Distinctive – that’s what Herrenberg
is; Located at the foothill
of the Schönbuch: our town is
„Urban experience at the Schönbuch,
the business location in the Gäu and in
the area of Stuttgart.“
A multitude of medium-sized businesses
and branches of multinational groups
are characteristic for the economy in
Herrenberg. More and more high-tech
companies have found their way to
Herrenberg, besides traditional family
businesses. In the last few years have
not only many small companies from the
field of information technology decided
to settle down at the location of Herrenberg,
but also the global computer companies
Hewlett-Packard and IBM, i.e.
representatives of that branch of business
whose first ancestor Wilhelm
Schickhardt was born in Herrenberg.
Besides the ideal transport connexion,
the quality of life, which Herrenberg
offers, was the decisive factor for many
of them.
The industrial area in Herrenberg-Gültstein,
favourably situated directly at
the junction Herrenberg of the A 81, a
motorway, the town’s policy to make

in the last few years Herrenberg has

Steinbeis-Transfer-Institutes of the

Herrenberg and the Confraternity of
Southern Germany.

based in Herrenberg, internationally
leading manufacturer of high-quality
upholstered furniture and sophisticated
furnishing, the striking features of which
being design and quality, has made a
commitment to the site of Herrenberg
by creating a new ambience in the
Bahnhofsstraße due to a very high
capital expenditure. In the same way,
EnBW has expressed a commitment to
the site by building a new service centre
for administration, education and engineering.
Important evidence of the historic town
is united with a modern site for business,
trade and service in Herrenberg.
Town experience with simultaneously
clear, communicative structures, a broad
