Antiquariat Bibermühle offers in catalogues 63, 64, 65 an incomparable reference<br />
library totalling about 6.500 lots that leaves nothing to be desired by bibliophiles<br />
and scholars.<br />
The first volume is entirely devoted to early written and printed book culture: viz.<br />
palaeography, manuscript illumination and printing in the 15th and 16th centuries.<br />
Within this framework some hundred colourful facsimile editions provide<br />
us with a vivid picture of this period. The second portion opens a widespread panorama:<br />
It includes bibliographies and reference works concerning literature and<br />
art, history and cultural history, theology, geography, natural sciences, technology<br />
etc. and closes with no less than 800 personal bibliographies. Books about books<br />
are gathered in the third volume: Here are to be found standard and specialized<br />
studies, catalogues and bibliographical lists in the fields of book and library lore,<br />
printing history, bibliophily, art of writing and bookbinding, book illustration<br />
and book plates.<br />
The collections of the antiquarian booksellers Roland Hartmann, Carlo Alberto<br />
Chiesa, Tammaro de Marinis and parts of that of <strong>Heribert</strong> <strong>Tenschert</strong>, all grown<br />
over decades, are now assembled in one work, that fascinates by the abundance,<br />
quality and concentration of the material, the numerous special and luxury editions<br />
offered, the mostly immaculate bindings of the leading masters as well as<br />
famous provenances. The condition of the collection is outstanding: A large part<br />
is bound in red half morocco and in mint condition, witness of an appreciation of<br />
bibliographical literature nearly never found nowadays.<br />
The carefully edited catalogue contains about 1.500 colour illustrations and is –<br />
unique for a catalogue of this subject – made accessible by comprehensive indexes.<br />
In short, it is a reference work advisable to all book-lovers.

Eine Handbibliothek mit rund 6500 Nummern, die bei Bibliophilen und Buchforschern<br />
kaum einen Wunsch offen läßt, präsentiert das Antiquariat Bibermühle<br />
mit den Katalogen 63 bis 65.<br />
Der erste Band ist ganz der frühen Schrift- und Buchkultur gewidmet: der<br />
Handschriftenkunde sowie der Druckgeschichte des 15. und 16. Jahrhunderts.<br />
In diesem Rahmen werden mehrere hundert farbenprächtige Vollfaksimiles vorgestellt,<br />
die diese Epochen unmittelbar anschaulich werden lassen. Der zweite<br />
Band eröffnet ein weites inhaltliches Panorama: Er umfaßt Bibliographien<br />
und Referenzwerke aus Literatur und Kunst, Geschichte und Kulturgeschichte,<br />
Theologie, Geographie, Naturwissenschaften, Technik etc. und schließt mit<br />
rund 800 Personalbibliographien. Bücher über Bücher versammelt der dritte<br />
Band: Hier finden sich Standard- und Spezialwerke, Kataloge und Verzeichnisse<br />
zum Buch- und Bibliothekswesen, zur Druckgeschichte und zur Bibliophilie, zu<br />
Schrift- und Einbandkunde, Buchillustration und Exlibris.<br />
Über Jahrzehnte gewachsene Sammlungen der Antiquare Roland Hartmann,<br />
Carlo Alberto Chiesa, Tammaro de Marinis und <strong>Heribert</strong> <strong>Tenschert</strong> sind in einem<br />
Werk zusammengeführt worden, das sich gleichermaßen durch die Fülle<br />
und Dichte des Materials, die zahlreich angebotenen Vorzugs- und Luxusausgaben,<br />
oft makellosen Handeinbände und bedeutende Provenienzen auszeichnet.<br />
Auffallend ist die meist außerordentlich gute Erhaltung: Ein großer Teil des<br />
Bestandes präsentiert sich in neuwertigen weinroten Halbmaroquinbänden und<br />
zeugt von einer noch immer selten anzutreffenden Wertschätzung von bibliographischer<br />
Gebrauchsliteratur.<br />
Der sorgfältig bearbeitete Katalog wird durch etwa 1500 farbige Abbildungen<br />
illustriert und – einmalig bei einem Bibliographie-Katalog – durch umfangreiche<br />
Register erschlossen. Er empfiehlt sich seinerseits allen Bücherfreunden als<br />
Nachschlagewerk.
