The problems with gravity held panel systems 

Deflection of the concrete slab occurs in every new building once finished. If the raised access floor panels are 

gravity fixed to the pedestal head, movement including rocking of the floor panels will definitely occur as the 

building settles. ASP raised access floor will NEVER experience this problem. 

Both situations result in this! 

T h e P r o b l e m 

T h e P r o b l e m 

Thermal expansion of the raised access floor panels occurs when the sun light comes through the glass of the building 

and heats the floor panels. The result is loose pedestals, gaps between panels, squeaking and rocking of the floor 

panels. ASP raised access floors will NEVER experience this problem.

Why ASP is Different 

ASP Raised Access Floor systems are different from any other products 

available in the market. With patented pedestal systems featuring in-built 

expansion systems and sound reduction gaskets to our custom integrated 

surface finishes, ASP is advancing the design of the modern raised access 

floor further by engineering a floor system without the problems associated 

with other designs on the market. 

The ASP raised access floor system has been designed to eliminate 

rocking panels, uncontrollable expansion of the panels, lose pedestals, 

gaps between panels and squeaking or noisy panels.

T h e S o l u t i o n 

T h e S o l u t i o n 

Screw fixing the panels to the pedestal head results is 

much greater stability and a longer lasting installation.

Raised Access Floor systems are specified by the loading characteristics of the panels. To 

ensure the performance of the raised access floor system will best suit the requirements 

of the end user the complete raised access floor system is subject to a series of tests. 

There are 6 basic tests that should be conducted on all raised floor systems to ensure 

maximum performance and longevity: 

• Concentrated Load Test 

• Uniform Load Test 

• Ultimate Load Test 

• Impact Load Test 

• Rolling Load Test 

• Pedestal Axial and Horizontal Load Test 

All ASP Products feature a 

minimum 3.5 factor of safety. 

A basic understanding how these tests are conducted will help in ensuring the best 

matched system is specified for your project. 

Concentrated Load: A load is applied over a 25mm x 25mm steel 

indentor with the deflection of the panel not exceeding 2.5mm for the 

concentrated load specified. 

Ultimate Load: Similar to the concentrated load test, a load is applied 

over a 25mm x 25mm steel indentor until the system collapses. The 

ultimate load should be a minimum of 3 times the concentrated load.

U n d e r s t a n d i n g t h e s p e c i f i c a t i o n s 

Uniform Load: A load is applied over a 1m x 1m area with 

the deflection of the panel not exceeding 2.5mm for the 

uniform load specified. 

Rolling Load: A load rolled back and forth across 

the panel which is applied through 3 different size 

wheels. Deflection is measured after 10, 10,000 and 

40,000 continuous cycles.

Impact Load: A weight is dropped from 900mm onto 

a 25mm x 25mm steel indentor without the system 

collapsing. 

Pedestal Axial and Horizontal Load: This is 2 tests, 

a load is applied vertically onto the pedestal and 

also horizontally. The pedestal should not show any 

permanent deformation after each test.

outlined below. The most common way to choose your panel strength is based on the either the 

concentrated, uniform, ultimate or rolling loads required. Common loading specifications available 

include: 

Concentrated Load: 3.7 kN, 4.5 kN, 5.7 kN, 6.8 kN, 8.9 kN 

Uniform Load: 9.4 kN/m 2 , 12 kN/m 2 , 14.4 kN/m 2 , 18 kN/m 2 , 24 kN/m 2

Select your panel understructure - the type of understructure to be used with your panels with vary depending on 

the panel finish, the finished floor height of the system, and the usage of the access floor. Understructure types 

available include: 

T1 - Pedestal For heights under 150mm used with CF, HF, WF, and CSF series panels with bare finish. Uses T2 

pedestal for perimeters. 

T2 - Pedestal For heights under 150mm used with CF, HF, WF, and CSF series panels with factory installed finish 

and uses SG6 stringers. Also used for perimeter pedestal. 

T3 - Pedestal For heights over 150mm used with CF, HF, WF, and CSF series panels with bare finish. Uses T4 

pedestal for perimeters. 

T4 - Pedestal For heights over 150mm used with CF, HF, WF, and CSF series panels with bare finish as a 

perimeter pedestal. 

T5 - Pedestal For heights over 200mm used with CWC series panels with any surface finish can be used with or 

without WG6 stringers.

The CF (Cement Filled) Series raised 

access floor panel is constructed 

from a welded steel case with an 

enclosed die formed bottom pan 

with modular pockets, formed by 

a high pressure moulding process 

without any welded corners. 

The top sheet is welded to the 

bottom sheet with over 100 welds. 

The panels are then in-filled with 

a specially designed light weight 

cementitous compound with unique 

sound deadening qualities. 

The ASP CF series is the only panel 

to feature an in built expansion joint

Why use the ASP CF Series ?

The CF series panel to pedestal head connection is integrated 

with a corner lock and rebated expansion system. Special 

inserts for the ultrafix screw system provide a positively engaged 

connection and protect the panel from damage. 

The panel case is treated with a durable and zinc whisker free 

corrosion resistant phosphate priming coat and baked epoxy 

powder coat finish. The CF series is rated as a non-combustible 

system. Each bare finish CF series panel is manufactured 

standard with factory installed plugs for use with the posi-tile 

adhesive free carpet tile system. 

The CF series panel is extremely strong with a high resistance to 

rolling loads and a factor of safety exceeding 3.5. Nearly every 

surface finish can be installed to the CF series panel both on-site 

and in the factory making it the perfect panel for every application.

Constructed from a single piece

Why use the CWC Series

The moisture resistant structural core protects the panel from situations that normally permanently damage a traditional 

woodcore panel. The CWC series panel is of robust construction and provides excellent uniform load performance. 

The panel forms a rigid platform supporting very high deflection loading with a steel bottom and top sheet treated with 

a corrosion resistant phosphate priming coat and baked epoxy powder coat finish. 

Tapered side walls create a slimline appearance while allowing easy removal of the panels by ensuring wedging of 

the panels does not occur. The CWC series can have nearly every type of surface factory installed making it a highly 

versatile panel. The CWC woodcore panel system achieves a “Class O” fire safety designation. With Ignitability - 0, 

Spread of Flame - 0, Heat Evolved - 0, and Smoke Developed - 0.

raised access floor. Designed for use in computer and heavy equipment rooms the

suit any design requirement . The perforated panel is perfect for:
