Otherwise you might damage the vehicle or the obstacle. Beeeep... a Caution In Zone 2 some obstacles may not be detected because they are no longer within range of the sensors (construction-related characteristic). 8 Using MWE880 The sensors are automatically activated when you switch on the ignition and the speed of the vehicle lies between 0 and the specified speed. The sensors are switched off if you drive more quickly; the sensors are reactivated if the speed falls to the defined speed or lower. As soon as there is an obstacle within the detection range, a repeated signal tone is emitted. If the measured distance does not change for 5 seconds, the signal stops (except for stop signals in zone 5, see fig. 5, page 5). If the distance to the detected object changes to more than 10 cm, the signal is emitted again. Be very careful the first time you use the system, until you are familiar with the various sequences of beeps. 36

Juni 2009 5:37 17 MagicWatch MWE880 Maintaining and cleaning MWE880 a Caution Stop the vehicle immediately and investigate the situation (getting out if necessary), if the following happens while you are manoeuvring: When manoeuvring, the device first indicates an obstacle by alternating tone sequences. Suddenly the obstacle is no longer indicated. This means that the original obstacle is in the blind spot of the sensors (construction-related characteristic), and it is possible to hit it. 9 Maintaining and cleaning MWE880 a Caution Do not use sharp or hard objects to clean the device as these may damage the sensors. ➤ Clean the sensors with a damp cloth from time to time. 10 Troubleshooting The device indicates no function. The plug for the power supply is not connected or is not properly plugged into the control electronics. The plugs for the sensors are not connected or are not properly plugged into the control electronics. ➤ Check the plugs, and plug them in so they latch into place. 11 Guarantee The statutory warranty period applies. If the product is defective, please contact the manufacturer's branch in your country (see the back of the instruction manual for the addresses) or your retailer. For repair and guarantee processing, please include the following documents when you send in the device: • A copy of the receipt with purchasing date • A reason for the claim or description of the fault 37
