SAMO, A LEADING WAY PARTNER FOR NEW LIFE STYLES
samo is a leader brand name known for the experience achieved through the continuous evolution and innovation of its shower enclosure range
which is wide, distinctive and avant-garde to fulfill all the market evolutions and needs.
The samo Group puts on hand to the trade all its organisation and know how. This with the objective to reinforce the partnership with the customers and
to highlight the Distinctive Difference of the Made in Italy.
It is with this goal that we have built in an area of 500 square meters, within the factory in Bonavigo the:
SAMO EXCELLENCE CENTER
A permanent Training and Update Center dedicated to the professionals, contractors, salesmen, installers, in order to deepen the various aspects of the
bathroom installations and more in detail the shower area.
The main feature is represented by the wide area reserved for a continuous test activity on every product and executed with high precision machinery.
This is in accordance with the new CEE shower enclosure regulations and the Quality System parameters.
The tests aim to verify that the product mantains constant characteristics and performances during its whole life time.
The machinery is equipped with a computerized arm specifically designed, managed by a self learning software; there is also a pendulum to test the
structural stability and a working area equipped for water tests.
All equipments and computers test the samo products to the extreme:
• DURABILITY
Open-Close life cycles (stress endurance, ref. 4.4.5 EN14428)
The endurance and the time life of the moving doors is tested with 20,000 open-close cycles.
Profiles corrosion resistance (ref. 4.4.2 EN14428)
The profiles paint and treatments endurance is verified via a “square” test.
The surface of the profile is deeply engraved with sharpe blades. The incisions are applied with a “comb” pattern and are perpendicular creating a set of small
“squares”; the test is considered positively passed if no more of two squares detach from the profile.
Glass panels endurance against chemical agents and machinery (ref. 4.4.3 EN14428)
The non-tarnish molecular structure and the aestethic aspect of the glass panels is tested applying a chemical for 2 hours upon a mm. 100x100 glass sample;
the test is considered positively passed if, after rinsing, the sample doesn’t show any deterioration, stain or abrasion.
Glass panels endurance to wet-dry cycles (ref. 4.4.4 EN14428)
The non-tarnish molecular structure and the aestethic aspect of the glass panels is tested with a glass sample (cm. 100x100) subjected to 20 immersion cycles
at 80°C temperature for 8 hours and subsequential rest for 16 hours at room temperature; the test is considered positively passed if the sample doesn’t show
any crack, chap or loss of color.
Stability of the shower enclosure (ref. 4.4.6 EN14428)
Safety is guaranteed by a test that simulate the weight of a human body against the glass panel (i.e. a shoulder hit or a fall).
A heavy object is banged against every shower enclosure panel.
The test is considered positively passed if the panels don’t show any harmful part.
Water test (ref. 4.4.7 EN14428)
The watertightness of the joints and the seals is veryfied spraying directly the critichal areas of the shower enclosure with high pressure water
• CRASH TEST/FRAGMENTATION
Glass fragmentation test (crash test, ref. 4.3.2 EN14428).
The norm states that, in the event of a breakage, the glass fragment must be smaller than the maximum allowed measure in order to protect the end-user safety.
A glass sample of 1.7 square meters is broken and the test is considered positively passed if the count of fragments is less of 40 within an area of mm 50x50.
Crash test for polystyrene panels (crash test ref. 4.3.3 EN14428).
The norm states that, in the event of a breakage, the polystyrene fragment must be smaller than the maximum allowed measure in order to protect the
end-user safety. A glass sample of the size of mm.1930x865 is broken: the test is considered positively passed if the fragments are bigger than the minimum
size allowed by the regulation.
Center for training and updating. - Zentrum für Weiterbildung und Aktualisierung.
