With her »Vessels« glass collection, Hanna 

Krüger has literally turned glass production 

methods upside down. By reversing the production 

process and due to the unusual shapes of 

tools, unique organic glass shapes have been 

developed. Because of characteristical production 

features each and every object within this 

concept is one-of-a-kind.

Finnisches Design - Punktrelief / Eistaucher / Pollo 

2012 steht Helsinki als Weltdesignhauptstadt 

im Fokus der Designwelt. Im Rahmen 

einer Hommage an das finnische Design hat 

Rosenthal eine Finnland-Kollektion mit Werken 

von Tapio Wirkkala neu aufgelegt. Die Serien 

sind limitiert auf das Jahr 2012 und mit einem 

Sonderbodenstempel versehen. 

Für die Entwicklung der Kollektionen Pollo, 

Punktreliefvasen und den Eistauchern diente die 

organische Natur als Quelle der Inspiration. In 

Verbindung mit klaren, geometrischen Formen, 

Strukturen und Oberflächen entstanden zeitlose 

Klassiker, die dem heutigen Trend zur Natürlichkeit 

genau entsprechen. 

In 2012, the eyes of the design world will be trained 

on Helsinki, the World Design Capital. We are 

marking this occasion by reissuing a number of 

classics from the extremely successful Rosenthal 

studio-line designed by Tapio Wirkkala. 

The collection is limited to the year 2012 and are 

specially back-stamped. 

The development of the Pollo, Spot Relief Vases and 

Loon collection was inspired by the organic nature. 

From the combination of clear geometric shapes, 

structures and surfaces timeless classics came into 

being. They perfectly match with the contemporary 

trend to naturalness.

Tapio Wirkkala entwickelte »Century« 1979

erinnernde Punktrasterdekor sowie durch 

Metallbügelhenkel besonders unterstrichen.

Das Nebeneinander zweier völlig verschiedener 

Formen, am Oberrand abstrakt und 

am Unterrand geometrisch, scheint sich 

nie zu berühren und bringt gegensätzliche 

Spannung. Aber wie durch Zauberhand wird 

das Objekt von einer senkrecht laufenden 

Linie zu einer Einheit verbunden. In diesem 

Kontrast zwischen gleichzeitiger Einheit 

und Zerrissenheit verbirgt sich die Faszination 

dieser Vase. 

»Flux« 

The two completely different forms in juxtaposition 

– abstract for the upper section and 

geometric for the lower section – never appear 

to come into contact with one another and create 

an additional exciting element. But as if 

by magic, the piece becomes a coherent whole 

along its vertical plane. The fascination of this 

vase lies in the contrast it makes between simultaneous 

coherence and fragmentation.
