the signal with a special
eyevis eJPEG-compression over networks.
The signals can be fed and extracted in
high quality from every position in the
network. This functionality forms a virtual
network matrix for it’s infrastructure – like
demonstrated in the large chart. Two
different network topologies can be used:
the standard Ethernet (grey star)
and the eyevis real time network
(blue circle).
Depending on the network topology
different devices are available:
the eStreamer eS100 can only be used for
standard networks with standard Ethernet
switches. With the eStreamer eS460
synchronal networks can additionally be
built by using so called Real Time Routers
(eR400). Both eStreamers (eS100 and
eS460) can be configured as an encoder as
well as decoder.
An existing configuration can in this way
be rebuilt or expanded flexibly. For rental
purposes or in projects with quickly changing
configurations this is a very use- and
helpful attribute.
network topology ”Ethernet“
Because the eStreaming solution is based
on the ethernet (IP/UDP), common Layer2
switches can be used. 1:1 (Unicast) as well
as 1:n (Multicast connections are possible.
The advantage in the use of Multicast is
that the existing network capacity can be
used in a more effective way. If a video
signal for example needs to be displayed
on several screens at once, not every
screen needs it’s own data stream: one
multicast stream of an encoder is enough
to supply several decoders at once. The
network is only loaded with one data
stream per encoder.
For this reason modern switches use the
IGMP protocol ( Internet Group Management
Protocol). An encoder logs in a video
data stream in a so called multicast group
on a connected switch. One or more decoders
can communicate to the network,
that they want to receive a certain data
stream and in this way join the multicast
group. Not until this registration the switch
duplicates the data packages and transmits
them to the relating decoder.
Only switchports that are connected to a
member of a multicast group receive the
relating data packages. This data stream
is inaccessible for every other switchport.
This functionality makes sure the whole
network is not flooded unnecessarily with
all video streams.
network topology ”RtB”
The so called eyevis RealtimeBus is a
network gateway that enables every
connected device to transmit data
synchronously. The RTB is mainly suitable
for smaller networks for synchronous
data processing. It offers opposite to the
standard-ethernet a advanced quality of
service. This technology is only available
on the eS460 eStreamer and can be
combined with the standard-ethernet.

Areas of application and advantages
The areas of application of the eyevis eStreaming
solution are very diverse: Anywhere,
where DVI signals need to be distributed
to different screens, this technology can
be applied. For example to replace existing
DVI-crossbars or to distribute video signals
to several conference rooms or halls up
to several locations within a building. The
eyevis eStreaming solution is suitable for
companies as well as public institutions
or secured areas. The advantages are the
easy configuration, the possibility to use
existing network infrastructure and the
scalability of already existing eStreaming
projects.

Dispytching Security of the European Parliament
n the dispatching security of the
European Parliament has the following
aim and functionalities, concerning
safety and security the Process Control
composed of 18 cubes, installed in the
oPs Room of the European Parliament
in Brussels, allows the display of the
flows of 108 of the 2000 monitoring
cameras of the European Parliament
in its buildings of Brussels, strasbourg
and Luxemburg.
Several desks containing the desktops
need to command, control and manage
the site.
The videowall composed of 18 cubes of
70’’ is configured in two ranges of 9 cubes,
mounted, after ergonomic study, on a
metallic and adjustable incurved structure.
The wall, positioned at 1m20 height, is
12,60m long and 2,10m high.
The ergonomic design is set especially
to ensure the best viewing angles of the
operators, this includes the positioning of
the operators. For example, the operator
sitting on the left side of the videowall
controls the six cubes from the left and
has no access to the others. The operator
sitting at the centre controls the six cubes
from the middle and so on.
The Chief Operator, sitting on the upper
step at the back of the room is the only
one full access to all part of the videowall.
The control units electronic architecture is
based on a controller eyevis NPX-3824XE-
HD-IP112-G2.0. This controller, rackable 19’’
of 9U, is equipped with two processors
XEON Quad Core CPU 2,33GHz. Its RAM
memory capacity is 2 Gbyte. The capacity
of the hard disk is 2xswappable 74 Gbyte
RAID1 at 10.000 Rpm SATA.
Each Card Cage has 16 slots, the inputs
support 112 video streaming of any
standards: MPEG2, MPEG4,H.264, MJPEG
etc. Two Ethernet inputs 10/1000/1000M
bits complete the system. Each slot card
has 8 inputs at D1 format. Each decoding
IP board has 8 D1 inputs and 32 CIF inputs.
The 5 output graphic cards include each 4
outputs configurable in DVI or RGB. Their
maximum resolution is 1920x1200.
18 outputs are dedicated to the cubes and
2 to the video projectors.
The operating system is Windows XP 64
bit.
In order to ensure the reliability of the
system, each unit and its cards are doubled
to make the system fully redundant.
The flows of the cameras and the control
data are addressed simultaneously to both
unit blocks which are then independently
connected to the inputs of the cubes.
In case of breakdown, an automatic detection
transfers the «master» to the «slave»,
ensuring the continuity of the vision and
the operability of the controls.
The management software of the video
wall in its version 4 includes mySQL and
the licenses. It can be operated by 5 users
simultaneously. The software includes
the necessary API, including RS232, TCP/
IP, ODBC. The software allows the distance
management of the mouse of the video
wall as well as of the keyboard from the
client station. It also ensures the management
of the alerts.
In option, it ensures the tuning of the luminosity
and color management (luminance,
chrominance and geometry) in order to
guarantee the homogeneity of the images.
The video wall is composed of 18 cubes
eyevis of 70’’ type EC-70-SXT+-CP-DL, of
the DLP 1chip technology, the size of
the image is 1400x1050. The resolution is
SXGA+. The screen is a Cross Prism. The
gap of the frame is 0,3mm (seamless).

Each cube has 2 DVI inputs. The system is
connected to a main system (Master) and
a secondary redundant controller (Slave)
able to take over automatically in case of
breakdown of the main controller.
The propose cubes are equipped with
the PIP (Picture in Picture) function, a split
function up to 10x10 images per cube as
well as the inputs RGBHV, 2 inputs FBAS
and one input YC thanks to an input card
added to the cube’s controller, version 02.
The link between the controller and each
cube is made via a conversion system DVI
cable/optic fiber and optic fiber towards
DVI for a length of 50m, which allows
the data transmission with a definition of
1920x1200 pixels, i.e. WUXGA. The connections
are DVI-D at the two extremities.

reality or simulation?
eyevis extends it‘s disposition in immersive
visual Systems
n eyevis EsP projectors have been
chosen for various indra level d full
flight simulators and dLR’s new 360°
ACt simulator in Braunschweig.
Reality? Simulation? Modern simulators blur
this border. Virtual reality coupled with real
elements, such as a cockpit environment,
creates an almost perfect illusion of real
training scenarios.
In order to achieve a complete illusion of
the training situation, a simulator deceives
in particular four of our senses – the eye,
the tactile & kinesthetic sense as well as
the ear.
At this, the “visual”, i.e. the visualization
system, delivers the main effect of a simulation.
This includes the visual replication
as well as the displaying of the training
environment, i.e. the „visual“ consists of
two components – the projection and the
image generation.
The quality of the presentation, i.e. of the
visualisation, is one of the crucial factors
that distinguish the good from the better.
Hence professional simulations make high
demands on the projection system. Such
projection systems need to ensure pinsharp
images, extensive adjustability and
long lasting failure-free operation.
eyevis ESP projectors deliver what they

hosts 13 of these eyevis’ LED ESP projectors
each with WUXGA resolution. In conjunction
with 0.8:1 short-throw lenses and
a lens offset of almost 80%, they deliver
an outstanding 360° picture of a realistic
tower environment.
Indra is the leading simulation company

A team with passion and know-how
n eyevis sRL was founded in January
2010 specifically to supply, install and
maintain large screen systems all over
italy.
The headquarters are located in Rome, a
strategic location where nearly every major
Italian company is present. In terms of
reachability Rome is also a good position
from where every installation in Italy is easily
accessible, from the north in the Alps to the
south in Sicily.
Despite eyevis SRL is very young, it has already
a consolidated network of strategic collaborations
with many high-level technology
partners, and also a portfolio with some of
the main players, both private and public
companies, in the Italian control room market.
the office:
eyevis srl headquarters is located in Rome, Via
Pazzano 112, where there are about 700 square
meters of offices, showroom, warehouse and
laboratories. The offices have been recently
renewed to offer a large show room for
product presentations and service area in order
to offer the best support to eyevis‘ customer.

Serving the police in Fulda
n one of the oldest still working eyevis
installations is going of duty.
In the police department of Osthessen in
Fulda the current eyevis large-scale screen will
be switched with a new system.
For more than 8 years daily operations were
planned and supervised and the streets and
squares of the city were controlled by video
surveillance in the control center of the police
department of Osthessen.
The current system consists if four DLPTM
Cubes in 50’’ und one X11 Controller for the
depiction of X11 sources. For meetings of the
management level and for presentations there
is a special second room where two DLPTM
Cubes in 67’’ with two picture-in-picture controllers
can be used to visualize two sources
on each cube simultaneously.
Compared to the time of the installation the
technology changed dramatically, when LC
screens were small and expensive exotics
back then, today they are totally practicable
alternatives to projection cubes. Remarkable
improvements were achieved not only in size
but also in the area of durability.
The projection in it’s function compared to
that did not change essentially – except for
improved illuminants in projection cubes.
eyevis were pioneers of the introduction
of LED luminous sources, which brought
numerous advantages: essential progress
brought the higher duration of the luminant
and of course the higher definition of the
cubes.

It was and is still valid that projection technology
is State of the Art in 24/7 control rooms.

Nico Ladengast talks about his apprentice -
ship as an information electronics technician
at eyevis
n At eyevis 3 apprentices could
complete their apprenticeship as an
industrial manager and electronics
technician successfully. they now are
now signed in different mercantile and
technical departments, or decided to
study after their apprenticeship.
From the coming term on eyevis will be
training 10 adolescents: Three as an industrial
manager, one as an electronic technician
for devices and systems, two IT specialists
for system integration, two IT specialists for
application development and three as an
information electronics technician.
With this article we start a series in our
eyevision that gives an overview over the
apprenticeships at eyevis. This first part deals
with the apprenticeship of an information
electronics technician.
For years eyevis has been training apprentices
as information electronics technicians. An in
the Handicrafts Regulation Act accredited
profession, that has a specified duration of
training of 3,5 years and is offered in the core
areas of office system technology and device-
and system technology all over Germany.
Nico Ladengast, apprentice in the area of
information electronics in the following gives
information about this interesting apprenticeship
with future potential.
”The apprenticeship as information electronics
technician at eyevis is based on the core
area of „device- and system technology”. The
first year of the apprenticeship is a full-time
school year and at the end of this school year
there is an exam that’s results decide over
the continuation of the apprenticeship. After
this full-time school year you have school
two times a week. The last half year of the
apprenticeship is almost exclusively reserved
for the preparation of the exam.
What I can say about the apprenticeship at
eyevis at this point (Third year of the apprenticeship)
is that it is very much fun. It is very
diversified and you really learn a lot. I think it’s
great that I am challenged and also advanced
in the company and that I can already take
responsibility in order to plan and manage my
own projects in the end. You have to always
do good work to satisfy the customer. That’s a
challenge. But it makes you happy when there
was a successful acceptance.
Because you change the department every
half year in the company, it never gets boring
and you can always learn something new. At
the beginning of my apprenticeship I was in
the production department, switched to the
project department from there, went on to
the service and now I am back at the project
department at the end of my apprenticeship.
The two departments I liked the most were
service and project. I could really imagine to
work there after my apprenticeship, because
in those departments you plan and execute
your own projects or service operations.
Through always new developed products
you always learn more and you are able to
apply it in later life. One of the highlights in
my apprenticeship was the exchange with
an employee from France. There I was able to
plan and manage a project with a 3x2 cube
wall in the project department myself and set
it up at a exhibition in France. That really was a
great experience.
Alongside the responsibility that you have to
learn to take in order to satisfy the customer,
another point that I learned was that
teamwork is really important in this profession.
Most of the time you are at installations with
several people, so you have to rely on the
others because if everyone knows what he
has to do, everything goes smoothly.
But not only the insight in different departments
is important, cooperative colleagues
are also a point that make a good apprenticeship.
If I have any questions I can always
ask a colleague that is more experienced
who can give me the needed help. There are
many things you can’t know as an apprentice
or times-served assistant, but here at eyevis
actually everyone helps the other and the
colleagues really support you. This is also
apparent in the work atmosphere which I
very like at eyevis.
I hope I could give a little and hopefully
interesting insight in my apprenticeship as an
information electronics technician at eyevis.

A small contribution
of eyevis to
the education of
the offspring
n eyevis provided the Ferdinand von
steinbeis schule in Reutlingen with an
EyE -LCd-4700-nB incl. wall holder.
eyevis was able to support Sierk Heusel at
his final project in his apprenticeship as a
certified technician with the donation of an
LCD screen for his training school.
The project included the development and
combination of a complete system of screen
inc. security of vandalism and a belonging
computer and self developed softyware that
accesses the data of the school.
On this screen information about the
school is shown for example the current
performance of their own solar collector.
