sections: outer casing tube and inner<br />
sampling rod<br />
• Samples are collected by only removing the<br />
inner sampling rods, outer casing prevents<br />
hole from collapsing<br />
• Deeper samples are collected by re-inserting<br />
sampling rods and advancement with outer<br />
casing<br />
• relatively large diameter (2 - 4.5"; 5 – 11.4 cm)<br />
• cross-contamination is minimized, fast when<br />
continuous sampling is required<br />
