It all began with sporting activities in the country<br />
of Brazil, a place with many exotic fruits and diverse<br />
vegetation. The founder of Be Green, Udo Wessel,<br />
had to spend several years in Brazil for business<br />
reasons. This opened up new perspectives for him<br />
with regard to healthy and purely plant-based sports<br />
nutrition.<br />

Driven by the passion for performance in cycling,<br />
he got to know many Brazilian sports and training<br />
partners. The achievements as well as the nutrition<br />
of these Brazilian athletes inspired a new vision<br />
of an ideal, performance-enhancing, and a purely<br />
plant-based and vegan sports food.<br />
Many of the Brazilian athletes live at subsistence level<br />
and have little money for expensive supplements<br />
and sports food. Thus, they often resort to purely natural<br />
raw material.<br />
The extremely good performance of the Brazilian<br />
athletes as well as their meatless diet fueled<br />
the idea of developing a purely plant-based, firstclass<br />
sport food in Germany.<br />
The “Be Green” company<br />
was born…
The time for rethinking and implementing new ideas<br />
had come. The development and production of firstclass<br />
sports food for high-performance sports as well<br />
as fitness enthusiasts from purely plant-based raw<br />
materials was therefore only a logical consequence.<br />
Why does sports nutrition always consist of animal<br />
milk products or amino acid supplements from plucked<br />
duck feathers?<br />

It was time to break down the old structures and<br />
bring new ideas into the realm of sports.<br />
That is the vision of BE GREEN.<br />
Common allergies, gluten and food intolerances<br />
have prompted us to develop only lactose and gluten<br />
free products. Aspartame- and sugar-free products<br />
have always been a prerequisite for our vision of<br />
high-quality sports nutrition.<br />
We have faced this challenge and developed and<br />
produced new products for sports food in Germany.
Realization began in 2014 with first recipes of vegetable proteins<br />
from whole rice grains (bio-fermented, germinated whole grain<br />
rice).<br />
By using whole grain rice, BE GREEN also provides rice protein<br />
with important natural micronutrients. It is free of allergens, lactose,<br />
gluten, cholesterol, and genetic engineering and the carbohydrate<br />
content is only 1% for the “Nature” flavor.<br />
