Valentin Aleksandrovic Serov (1865-1911) war Sohn des Komponisten Alexander Nikolajevich Serov,
Schüler der Petersburger Akademie bei Repin und Tschistjakow und zählt zu den besten Vetretern der
russischen Porträtkunst. Seine Porträts von Schriftstellern Künstlern und Musikern sind heute in der
Tretjakow Galerie in Moskau ausgestellt. (Leskow, Lewitan, Rimski Korsakov... ).
