Eigenschaften und Klang
Die NoBox BB vereint mehrere Wünsche
in einem Konzept: Die Direktheit eines
Breitbänders insbesondere im Stimmenbereich
zu erreichen und trotzdem kräftigen
und pegelfesten Bass wiederzugeben,
ohne riesige „Kisten“ aufstellen
zu müssen.
Der B 200 wird in der NoBox BB gemeinsam
mit dem 38 cm Tieftöner BGS
40 in einer offenen Schallwand als Dipol
eingesetzt. Die elektrische Trennung
der beiden Chassis liegt ausreichend tief
(250 Hz), so dass der Breitbänder seine
Vorteile voll ausspielen kann und der
BGS 40 praktisch als Subwoofer arbeitet.
Der BGS 40 ist ein Musiker-Chassis
mit hohem Wirkungsgrad und lässt sich
deshalb problemlos an den B 200 anpassen,
ohne Kennschalldruck zu verschenken.
Trotz der offenen Schallwand, die ja
theoretisch zu einem akustischen Kurzschluss
im Bassbereich führt, erreicht
man einen dynamischen Tiefbass bis 32
Hz (-10 dB). Ein Grund dafür ist die Tatsache,
dass die Schallwand vom Fußboden
begrenzt wird und in dieser Richtung
gar kein akustischer Kurzschluss
auftreten kann. Außerdem vergrößern
die Seitenteile des Gehäuses, die vor
allem der Stabilität dienen, die akustische
Lauflänge.
Characteristics and sound properties
The NoBox BB unites a number of preferences
in a single concept: it achieves
the directness of a full-range loudspeaker,
in particular in the voice range, and
also manages to produce powerful, stable
bass without having to fill the room
with hardware.
The B 200 is the used in the NoBox BB
together with a 38 cm BGS 40 woofer
in an open baffle as a dipole. The electric
separation between the two drivers
is low enough (250 Hz), which enables
the full-range speaker to make full use of
its capabilities and the BGS 40 is effectively
the supporting woofer. The BGS 40
is a musician‘s driver with high sensitivity
and can, as a result, easily be adapted to
the B 200 without giving anything away
in terms of mean sound pressure.
Despite the baffle being open, which theoretically
causes an acoustic short circuit
in the bass range, the system produces a
dynamic low bass output down to 32 Hz
(-10 dB). One reason for this is that the
baffle is cut off from the floor and so no
acoustic short circuit can take place in
this direction. In addition, the side panels
of the cabinet, which are mainly for
stability, increase the acoustic distance
travelled.

In the listening test, the NoBox came
out tops in its clear reproduction of
the upper frequencies and treated us
to far more detail than a speaker without
a tweeter should do. The voices
were in 3d - in the room with us - and
the voice reproduction was absolutely

NoBox spielt wie der Teufel. Was wir
im Redaktionshörraum auf die Ohren
bekamen, ließ selbst die abgebrühtesten
Hörtestprofis unter uns
den Mund offen stehen. Trotz der
Messergebnisse, die bereits einiges
versprachen, hatte niemand mit einer
derart tief empfundenen und klaren,
unverfärbten Basswiedergabe gerechnet.

NoBox BB
Aufbau
Die zugeschnittenen Platten werden gemäß
Zeichnung verleimt. Die Frequenzweiche
kann z.B. auf der Rückseite der
Schallwand zwischen den Lautsprechern
oder auf der Bodenplatte montiert werden.
Für das Anschlussterminal ist ein
senkrecht stehendes Brettchen auf der
Bodenplatte vorgesehen.
Vorschlag 2 ist etwas aufwändiger aufgebaut.
Die Kanten werden hier mit
Echtholzleisten gestaltet. Zusätzlich
ist ein Bespannrahmen vorgesehen, so
dass die gesamte Front mit Bespannstoff
(bitte separat bestellen) abgedeckt
werden kann. Der Rahmen wird einfach
zwischen die Seitenwangen geklemmt.
Der Tieftöner sollte 10 mm eingelassen
werden, damit er nicht die Bespannung
berührt.
Bei Verwendung kritischer Röhrenverstärker
sollte der Impedanzverlauf linearisiert
werden (siehe Schaltplan). Die
Bauteile werden gemäß Schaltplan auf
einer separaten Platine aufgebaut und
vor den Eingang der NoBox BB-Weiche
geschaltet.
Construction
The panels are cut to size and glued together
as shown in the drawing. The
crossover can be attached to the rear
of the baffle between the loudspeakers,
for example, or on the base. The terminal
connections are fitted to the vertical
panel attached to the base.
Proposal 2 is more complicated. The
edges are embellished with solid wood
strips. In addition, a grille frame is included
so that the entire front can be covered
with fabric (please order separately).
The frame is simply forced between
the side pieces. The woofer should be
recessed by 10 mm so that it does not
touch the fabric.
If critical tube amplifiers are used, the
impedance curve should be made more
linear (see circuit diagram). The components
are mounted on a separate PCB
as shown in the circuit diagram and
connected upstream of the input to the
NoBox BB crossover.
