THE HOLIDAY SEASON HAS ARRIVED!
(OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE BEGINNING OF SNOW!
LATE START! EARLY RELEASE SEASON!)
Hello all…. I want to wish everyone “Tidings of Joy” during this
time of year and into the new year. As always, it is a very busy
time so I will not ask much of you but I do need to pass on some
reminders and comments.
First, we will again be using the auto phone call system to notify
families by using the data provided in our database through
family access (Or by contacting the school secretaries) to make
calls. Having correct numbers in our system helps. PRIMARY:
Should be the home landline if you have one. The option for an
additional contact for parents needs to be designated as (Cell).
Setting up this way gives us 2 ways to let students know of
changes. If only the parent cell number is in the PRIMARY
location, only the parent gets a call. (IF you do not have a landline,
either way works)
Second, we will continue to notify the media. Currently we
attempt to get information out to the following stations.
(However, I implement the auto phone call first - so you may get a
call before it show up in the media)

Finally, I just want to say thank you & to state how proud I am of
the students and community. What a great run we had in
Volleyball and Football. The support was amazing. The character
showed by our student body and the great behavior of students
and all fans is an example that others should follow.

NEW MEMBERS OF THE NHS
ELEMENTARY NEWS
The students in Mrs.
Uppena's Class wrote their
own picture books in small
groups. The books were
about ways that science is
used in our community, like our fire department,
health care, how water gets to our homes, and
trees. They were able to share their books with
the 4K, Kindergarten, and 1st grade classes.

LET’S GO BOWLING
The third, fourth, and fifth
grade classes took a trip to
Sunset Lanes in Dickeyville
Friday, November 16, for a PE
bowling trip. These students
completed a two-week bowling
unit in PE and were rewarded with a trip to get
some real bowling experience! Students were
taught proper technique and form of bowling in
class to be used at the bowling alley. Classroom
teachers, Miss Haag, Mr. Shaw, Mr. Cummins, and
Mrs. Kubal, were also along to bowl a game!

MUSIC DEPARTMENT
The Potosi Music
Department will present
a Holiday Concert on
December 10, 7:00.
Middle School Choir and Band will perform as well
as the High School Band and Choir. New and old
songs about winter and the Christmas season will
be featured on the program.

Potosi Elementary Students will present a program
on Tuesday December 18. This year the program
is set for 1:00 p.m. The theme of the program is
celebrating lights and stars during the very
darkest part of our year. A special feature will be
the new percussion instruments purchased by the
Music Boosters as well as traditional Orff and
rhythm instruments.
Several students from the
Middle School Band were
selected for the Six Rivers
West Middle School Honors
Band that was held on
Tuesday, Nov. 6 in Cassville.
The students were: Brendan Weber, Emma
Wagner, Kate Nusbaum, Ally Siegert, Hannah
Udelhoven. Christian Bauer, Makylie Parkins, Nick
Horner, Abby Kaiser, and Sophie Langkamp. The
students rehearsed all day and presented a
concert in the evening. Their guest conductor was
Mr. Monte Muller, former Middle School Band
Director from Lancaster.

POTOSI STUDENT COUNCIL
The Student Councils would like to thank the
community for continuing to use the
SchoolStore.com site when you make online
purchases. Please consider this for making your
holiday purchases online. Stores like Target, Walmart,
and Cabela's are just some the participating

raised $500 this year from the.

The Potosi Student Council has
been busy in November. They
planned the pep rallies for the
Potosi Football team, which
placed 2nd in State. They
sponsored 2 hat days to help
towards the Hurricane Sandy
disaster relief fund. PHS
student council also decorated the gym entrance
and school lunchroom for the holidays. The club is
planning to help with the Leukemia/Lymphoma
society in February. Look for details in the coming
newsletters.
