Romeo an Juliet is a dramatic tale
of love and hatred – of streetfights
and death, of a bitter conflict between
families, and of a love-affair
doomed to tragedy by the surrounding
atmosphere of hatred and by
the lovers´own inexperience. This
theme is as relevant today as it was
four hundred years ago. The whole
story is unfolded in the space
of 90 minutes. The adaption loses
nothing of the poetic brilliance of
Shakespeares´s language, but strips
the story to its bare essentials. The
production is colourful, lively, and
immediate – and ideal for advanced
pupils and adult audiences.
Seit Langem schon befehden sich
die Familien Montague und Capulet,
immer wieder kommt es in den
Straßen von Verona zu Gewalt. Romeo
(ein Montague) und Juliet (eine
Capulet) verlieben sich ineinander
und heiraten – heimlich, ohne das
Wissen ihrer Familien.
