Structurally efficient and easy to install
As a fundamental substructure for Kalzip profiled sheets a lightweight system of steel galvanized profiles, which are bolted together, is
used. These are fixed using approved fasteners in the support structure of the old roofing. By applying additional thermal insulation to the
existing roof sealing,improvement of the U-Values and the acoustic performance can be achieved at the same time.
At first the existing gravel pack gets removed in most cases. Subsequently follows a careful check of the roof sealing. This check is prepared
according to the structural-physical calculations of DIN 4108 for the particular project (e. g. to cut out existing bubbles, perforations
etc.).
Then the lightweight steel framework is fixed on the existing rigid insulation and roof sealing. Special anchoring troughs are used as an
foundation, into which columns are fixed in and bolted down. The columns then get spanned by roof purlins, on which the Kalzip E-clips
are fixed. The stiffening of the system is achieved by hat profiles, which are installed after the clip-installation from eaves to the ridge. Then
the Kalzip profiled sheet is installed and zipped together.
The structural analysis, preparation of construction plans and piece lists will be provided by Kalzip GmbH.

During manufacture of the primary material of Titansilver, outside influence of the production process, such as discoring or unevenness
of the outside appearance, cannot be eliminated.
These colour differences, whose intensity cannot be influenced by the production techniques appear enhanced around the edges
of the bands. The visual unevenness is visible only after the assembly, bearing in mind different angles as well as light and weather
conditions. Colour variation of this kind does not display material defect in accordance with § 434 BGB (German Civil Code) and
according to DIN EN 485-1 with the result that warranty claims of the customer are excluded.

Unloading and storage Adequate storage place should be provided for the storage of the materials by the customer.
The packages with the profile sheets and accessories must be unloaded with suitable lifting
gear. With the use of cranes unloading should be undertaken with 10 cm wide, rubberized belts.

Important notes · Packing possibilities
The edges of the stacked profile sheets are to be protected against mechanical damages.
Only in unavoidable cases (if no specific cross bars with the hoisting belts are available) guy
ropes may be guided over the profile sheet edges (see Pic. 2); at the same time metal angle
(see Pic. 3) beads are to be inserted. Damages cannot always be avoided.
With pallets over 10 m in length a crossbar is to be used when unloading.

Standard packing According to the factory standard
Special forms If certain package weights must not be exceeded, and/or if it must be packed separately
according to building parts, this is to be indicated with the order, so that potentially incurred,
higher packing costs can be discussed and agreed.
General unloading Packages with lengths above 10 m have to be unloaded with a crossbar.
The cantilever at the end of the crossbar should not exceed 4,5 m.
For the attaching of the packages belts or ropes with edge protection must be used.
Please pay attention to our explanations in the Kalzip fixing manual.
In order to achive optimum truck efficiency, dimensions and weights can be transgressed
in individual cases.
