Litter Tips
1 Choosing litter. Cats like it fine, they like it soft. Clumping litter
are finer grains, clay litter reduces odours.

2 Choosing a tray. Designer trays for owners may not suit their
cat, covered trays require more attention but for the cat - plain
and simple is all it needs.
3 Location. Convenience and privacy are the two main points of
location - ideally placed away from water and feeding bowls.
4 Training. Instincts will generally guide a cat to its litter tray,
make it accessible, make it fun and leave the business to the cat!
5 Odour. Scented litter will mask odours but if you have a fussy
cat then keep an air freshener near the litter box.
6 Cleanliness. Cats like to be clean, a daily scoop is first on the
agenda and litter changes, according to needs, followed by a
good scrub with a delicate solution to maintain familiarity of its
territory.
7 Depth of litter. Less is more, no more than two inches in depth
is about all a cat will need and long haired cats prefer a smooth
slick surface. Adding extra litter also adds a problem to cleaning.

trays stops queuing for the bathroom.
9 Problems. If your cat stops using the litter tray, check with your
veterinarian as medical problems might be the cause, otherwise
it's your cat being a cat and looking for attention, perhaps?

banishing it to the great outdoors. For ongoing or complex

help resolve any issues of concern.
