The present catalogue is devided <strong>in</strong>to four major sections:<br />
1. <strong>Trichoptera</strong> (all families) (L. Schnug)<br />
2. <strong>Lepidoptera</strong>, T<strong>in</strong>eoidea, with <strong>the</strong> family T<strong>in</strong>eidae only<br />
(R. Gaedike)<br />
3. <strong>Lepidoptera</strong>, Bombycoidea, with <strong>the</strong> families Brahmaeidae,<br />
Eupterotidae, Lasiocampidae, Mir<strong>in</strong>idae, Saturniidae<br />
<strong>and</strong> Sph<strong>in</strong>gidae (C. Etzbauer, U. Kleikamp)<br />
4. Drepanoidea, with <strong>the</strong> s<strong>in</strong>gle family Drepanidae (<strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g<br />
Drepan<strong>in</strong>ae <strong>and</strong> Thyatir<strong>in</strong>ae) (C. Blume)<br />
5. Noctuoidea with <strong>the</strong> families Arctiidae, Lymantriidae,<br />
Notodontidae <strong>and</strong> Noctuidae (<strong>the</strong> Pan<strong>the</strong>idae <strong>and</strong> Nolidae,<br />
separated from <strong>the</strong> Noctuidae by Kitch<strong>in</strong>g &<br />
Rawl<strong>in</strong>s, 1999, are here <strong>in</strong>cluded with<strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> latter family)<br />

With<strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> families, <strong>the</strong> catalogue is arranged alphabetically<br />
by species, subspecies or forms, us<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> orig<strong>in</strong>al<br />
spell<strong>in</strong>gs <strong>and</strong> comb<strong>in</strong>ations. Each entry is arranged <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
follow<strong>in</strong>g order: species or subspecies names, orig<strong>in</strong>al<br />
comb<strong>in</strong>ation, author, year <strong>of</strong> publication, page number <strong>of</strong><br />
description, k<strong>in</strong>d <strong>of</strong> types. The validity <strong>of</strong> each type was<br />
Christ<strong>in</strong>a Blume et al.<br />
checked aga<strong>in</strong>st <strong>the</strong> orig<strong>in</strong>al description. The follow<strong>in</strong>g abbreviations<br />
were used <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> list: HT – holotype, LT – lectotype,<br />
NT – neotype, PLT – paralectotype, PT –<br />
paratype, ST – syntype. The complete list <strong>of</strong> orig<strong>in</strong>al references<br />
follows each family.<br />
