Anemployee will be required to perform from time to time other duties as required to fulfil the objective ofthe position.RESPONSIBILITY/ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENTThe Signal Maintenance Fitter (Electrical):• is accountable to the Team Leader Signals and Power Maintenance;• collaborates with all members of the Engineering and Maintenance Business Unit; and• liaises with and forms collaborative relationships with internal customers, external serviceproviders such as contractors, Government Departments, and external Agencies.The Signal Maintenance Fitter (Electrical) is responsible for the safe movement of rail and tramservices by providing the maintenance and repair of the signalling systems and relatedequipment.KEY RESULT AREAS Safe Working Maintenance Standards and Efficiency Customer Service Risk and Quality Management


i)KEY RESULT AREAKRA1SAFE WORKINGContribute to the provision and maintenance of a safe workingenvironment within Signals Mechanical by:a) exercising <strong>responsibility</strong> required in accordance with the OHS&WAct and related regulations including;reporting accident, injuries or near misses;implementing safe work procedures and work instructions;contributing to regular scheduled safety audits andinspections;wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)as provided;identifying, and recommending remedial actions asappropriate;attending training programs as directed and apply learningsobtained;b) exercising <strong>responsibility</strong> required in accordance with the RailSafety Act with the maintenance of Signals & Power Assets;c) assisting in carrying out any relevant internal investigations asrequested to the cause or contributing facts to any incident orderailment;d) assisting with the management of Workers Compensation andRehabilitation of staff and implementation of early interventionstrategies;e) implementing strategies to minimise Lost Time Incidents andmedical treatments within Signals Maintenance;f) participating in relevant OH&S committee meetings as required;g) keeping workshops bays and storage <strong>areas</strong> clean and tidy andassociated plant, tools and equipment appropriatelymaintained;h) Raising Hazard Logs as appropriate and assist with anyinvestigation as required with appropriate solutionsrecommended.Key PerformanceIndicator/s (KPI)Number of LTI’s and medical treatments.Number of outstanding hazard logs.Number of outstanding NCR’s from safety audits.Annual Training program implemented and achieved withina timely manner.


KEY RESULT AREAKRA2MAINTENANCE STANDARDS AND EFFICIENCYContribute to the completion of Signals & Power Maintenance work inan efficient manner and in accordance with the Maintenance Planand Signals & Power Maintenance Standards by:a) performing maintenance and repair on signalling/level crossingequipment;b) performing maintenance and repair on the Tramlineoverhead/power distribution system or train 650V AC powerdistribution system;c) performing maintenance on train/tram station lighting includinggeneral inspections of station platform <strong>areas</strong> and reporting detailsof unsafe station infrastructure to the Team Leader Signals &Power Maintenance;d) performing maintenance on the mechanical signalling system tothe level of training provided including rodding, stretcher bars,generator sets and lubricate where required;e) performing all maintenance and repair that can be achieved onplant/equipment at work/site location without the necessity forthe plant/equipment to be dismantled for return to mainworkshops for repair;f) establishing work priorities and setting maintenance tasks withinthe broad guidelines established by management;g) maintaining and monitoring daily records of maintenanceperformed and provide detailed reports including technical reportson specific tasks or assignments as required;h) assisting in the installation and commissioning of new systemsthat involve testing, checking to specifications monitoringequipment operation and performance and assist in fault findingand problem diagnosis;i) responding to call outs and attend signal/power relatedmalfunctions;j) advising and assisting Operation Controllers with respect tosignal/power system failures and corrective action;k) preparing and submitting reports and returns as directed;l) ensuring quality control of spare and replacement parts;m) ensuring that the Signals & Power Services Management Systemstandards are adhered to and that any amendments to thestandards are documented.Key PerformanceIndicators (KPI)All operational Safety, Service Reliability and Availability processescomplied with.
