The objective of GMP+ Art Alliance is to contribute to a broader
awareness of the importance of the feed industry and related
sectors for our society and its impact on the sustainable
development of our planet.
The aim is to federate stakeholders from the feed industry,
regardless individual differences such as languages or countries,
or different approaches concerning feed safety and
sustainability. Art is a “universal language” which makes it
possible to express our common concern for our business.
Art makes us taste conviviality. Like tasting food through the
passion of cooking, we want people taste the passion for our
industry through GMP+ Art Alliance.
Through the GMP+ Art Alliance, we aim to enhance the image of
our industry and its patrimony and we invite not only our
customers, but all stakeholders to partici‐pate in this initiative.

« I live and work as a Artist
photographer in Brittany (France) and
have been conducting personal research
for many years. It addresses issues of
perception of the landscape, what
makes the identity of a particular area,
or of a country, in terms of existing
economic 'landmarks'. A precise
geographic record is kept of all the
photographic series I have realized since
2002 , with a detailed reference for each
shot, such as the location of the
building, the factory's establishment
d a t e , a n d its f u n c t i o n a l a n d
architectural characteristics. My
research aims therefore to be both an
objective inventory and representation
of these structures and an exploration of
their multiple architectural facets ».

2002‐2007: "Modest architecture"
A successful experience
� This project revolves around several series of photos on the theme of "modest
architecture" with an initial realization of three series since 2002: Series No. 1 :
Paris‐style telephone booths, Series No. 2 : EDF high tower transformers, Series
No. 3: roadside gasoline stations. These buildings have the merit of symbolizing ‐
albeit partially ‐ two features of postwar modernity, namely the standardization
of construction and the speed of trade and traffic.
2009‐2011: "Landscape and Industrial Architecture in Brittany: Animal Feed
plants"
� This project of photographic inventory and study of animal feed plants in Brittany
is supported by AFAB (Association of Animal Feed Manufacturers of Brittany), the
Ministry of Culture (Division of Architecture and Visual Arts), the Regional Council
of Brittany (Cultural Department), the Côtes d'Armor General Council, and the
Geoarchitecture Institute of the University of Brest. The research aims to be a
reflection on the architectural characteristics of industrial buildings, with 48 sites
photographed and a photographic collection of 150 images.

Outline of the project:
The 2012‐2013 proposal
� In technical partnership with FEFAC (European Feed Manufacturers' Federation)
and the national associations of 20 European member countries.
� The project aims to create the most important photographic collection ever
made of architectural images of plants in the Animal Feed sector in Europe. This
unique collection of documentary and artistic photographs will consist of more
than 350 images at the end of a five‐year period.
� The photographic project is punctuated by 5 photographic trips per year in the
participating countries, each lasting 10 to 15 days. 4‐6 plants are photographed
during each trip, depending on light conditions, a total of 25 to 30 factories
photographed, amounting to over 70 images of animal feed plants each year.
� The first photographic trip will begin in October 2012 with 9 participants for
2012/2013: Poland, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Austria, and
France, The Netherlands.
� Each year, the photographs will be highlighted in various ways :
� at international exhibitions: the first will be held from 5 to 8 June 2013 in
Krakow, Poland during the XXVIth International Congress of FEFAC,
� by the annual publication of a photographic art book (about 40 pages)
� through a photographic travel journal released every two months in the
Revues de l’Alimentation Animale and AllAboutFeed from November 2012
onwards
� on a website dedicated exclusively to the project, online from the beginning of
November 2012.

feed plants today and to the recognition of its emerging prospects.

The FEFAC Congress in Krakow in June 2013
Scheduled promotional events
All European feed manufacturers will gather together from 5 to 8 June 2013
in Poland as part of the XXVIth Congress of the European Federation of Feed
Manufacturers. Particularly attracted by Laurent Bellec's project, FEFAC will
make available an area of 100m2 for the first international exhibition of his
work.
� For companies that are project partners, this event will guarantee:
The development of their image with their European clients,
Specially planned meetings with attending feed manufacturers thanks
to private access to the Congress
The dissemination of business information throughout the Congress.
