I. About the Film 



Intension/ 

Intention 


Ich bin seit vielen Jahren ein 

großer Verehrer von Helmut 

Berger und Hermes Phettberg. 

Deren Werk, aber auch das 

Schloss meiner Familie inspirierten 

mich, dieses Drehbuch zu 

schreiben. Der Film beschäftigt 

sich mit Auflösungen, bzw. einer 

Umkehrung gesellschaftlicher 

Strukturen, Männern, die angeschlagen 

sind, überstarken 

Frauen, einer gänzlich abwesenden 

Sexualmoral und dem 

ewigen Kampf zwischen Liebe 

und Geld. – Daher auch die 

Titelgebung A perception, 

dt.: eine Wahrnehmung. 

Ich möchte einen Film kreieren, 

der neue Sichtweisen auf 

Lebensentwürfe weit abseits der 

bürgerlichen Mitte zulässt. 


I have been a great admirer 

of Helmut Berger and Hermes 

Phettberg for many years. Their 

work as well as my family’s 

manor have inspired me to write 

this script. The film explores 

themes of revolution and social 

unrest, disillusioned men, 

domineering women, the 

complete absence of sexual 

morals and the eternal struggle 

between love and money. Hence 

the film’s title A perception. 

I wish to create a film casting a 

fresh perspective on modern life 

and encompassing values far 

from the bourgeois norm. 



Synopsis/ 

Plot 

Ein verbitterter, alter Graf lebt auf 

einem verfallenen Schloss in der 

Nähe von Berlin. Sein einziger 

Sohn kommt mit seiner Freundin 

und deren Tochter zu Besuch. 

Diesen Anlass will der Graf nutzen, 

um seinen verhassten Sohn 

ermorden zu lassen. Er vereinbart 

mit seinem jungen, attraktiven 

Angestellten, ihm das Schloss zu 

schenken, wenn dieser seinen 

Sohn dafür tötet. Parallel dazu ist 

ein Auftragskiller auf dem Weg, um 

ebenfalls den Sohn des Grafen zu 

töten, da dieser Drogen von einer 

gefährlichen Motorradgang 

gestohlen hat. – Eine glühend 

heiße Landpartie im Hochsommer, 

gelangweilte Protagonisten und 

eine erdrückende Atmosphäre, die 

in einer Karthasis endet. 

„Hotel New Hampshire“ trifft 

„U-Turn”, trifft „True Romance” mit 

einem Hauch von Claude Chabrol. 

A bitter elderly count resides in 

an old, decrepit manor house 

near Berlin. His only son is 

coming to visit with his new 

girlfriend and her daughter from 

a former relationship. The count 

promises his handsome young 

male employee the manor 

house if he kills his son during 

the visit. The count’s son steals 

some drugs from a biker gang 

and they send a hitman after 

him. In the sultry summer 

countryside, people are bored, 

people are nasty and something 

really bad is going to happen. 

“Hotel New Hampshire” 

meets “U-Turn” meets “True 

Romance” with a touch of 

Claude Chabrol.

Filmschauspieler. 

Er zählte vor allem in den 

1960er- und 1970er Jahren 

zu den populärsten Stars des 

europäischen Kinos. 

Als künstlerisch herausragend 

gilt seine Zusammenarbeit mit 

dem italienischen Regisseur 

Luchino Visconti. Unter dessen 

Regie entstanden auch seine 

bedeutenden Filme wie Die 

Verdammten und Ludwig II..
